  • How will you make it on your own?
This world is awfully big, girl this time you're all alone.
But it's time you started living,
it's time you let someone else do some giving.
Love is all around, no need to waste it.
You can have a town, why don't you take it.
You might just make it after all.
Your are most likely to succeed.
You have the looks and charms
and girl you know that's all you need.
All the men around adore you,
that sexy look will do wonders for you.
Love is all around, no need to waste it.
You can have the town, why don't you take it?
You might just make it after all.
    Thank you, Mair. ❣

If there was ever a woman that defined what it meant to be classy, Mary Tyler Moore didn't set the bar, she was, is, and always will be the bar.

As time marches on, most of us that grew up in the 50's 60's and 70's will know that those decades will be remembered as some of the very best and most cherished times with regards to actors, movies, TV shows and music. The entertainment industry today has turned to sh_ _ like so many other things in our society; reality tv, the music, politics, etc... are nothing but crap for sure.

Great memories and photos of Mary Tyler Moore. What an actress, what a warm person in general. Everybody loved her. She was so pretty too. Loved her from Dick Van Dyke Show as Laura Petrie to Mary Richards on the Mary Tyler Moore Show characters. She was a winner all around so positive and funny, witty, intelligent actress and former dancer.

Mary Tyler Moore gave us so much; she was a diabetic, as I and countless others are. She showed us all that you can have various ailments and still get out there and work and live life. Mary Tyler Moore, indeed, "turned the world on with her smile", and, I say, "Made it after all."

Ah aqueles saudosos anos 70. Passava em frente a alguma casa ou loja com tv ligada e essa música tocando. Pensava: está passando Mary Tyler Moore. Nessa época não tinha tv em casa , ainda. Mas posso ver no you tube agora. Tem vários episódios! É como voltar àqueles maravilhosos dias da minha juventude!

I still can't get over how sweet, pretty, innocent and lovable young 20 something "Laura Petrie effortlessly inspired such impure thoughts in me as a kid watching The Dick Van Dyke reruns all those years ago. I would have traded a Farrah Fawcett OR Raquel Welch poster for one of Mary wearing a sweater and those tight "slacks" and just smiling that smile. Nice tribute, thanks for posting.

It's been two years since Mary passed. I'm still crushed. I always liked Mary Tyler Moore, but I never thought it would hurt so much when she left. Perhaps it's because I grew up with Mary in my living room, when I think about her, I think about the memories of life when I was younger, and the world was funnier. Mary, a piece of me went with you. I miss you.

I always thought it was funny seeing the similarity between the show intro from That Girl and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Not exactly sure why. Maybe in some way, the MTM intro (5 years later) was a spoof on the That Girl intro. The That Girl intro seemed like a fantasy wrapped up in all its crinkly goodness. And the MTM intro seemed a lot like That Girl meets reality.
