Restoration Video All Over View
This is the first-ever restoration video on RUclips featuring a 150-year-old antique peacock! This piece holds a deep emotional story for me, tied to my childhood and an unexpected reunion with a long-lost friend.
We used to play cricket together in our younger days, but life took us on separate paths. He moved to the USA, and we lost touch for 13 years. Recently, he surprised me by visiting my home, bringing back all those cherished memories. When he learned about my passion for restoring antique items and my RUclips channel, he wanted to contribute something special.
He gifted me this incredible 150-year-old antique peacock, which was once a gift to his father. The peacock was covered in rust, its screws jammed, and it seemed beyond repair. But with determination and prayer, I restored it to its original glory.
This restoration journey was not just about bringing back the beauty of this piece-it was a heartfelt connection between friends, memories, and hard work. Watch this video to witness the transformation of this antique peacock into a stunning masterpiece and to discover the untold story behind it.

I must say I would of preferred it left as a beautiful brass peacock it looked much better after he cleaned it . But that's just my opinion.
Your opinion is very helpful for us in future we will try this
😢a beautiful piece of brass work, ruined by paint..😢
This is the world first peacock Restoration so that's why we are trying to a unique idea that's why we paint it
Yup totally ruined !
I sadly agree❤
Terrible! Awful! Disgusting! Ruined! 😖
@HSRestoration-b8n If you wanted color find someone who could've enameled it
A bronze that old were not painted. They were antiqued with a dark oil stain to bring out details, and some had inset gems.
Your idea is great next time we will try to do this thing
I loved it when you cleaned it...I'd never have painted it 😢
150 years ago cross head screws were unknown. I think this video is a fake.
150 year old Phillips screws ! Wow, what a find ! It's a 70's tourist piece, best kept in original brass finish. But you DID clean it up nicely
Why did you bother with extensive cleaning when all you did was paint it? And such garish colors! A waste of a beautiful piece of bronze art.
This is kitsch from India - it would sell for very little.
You should have left it in its original bronze state, the painting is just dreadful and so wrong !!!
The paint hid the beautiful carvings (((
@@HSRestoration-b8n No I didn't like it you didn't try your best to restore it. You tried your best to ruin it and succeed it!!!!!!!!!!!?
I personally think the paint ruined it. The paint made it look a little cheap. I also think you should be more careful not to damage the original carvings when you restore things like this.
Just my opinion.
Should not have been painted, it looked better with out the paint.
First : Not a 250 years old , standard screws doesn't match period.
Second: Not a restoration ( " restoration" means: returning to the original way it was).
Third: leave it on golden cleaned state. That " paint" makes looking cheaper and dirty.
The paint ruined it!!!!!!!!!!

What have you done. It looks like something a 4-5 year old has painted. What a total mess. The eyes were Rudy’s I expect & you just wrecked something worth a few hundred dollars & turned it into something worth about 2 dollars.
The result is ugly. Why paint it ?
This is the world first peacock Restoration so that's why we are trying to a unique idea that's why we paint it
Nice, but I like it more without the paint
Bof c'était mieux en doré 🫤
Wasn't even in bad shape. No rust, just dust
Your not supposed to clean the crevices.taking a good antique and doing to much!
Was there a reason for painting it?did you see a photo or picture of original?
Your comment is very important to us but we can't understand your language can you tell us in English
Lovely...Thank you for bringing life back to this colorful keepsake.❤
Just eye-catching work to get it to the 'decorative stage;' it's always hard to say what would , in fact, induce someone to wish to purchase this and take it home with them. It could be that colorful paint will help get this item noticed or it could be that a potential buyer would rather there be no paint.
One can only follow their feeling in that moment...Good luck!
👏👏👏👏!
Scratchingt with steel on bronze is no good solution.
Oh no! 😢 Terrific... restoration?, transformation?, teratoformation??
A lot of people complaining about the paint. Most people don’t know that Ancient Greek and Roman statues were often painted in a style we might today consider garish. But that was the intent of the original artist. How do you complain about that?
If they had made this themselves from scratch, not as an antique, it would be totally different. It’s not meant to have color on it
Is this peacock a Greek or a Roman statue?😂
Restoration was magnificent before.colours
Agreed, can’t see any of the carving details.
That was lovely until it was painted id have loved it left it all nice and shiny
Restoration of tale Of Friendship Memories 😊❤
Are title is based upon a real true story❤
MashAlla Kya bat hy👍
Pobre pavo, no se lo merecía 😢
Seguramente tem mais de 300 anos ..
Mas é sonhos !!!
Só pode !!!
Okay people this is his first video, I think he did a great job. He'll learn as he goes and does more project, please don't be so harsh.
Thanks a lot🥰
If you cannot take an honest opinion comment, then don't post your video. Did you think everyone would sugar coat their opinions?
Não deveria ter pintando! E linda original 😔🇧🇷🇧🇷❤
I'll say the paint job is not for me, but art is not for everybody, some love it others dont. But cool that you went for it😎👍🏻
Looks like a cheap brass statue made in India or Bali. I have a vase with the exact same floral pattern on it. Doesn't matter - it's been ruined. It looks more like the cartoon Roadrunner than a peacock.
Com estragar uma obra de arte em 3,2,1
This came out nice.👍🏿 yo the comments are so brutal today. 😅😅 ppl need to take a break.
I do not believe this 150 years old, the Phillips head wasn't invented and patented until 1936, 86 years ago. BUT the piece is nice. I wish you would have left it unpainted.
I loved the painted version. Great job!!
Phillips ( + ) head screws did not exist until the 1930s and so they should have been replaced by slotted head ones to match remaining originals. The meaning of restoring is to bring something back to or near it’s original condtition. By smearing paint all over you have created something new that resembles a gift that came with a Happy Meal at McDonalds. A good example of how not to restore anything.😞
Why are you using that tool to scratch it?
I think this is fun and creative. And if you had fun doing it, then it was worth it.
The paintjob could have been done with a bit more precision, but you should keep doing it and practicing if you have fun doing it. Keep it up, and stay creative with your restorations.
E renasce novamente uma linda e exuberante peça decorativa. Lindo trabalho de restauração, parabéns ❤🦚👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Why did you paint it??
How you knew the colors ?
Unfortunately, the tool that was used for "refining" the pattern made it worse, because it was vibrating. The clearness of lines is gone because of it.
And I mostly agree with others, the painting was unnecessary. Less is more, especially with brass figurines.
I see, that your channel is pretty new, so don't be discouraged by the comments! You did an amazing cleaning job, but paint job was not so good in general. And that's okay, nobody's great in everything.
Sometimes, some antiques need a little decoration. I would, too. I would give it a bit of a bling as well
Definitely not meant to be painted.
Sorry but it looks like a cartoon. Better as just brass.
This was not a restoration. This was a destruction of a beautiful piece of art. The use of a wire brush to clean it, then destroying it further by going over the original engraving was criminal. Then to top it all off with that hideous paint job? Definitely not restoration. Sorry, I won’t be back.
Phillips screws on something that's 150 years old. I don't think so.
Did you put that ugly paint on to annoy people? The brass is beautiful! It’s not a restoration, it’s a desecratIon.
All that engraving is obscured by the paint
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I don't like the paint, it covered up the details. But if the owner like its then so be it
In my opinion it should never have been painted.
god job
I don't like the paint job everything else was awesome though
Mosiężny bez farby był ładniejszy. I czyszczenie strasznie agresywne.
A restauração foi louvável.
A pintura desnecessária.
Painted brass??? 😱
It’s artistic license people, I for 1 thinks it looks real pretty. I would display it for all the world to see. 👵🏻🤗👏👏
We appreciate your comment our team members like the art so they so they want it to make colorfull and thanks for your support
Better without the horrible paint
Awesome work !😍😍😍💫🇺🇸
Are you serious? You dont paint a piece like this!
Mon Dieu, que c’est laid !
Oh dear 🙈
Your paint job was HORRIBLE. If you don't know how to restore an item, then do your research. I hope the next owner will remove the mess you have made. If you post a video, then expect to hear the honest opinions.
Abomination should have left it unpainted if you cannot do better than that .
1. You could have saved yourself a lot of work if you’d soaked in white vinegar for 24 hours.
2. That item originally would have been cloisonné not just painted but baked enamel. That’s why it looks cheap and poorly done.
3. You’re clearly not a skilled painter. You should have subbed that out to a skilled professional artist who works in cloisonné.
4. There’s a pretty good chance that it would’ve also had either Swarovski crystals or at the very least colored rhinestones.
Very disappointing.
Phillips screws on something that's 150 years old. I don't think so. Absolutely ruined talking about Fugly looking.
Why? Why? Why? The beautiful brass carving ruined by an inept painter. Please undo all your desecration!!!
