    This guy was working off the same script as the Strat and Tele demos. Right down to lines like "It's not too small and it's not too big. It feels just right in your hand and you feel right at home." It makes you wonder what the player ACTUALLY thought about the guitar. I understand marketing, but this is a little weird. 🤔 wow good question lol.
      If going by sound then possibly the P bass, since it has the pickup in the back you can get more of a "jazz" bass sound out of it so it might be a little more diverse.
      Both play great and sound great! I love the look of the maple fretboards and especially love the block inlays and brass pick guard on the J bass.

    Is there potentially something wrong? I don't hear significant volume drops in the demo and there is no editing so it's not behaving the same as the demo in this video. Any help would be great. I adjusted pickup heights and it didn't alleviate the issue. Is it possible that battery can affect the pickup even in passive mode? To me it seems unlikely but I dont know.

It almost sounds like a blown speaker. Either way… not a good demo. I feel like these "Ultra" models are a big step backwards from the American Elite they're replacing. Room 34 Creative Services - I agree with you on the state of events at Fender... they seem to be running off the cliff Gibson stylé... There new Ultra=$$ Basses are an old polished turd wrapped in a pearl blanket... I have a 2012 Select precision and a 2019 limited shell pink Jazz w/all rosewood neck that matches most Fenders custom shop slabs . Also Surprising - I just got ahold of the new Duff McKagan MIM Bass- the build quality and sound are exceptional. I guess it all depends on what can be tolerated. And Yes, my hypocrisy runs deep... That said. They seem to run hot and cold year to year, trying to stay on top of the appeal factor. I speculate they need to stay out of bankruptcy by juuuust going outside the Fender box for innovation. Gotta keep’m happy.
      What IS needed at Fender is a think tank of lucid, forward thinking designers, luthiers and a creative CEO with an eye for true innovation. Dingwall, Ernie Ball and evening Ibanez are on the right track. Parker Guitars did it. Light years ahead of everyone...Sadly, they just didn’t have what Fender has as far as leverage. A modern day Leo Fender will emerge some at some point. Technology and the changing scenery in music demands of it.

    Sounds compressed and sort of "choked". The former model was fine.

    Damn would LOVE to get this bass in the plasma red burst but the battery is the deal breaker, also why does an ELECTRIC bass need a battery?

    • @peterthomas1187
      @peterthomas1187 4 года назад +2

      I hope you're joking here, but here goes: The on board preamp requires power to run it. An ELECTRIC bass does not run on electricity, but it requires amplification via an electrically powered source.

    The “features “, active, EQ. Act/Pass switch, noiseless pups are identical to the US Deluxe I got in 2013. Now it’s a Ultra and more expensive? No offense but not much innovation there. Nice but no.
