As a free to play player, I was psyched to see the third strike milestone pop up that would give me all 3 annihilators at 3 yellow stars. I was more excited than I had been in a while. 24 hours later, it was removed without notice.
Well this has officially stopped me from spending on battle passes. So their changes have had the opposite effect on me at least. I hope more follow suit.
Ultimately its up to everyone including CCs to force a change. If a CC boycotts is stands to reason a percentage of their followers will follow suit. If all CCs do it together the % of players will jump even more and a change will be forced. If not it’ll stay like this. Small changes when things hit a boiling point and then right back to the bs. Everyone has to be on the same page and the best people to get them there are the CCs they trust and respect. The issue with this comes in cause CCs make money irl… for bills and such… and therein lies the problem with this strategy.

Remember when characters had their own events and we would farm shards through the event to open orbs that gave at a minimum what? 4-6 shards per orb. Remember 45 shards unlocks??
Part of me wanted to give them my money as I really enjoy this game more than others (Give them 20 bucks for the Battle Passes and whatever change I get from tips) but with the new changes I just don't really feel like giving them my money since I don't want them to think this is a good change.

I don’t understand how it’s difficult to identify that F2P should be able to unlock the character within 2-3 weeks of release. With whales being able to unlock/7 star the character within their own spending cadence. That seems like spenders are plenty rewarded and f2p should be able to at least access new content. Not to mention f2p will be stuck on 3 stars until the characters become farmable anyways, so there’s another massive advantage for spenders

I give this game 6 months before they ditch the shard buying option and go full Gotcha. They are already preparing the players for it with this new "way" of unlocking characters. I totally see a 250 orb pity system and 10 orbs for $25. I personally am not going to spend the same amount for a car payment to a mobile game each month to get the newest and needed teams.
I stopped buying characters because of this. I used to be able to buy a 3 star character and then get them to 5 star using the F2P events, which allowed me to access the star gated milestone points to push for higher rewards, but now that doesn't work anymore. I'm getting less for the same money... screw that.

With captain Britain's fomo bullshit. Why would I spend any money on this game?? I almost caved and bought a 5 dollar offer for gladiator but waited one day, went back, and it was gone even though it had 28 days left at the time. ScHopeless is killing this game slowly.
Anyone who buys the battlepass now is going to feel scammed when they realize they dont have any characters to upgrade. A lot of players are at the point where they completely stopped upgrading gen 1 characters because of the new stat boosted characters
With the changes I've stopped spending completely. I've been buying unlock for almost all characters in the last 3-4 years (been playing for 6) along with passes. Really, as someone who was already buying them, these changes should help me, however I feel it's a screw-you to the player base and I don't want to support that. When I fall far enough behind that it's no longer fun then I'll just quit playing all together.
I'm similar to you and I feel like this change doesn't help us at all bc we would buy the unlock play the event and buy the pass so we could have the new toon at 6* but now with no event we're buying the toon and it's just staying at 3* maybe 4* with the pass. So the change is actually fawkin us too, and we're the ones dropping a car note a month on the game
I pulled 100 drop for Gorr so I cored Thanos for the last 60 or so shards (I got a 40 drop within the first three orbs so I only needed a few in total), but it felt gross and prolonged to finally be in any kind of meta for arena especially. I held out pretty well in the top 100 but once I fell behind the curve with Annihilators I lost out on cores, orbs, and arena credits because of how dominant they are. Being forced to pay for participation is disgusting, and if I didn’t have the spare cores for Thanos I would’ve been even further behind than I already am

I came from the game dc legends rip, which is pretty much the same as msf(msf does have more things) in dc legends you would never have to for orbs to get a character, if you really wanted to pay, you could have just bought the character it self with no lottery aspects. And if you wanted to you could if you had a high enough level and power they had events for new characters which anyone could play no matter the level to unlock the character, I am really liking msf but this is kinda crazy.
I wonder if the Content Creators numbers are up because of the negativity of the game. I think that's the reason that viewership is up. Nothing makes people watch and engage more than when they're pissed off.
I think you're right but also think its because they have so many events cluttering the event page as well as things that are constantly changing that players have to watch multiple videos every day just to figure out whats going on

I’ve been buying a lot of the passes since they were updated. I have Mephisto. I’ve never bought a character release offer. I haven’t bought the last couple passes and I don’t see myself buying another one with the new changes.

Once Cpt Brexit Card was announced, i knew then, that was it and they were moving this way...i told everyone in my alliance...i haven't spent a dime since and I'm just gonna finish up dd7 and that's it. I opened 12 Thanos orb shards tonight and got 0 Thanos shards and 12 silver surfer shards...so incredibly dumb. I've also spent several thousand cores I had horded on the other Thanos orbs and still am only at 40 shards after idk how many of the not free orbs.

All I want is the servers the stay on and the game to keep going. I 100% agree that the game is cheap but that is also its strength. We are a bit spoiled but that’s what brings love and money to the game. They’re not going to get what they want by dropping the frog into boiling water.

Scopely makes claims that players are getting more shards, but why not ask them to share their data to support that claim? It's not asking for sensitive or private info. Make them back their claims.
The game become impossible to play without new teams because its only a competition recently. If there will be more engaging game modes even for single player where you can use all the characters not only new ones and get some rewards to progress even slowly then taking part in pvp competitions it would still be fun to play. Recently it's either pay to play or log in and wait for anything you can actually do other then click on daily objectives milestones (which are useless anyway). You cannot progress in raids because red gear is locked behind new teams, same with diamonds which are hidden behind crucible and you cannot possibly compete even if you lack one core member of core team (CB situation). Arena is locked behind new Annihilators so even cores are now out of range. The only thing left is blitz lol and what you can get by playing it is a laugh. There's no new campaings since forever, all event campaigns we get to play are available only for those who buy characters necessary to even participate and by the time you unlock any requirement character the event is long gone. Veterans FTP or light spenders are basically locked from doing anything unless they start a new game.
I bought the battle passes. Won't be buying anymore. I do enjoy the game. Been play since it came out. You just have to have the mindset that when you get the unlock you get it.
If they don't actually address this, I'm sad to say... I think I might be done with the game for real. There have been a lot of times where I've been outraged by their choices and strategies... but this is by far the worst of it. What's funny is... I'd already given this game a 1 star review on the Google App store back during the Captain Britain fiasco. Honestly...I'm a pass buyer and I was a $50 character buyer and still sweaty grinding on the toon release event to get over 5 stars and maybe spend another 25 to bridge the gap to the 6th star. But now those options are just ripped away from me... If I want the new character at a functioning level for their game mode.... base 5 stars.... well now I have to spend more or release offers???? IT's bullshit. I love this game and have had no problem being a pass and character but just ending the release events is trash....Spend of get fucked.... Spend even more and still get fucked. It's just sad... 30 days for the super krakens to have their time and fun in the sun is cool. This change is _not_ going to get me to start spending on this game again. If something ks paywalled, it won't get done. I play warhammer. Scopely makes claims that players are getting more shards, but why not ask them to share their data to support that claim? It's not asking for sensitive or private info. Make them back their claims.

The game become impossible to play without new teams because its only a competition recently. If there will be more engaging game modes even for single player where you can use all the characters not only new ones and get some rewards to progress even slowly then taking part in pvp competitions it would still be fun to play. Recently it's either pay to play or log in and wait for anything you can actually do other then click on daily objectives milestones (which are useless anyway). You cannot progress in raids because red gear is locked behind new teams, same with diamonds which are hidden behind crucible and you cannot possibly compete even if you lack one core member of core team (CB situation). Arena is locked behind new Annihilators so even cores are now out of range. The only thing left is blitz lol and what you can get by playing it is a laugh. There's no new campaings since forever, all event campaigns we get to play are available only for those who buy characters necessary to even participate and by the time you unlock any requirement character the event is long gone. Veterans FTP or light spenders are basically locked from doing anything unless they start a new game.
Im not buying a single thing, and those orbs i could give every player a 7 star silver surfer in the game

I bought the battle passes. Won't be buying anymore. I do enjoy the game. Been play since it came out. You just have to have the mindset that when you get the unlock you get it.
At this point everybody should just start streaming MSF just to be able to write off in game expenses 🤦🤣🤣

If they don't actually address this, I'm sad to say... I think I might be done with the game for real. There have been a lot of times where I've been outraged by their choices and strategies... but this is by far the worst of it. What's funny is... I'd already given this game a 1 star review on the Google App store back during the Captain Britain fiasco. So I went back and edited it, saying I wish I could give this game a lower score than a 1 and warning people that this game is actually a trap.

Honestly...I'm a pass buyer and I was a $50 character buyer and still sweaty grinding on the toon release event to get over 5 stars and maybe spend another 25 to bridge the gap to the 6th star. But now those options are just ripped away from me... If I want the new character at a functioning level for their game mode.... base 5 stars.... well now I have to spend more or release offers???? IT's bullshit. I love this game and have had no problem being a pass and character but just ending the release events is trash....Spend of get fucked.... Spend even more and still get fucked. It's just sad... 30 days for the super krakens to have their time and fun in the sun is cool. But taking away the ability of "the highly engaged players" to sweat and grind a 5ys or 6ys if they have the time and cores to do so and replaced it like this is just total shit.

can we highlight the usefullness of the player voice council? since they've been found the game went worst and worst. not saying that is council's fault of course this is 100% msf fresponsibility. the council was suppose to communicate better with developers and since then we had logan, pocket d paywall, no more f2p char release and many other thing i'm missing right now. wow usefullness at it's peak, i remember someone saying it's just a movement of spending people crying about the little advantage money gives them in this game, well i think they succeded then...

I stopped buying character offers and premium offers some years ago. I stopped buying passes a while after that. I've been a $0 player for the last 3 years or so.
This change is _not_ going to get me to start spending on this game again. If something ks paywalled, it won't get done.
I play warhammer. I resist FOMO from people much more proficient than scopely.

They are not saying you will never get characters or events. F2p simply is going to be on a delayed timeline. This will probably separate alliance, some being spenders and some being f2p. This is good because the competition will be level. AND you guys get to make twice the content f2p and spending accounts.
