As a producer, listening to this conversation about Heron really made me understand how networking and launching your own “side hustle” projects can connect you with people that may have the same interests as you, or just people that simply enjoy your product. Thanks for uploading this gem ✨

Networking, a lot of communicating that comes from a place of curiosity. It’s really the key. You can tie curiosity to the fear of making mistakes. Just by wondering “what could the outcome be?”. It’s really a beautiful and inspiring story.

No one is taking about how any of these students could be the next Virgil... or the next Heron.
I went to Columbia and there were plenty of opportunities just like this. I've met Yung Guru, Seen NO I.D. and the VP of Def Jam... just awesome opportunities when you're starting out.
This is how it all starts, and it's even helping me because I still need to know how to really get out there... but hearing his story really inspires me and encourages me like yes... it works out just trust the process.

The idea that 'coolness' and 'youth culture' being some kind of pennecal to aspire to makes me uncomfortable, especially when those values are entrenched in capitalism and consumerism.
I understand Heron hustle and his creative passion for "culture". However there should be more criticism and push back on the values we see in this so called culture. It can't simply just be about more fashion, parties, insecurities, sex, consumerism, tattoos, hype sneakers, skate culture and pseudo-individualism.
I would hope our visions for a future world we want to live in transcends such empty signifiers of capitalism. Probably the most interesting idea I appreciate from Heron is his interest in uniforms and what that means.
The youth are into Sustainability. So naturally all corporations in their attempt to stay relevant have to adopt those same principles. But besides chasing coolness and the youth what else is there?

trying to focus on the video
    and it's so hard.
I just can't. too many thoughts
    and feelings in me.
I've fallen in a trap again.
    falling for yet again: another
    unavailable person.
dear God, why do I do this to myself?
I'm old now and I've never ever had love.
never ever have I been in a real romantic relationship...
the pain of this is so horrific:
    it truly rapes my soul.
