Amira has built 13 playgrounds in SA. Amira means Princess in Arabic. Very fitting for her. Few things bring joy and smiles anymore, but Amira's singing does. Chantal on HGT told Amira to enjoy her youth and not hurry life. I think she is doing very well in that regard.

You were asking if Amira sang music other than Opera? She has an original piece called "In the Stars" taken from her CD. I think she has three CDs released altogether. "In the Stars" is beautiful both in the music/singing aspect and the video itself.
To me Amira is the best opera singer of her generation today. There is another rising star, Lucy Thomas. The beautiful,very talented, and young singer from UK. She is at about the same age as Amira. You could try to react to her. Listening her singing is addictive, believe me.

This an extremely beautiful performance. Just remember there are many versions of Ave Maria. So do not be afraid to do one again and again. Example Ave Maria by Gomez the performance is with Mom on flute, brother on violin, and Dad on pipe organ. You might check it out. Nice reaction

This is one of my favorite songs by Amira (well, actually, they're all favorites of mine.) The male singer is Gissur Paul, and they're singing in Reykjavik, Iceland. I hope everyone notices how hard Amira works to get the notes of this magnificent song out. It very much reminds me of the video of her running the cross-country in Holland, before she bgan singing. There's the same determination on her face, and how her shoulders lift as she sings.

On the World's Best, AGT and many others. She is called the Vocal Wonder. Her blind audition has 61 million views and counting. From Kazakhstan. Any song from her is great. Dear Mike and Ginger: would love to hear your reactions to another song sung also incredibly beautifully by Amira the Same evening in Reykjavik she sang "Ave Maria" which you reviewed. The same night she sang "O Mio Babbino Caro," Reykjavik Christmas Concert, Jan. 15, 2016. She was 12; the exceptionally gifted Amira was born March 27, 2004.

She was supposed to perform a year earlier, but then her grandma passed away, unfortunately, who was one of her biggest supporters.
This performance was recorded in my hometown, BTW, same place André Rieu originates from. :)

Ray Vandenburg created this video as what he calls a "video sequel." None of the video visuals contain Amira Willighagen, but the voice is all her. The sound quality is exceptionally pure, and the visuals explain the music beautifully. "Song to the Moon" portrays a Rusalka, which we of the West would call a 'mermaid', asking the moon for help in calling her human lover to her. The video notes explain the context of the aria completely.

I'm a little confused. The remark to which I'm replying doesn't fit the video. Evidently I was replying to several of Amira's reaction videos at the same time and got my hands crossed or something. Oh well, I'll straighten it out at some point, but first I have to find the video this remark belongs on, the song itself is "Song to the Moon".

No matter if you're a religious person or not, this masterpiece is pure love solidified in music: a hymn of gratitude to everyone's own mother for the love and dedication she gave us.
I know there is plenty of unlucky people who didn't received these blessing from who give them birth, but I still hope they could feel that warmth coming from a grandma, an aunt or simply from a random lady with some love to share.
From what I can remember, Amira is using her money in order to help the poors in South Africa: she's indeed one of the caring Ladies I was talking before...💖

Correct. Amira has a foundation called Gelukskinders, set up when she was 10 years old, to fulfill a childhood dream of hers to build playgrounds for children in townships who had nowhere to play. To date. she has built at least 14 playgrounds and 3 more were due to build this year but covid-19 has halted new builds for the moment. Fundraising by fans for the builds, and maintenance and replacement of equipment in the existing playgrounds continued online. Visit the shop at Gelukskinders website to purchase Amira cds, dvds, calendars and more to support her playgrounds, and watch out on her website for opening of ticket sales for her online Christmas concert. Tickets will be available from optog.co.za.

As has been mentioned in the comments below, Ave Maria has many, many versions & I agree that you should definitely check out the version Ave Maria Gomez ( Canisius Church). This is completely different to this one you’ve just reacted to.
You will feel the emotion Amira projects in this performance. Simply stunning. Don’t let her mom put you off with her rather awkward attempt at playing the recorder. This performance is a definite yes for your reaction.

Btw, I grew up with my dad playing and teaching trumpet and other brass instruments in wind orchestras and big bands. Brass, brass everywhere. I had escapes fortunately. May have got to appreciate it a little more after I recently discovered Brass Against.
