Here is one of the best restored 1955 Oldsmobiles in the country. Top of the line and loaded with features. It also comes with an interesting, documented story. It has had the same owner since 1956. We have photos, original title, invoice and warranty from 1956. Because of the personal attachment to this car, the owner spent an irrational amount of money restoring it to high, high standards. He has since passed and now you have the opportunity to own an incredible car.
EXTERIOR: Desirable hardtop design with no window pillar in the middle. Factory born, rare color combination: bronze- shell beige. The body is amazing. It is absolutely straight with no damage or rust. The paint is polished like glass, it looks like you could reach your arm into the paint. Better then new! Literally every piece of stainless is straightened and polished like chrome. Every single piece of chrome has show finish. I mean every piece- the wiper base is rechromed the arms and blades are polished. The frames around the windows were rechromed. All new glass with factory light tint. Every gasket, window seal and weatherstrip was replaced. It has optional door edge guards and fuel door trim. The jambs are meticulously restored, latches and hardware look new. The rims are painted to match the car, hubcaps are pristine and the whitewalls are reproduction of the originals.
INTERIOR: Amazing! The seats have been rebuilt, they are firm like new. Correct upholstery with chrome flecks and piping fit without wrinkle. Door panels match the seats, both are beautiful. Correct tight loop carpet. Overhead it has new white perforated headliner and matching visors. It has the chrome ribs and all the chrome trim around it looks new. There is a cool looking ashtray on the back of the back seat, you open it and it even looks new inside. The dash area is not just very nice, it's restored like brand. It has optional padded dash and it was professionally restored. It looks to me like every piece of chromeon the dash was sent out and replated. The gauges are restored like new, even the clock works. The metal trim was repainted smooth and glossy. Inside the glove box looks new, the steering wheel is perfectly restored including the chrome horn ring. It has wonderbar radio with a foot control button on the floor. I even laid on the floor and looked up under the dash, no surprise it's restored like new too. The metal that nobody will see is painted, heater box was restored, new firewall insulation. All of the wiring is new and it is updated with a modern fuse block with push in fuses. The interior lights work. It is as close to perfection as you can get.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Restored like brand new. The Rocket 324 4 barrel V-8 runs as smooth as a mouse in slippers. Every component looks like new. The motor was neatly painted the correct green and has Oldsmobile Rocket painted yellow on the valve covers. All new wiring. Features include power steering, power brakes, electric wipers and windshield washers. The firewall is painted body color with a glossy finish. The trim tag is polished. The nuts and bolts are new. New battery with proper bracket. It looks like it did the day it rolled off the showroom.

How much is it please
This 1955 Oldsmobile should be put in a museum and never taken out!
Seeing that glove box again reminds me of a green flashlight my father used to keep in there.
Just like the car I had in high school.
This car needs to be put in a museum.
Well it was in our museum for a little, until we sold it at least. 😊
A really nice old Oldsmobile and being a four door it's extra rare as well.
My grandparents had a matched pair of these Olds: cream over brown and cream over blue. Seeing this car really took me back to my childhood riding with my grandpa. Thanks!
Thanks Dave! Really cool to hear they had a pair of them!!
I owned one of those when I was a teenager It was so quiet when it was idling I could not even tell it was running.
Jay, this is an absolutely amazing restoration! Done to better than new condition. My hats off to the gentleman that had this done. I hope he had some time to enjoy it before he passed away.
Same & thanks Randy! Hope the next owner cherishes it like he did. 😥
When I was a young kid my father had a car like this except in the Rocket 88 trim. Same color combo as this except in a 2 door. And red interior. Sometime my father would have the skirts on the rear fenders. But then stopped using them because he said they were to hard to take off or put back on when changing a tire. Seems like yesterday looking out the window from the back seat. I knew it was a beautiful styled car then, still do.
That is an absolutely gorgeous car! One of the finest you've ever had. Thanks for sharing 🤠

God I love restorations like this that were obviously done with a lot of love and care being put into them. What a beautiful ride, and eh four doors never bothered me much :)
Couldn't agree more! The passion & love really shows in this car.
This one's a real gem Jay 😍
The foot control for the radio was called The Wonder Bar.
What a beauty. I'd like to own it. One day...
1955 best year for all car
We had the Super 88 when I was a kid, I would look out the back window to watch the tail lights when they would blink when we would go around the corner.

Beautiful piece! As I'd say in my videos "no post" hardtop. Lol!
Beauuutiful!💕
Awesome car 🚗
"Quieter than a mouse in slippers." 🤣🤣🤣 Now where did you pick that phrase up? There must be a back-story here somewhere. I've never heard it before and I've been around for a long time. Then again, I never got out much.😉
I stole that line from an auction I was at.
I knew there was a "story." 👍 I hope you sneaked it out of the auction "Quieter than a mouse in slippers!" I have friends in Law Enforcement and I've heard there's a BOLO out for someone, maybe not you, but someone named "Jay."
Here's one for you, which seems very appropriate in that you are a man who seems to never rest and you don't have to "sneak" this one out."
Whenever anyone asks: "Jay, how are you?"
ANSWER: Busier than an Ant in a lunch box! 🤣
Save the Wave🙋🏼♂️
Spectacular car!
Thank you! 👍
It is a royal 👑 car whith crown
I LIKE IT I WISHD ID HAD 2 OLDSMOBILES
This one is sold but maybe we can help make that happen with a different one. 🤔
@@VoloMuseumAutoSales I LIKE IT
NICE !!!!!!!!!!!
Only one detail was missed in a spectacular restoration. They forgot to lubricate the door hinges!
SWEEEET!
Beautiful and I know how to go to the website.
The hood hinge needs adjusting.
I didn't see springs to help hold it up.
wow
😮
Jay, you sound a little under the weather, hope you feeling ok. P.S. The Old's is Bootylicious!
Worth every penny. When can I get a ride?
Very odd colors for the interior. Has nothing to do with the exterior colors at all.
Yeah, I thought that was a little weird too.
@@thenormalguy6683
Yeah, I agree.
Not a deal breaker, does make you wonder the thought behind it though.
@@grampy2014 I'm gonna cry foul on this one. If the previous owner put that much $$$ into a total restoration of this car, one would think he would at least have interior colors (in NOS fabric) that match the exterior. It would look great if the car was GREEN though.....
This is a museum piece. I'd be afraid to drive it.
WOW
This car has everything, it just needs a handsome male driver or a beautiful female driver, doesn't deserve anything less, so I'll pass on this one.
Common now Abe, I'm sure you could rock this one!! 😎👍
"a little hoo-hoo"🤣🤣🤣
Thats a 55
Sure is!
