@@rosekizin7654That aged natural color scheme seems to be discontinued. Unless it’s available through the custom shop, you can’t really find it through retailers .

It has such a clean and lovely sound, nice rounded tone that Fender basses are known for, that's why players spend the money for a nice Fender bass. I think this one could be well worth it.
It is .. I have this exact one.. the tone is amazingly round and fat . I play it in its passive setting the majority of time because the tone pallet on this bass is that good.

You don't need to spend this amount of money on a bass to sound like the video. It's your technique that produces the sound and tone
Everybody who spends more than a grand on an instrumet know's what they're paying for and it's more often than not, not because of the sound. That is, if you think those people have brains.
Alex Parsa yes, sound is one aspect. I put a set of CS60s jazz bass pickups in my player series bass and it sounds as good, if not better than the bass in this video.
However, these basses are more than just the sound though. The new American Ultra series features heaps of comfort and playability upgrades across the board. Not to mention the build quality is fantastic on the high end American stuff. I wouldnt pay that much for the sound alone, when I can get a cheaper bass and swap the pickups. But what you’re paying for is a better made instrument all round. Not to mention the often look much nicer. I mean, the ultra jazz bass in ultraburst or Texas tea is just incredibly SEXY!
Yes musicians spends thousands on instruments but most of the time it’s not for sound, it is rather for comfort, convenience and preference
for the Sound I can always buy a Sire Jazz Bass but even tho it looks similar to a Fender I like the quality of a Fender specially for a $2k bass
I can attest. I’ve got Squier’s, a performer and an ultra. I can tell a difference in tone and overall feel being miles better in the ultra vs all the others! To each their own

Great work in understanding how to “sing” through your strings
I just got one... 4 string Jazz Ultra in Antique Natural Ash. It's a beast. Slickest Jazz Bass I've ever played... and I've played a few. Fast, slim, beefy sound... perfectly balanced at a shade under 9 pounds. Fretwork, intonation, ability to be set up the way I need it... all perfect. The ONLY idea I can offer for an improvement is for the hollow cavity under the pickguard near the control plate (for the preamp) should be filled with foam or something. I'll probably try it myself on this one... but you can feel that little rectangle of hollowness under the pickguard while using certain techniques. I'm very touch oriented and that make me go hmmmmm. I bet a bit of squishy foam fixes it. :) But really, an outstanding version of the trusty Jazz Bass... I can see where you were aiming with this and it's great. Nice work Fender!
I have Fender Jazz bass - Mexico version. It's produces buzzing sound when I'm not touching the strings. Is that normal on all Fender basses?
@@jazperson It is normal for all electric guitars. The instrument is electrically shielded by your body but only if you are touching the strings. You should always be touching a string, the bridge, or some metal part of the guitar at all times to prevent this.

How is it so far? I played one at a church today and the fact that I’m now on this video should tell you where my mind is at considering how scary the price is
The noiseless is VERY GOOD. IT IS NOT a gimmick I own them on my elite telecaster as well. The S1 switching bonds the pups and it sounds like a clear but punchy humbucker. Thins out as you would like and expect on the neck for the perfect tool and very good. Would I buy again? Only on a huge sale. You can get similar quality and tone for half the money. You are paying for this video and the hundreds of other videos and the salary of alllllll these freaking people.
That said I own 4 fender guitars and a 100 Rumble and pedals. It's all good stuff. Buy it on sale or rent it first. Pawn shops are an amazing resource usually. Bills don't care where the money comes from #amirite
Pawn shops are right!! I work at one and you’d be surprised what cash and a decent offer will do for ya! Nowadays, a Facebook or yelp review can get ya a little extra off the top too
Noiseless pickups are among Fender’s best... once you swap out the preamps!
(Trust me. Get a good audere preamp or something and see the difference of these pickups, it’s crazy)
As far as passive sound, nothing beats the custom shop 60s jazz bass pickups! I guarantee it sounds as good if not better than any American fender currently in Fender’s lineup, including the Ultra series.

Yeah I can do that with my Mexi- Jazz. All I need is to stretch my fingers another 3/4 of an inch. Have a transfusion of Funky, Groove and Soul. Impeccable sense of taste and timing. A real Bass amp and I need to take my Mexi down to guitar denter and trade it and a shoe box full of cash for a real Jazz Bass.

nothing a little adjustment cant fix.
fret buzz is probably intentional here. brings out more overtones. it’s why a lot of metal bassists have such low action.
Along with all that's been said, probably brand new strings as well

Many bassists want that click in the tone. The simplest way to remove a fair amount of the clickiness is to simply roll down the tone and/or raise the action. Using flatwounds instead of nickelwounds or roundwounds helps big time
