So I came up with a story that I think would've made the Netflix trilogy a lot more interesting. I wanna know what others here think. My sister is the only one I've told and she loves it. So I imagine a specific guy as part of the main cast. Before Earth went to shit with the monsters, one of his parents (most likely the mother) had some past association with the people of Infant Island. Maybe she was a resident who wanted to leave to do her own thing, I dunno. But because of this, in raising this guy, she would occasionally sing her the song used to call or awaken Mothra. The classic one from literally every movie involving her. Maybe as a lullaby or something. Anyway, the world goes to shit and they're forced to leave, maybe his parents were on the ship of elders that got blown up or something. But time passes and they arrive on Earth again. The new race of natives on Earth have discovered Mothra's egg, which has now laid dormant for years and years, as well as some writing on cave walls and certain artifacts conveying her history to the locals. They grow to worship her as the same divine goddess the original people of Infant Island did. And even at the time of the humans return, there would be two twin girls, because Mothra's reincarnation would likely extend to the twins whenever they died. The humans are shown Mothra and discover that Mothra is still dormant in her egg because a specific incantation needs to be spoken to wake her, but no one knows what it is. Eventually, the guy would make the connection between Mothra and "Mosura" from the song he was sung, so he would sing that. And that would wake Mothra slowly, maybe after three rounds of singing. But in that time, he would then be connected to Mothra psychically, in much the same way that the fairies usually are. And because he now holds this connection, he can not only communicate with Mothra, but knows what songs need to be sung in what situations. The only problem being that he's mostly human, as his mother lost any connection she had with the magic of Infant Island when she left, as well as having married and had a child with a human. So his mind and body can't handle the strain of this link with such a divine creature, so whenever he has to sing to her or communicate, his mind can't take it and he needs to recover, often times even failing to finish the song because his body is under so much pressure. It could even get to the point where after one particularly taxing song, Mothra forces his consciousness to settle with her own while his body, now empty, can be left to recover before she deems it fit to be returned to. So in one instance, likely in the third movie, Mothra would either be dead and need to be reborn from her new egg quickly or be severely injured and lacking in power, so he needs to sing a song to help her, though no one agrees to this. In one specific scene, he pulls aside who I'm just going to say is his sister or something. He asks her if they can talk for a bit and they leave the scene. The next time you see them, it's during what's likely a fight scene of some kind where Mothra is desperately needed, where the two of them are standing on a cliff, the sister looking nervous. He asks her if she's ready and she hesitates, but they hold hands and he begins to sing. For the purposes of this scene, this song in this video is the one being sung. Sacred Springs. As he sings, it holds on him singing for a bit before fading back to the scene where the two of them left and follows them for a bit. She's talking to him, but you can't hear what's being said, there's no dialogue. Only the singing echoing over the scene. They eventually stop and the shot changes to one that slowly pulls away from them as the guy begins to talk to her. As the camera pulls further away, maybe off to the side a bit, you see her start to shake her head, talk back, hold him, maybe even scream or yell a bit before starting to cry and hold him tightly. It then fades back to the pair on the cliff, just as the song is finishing. And as it does, just as the final words leave his lips, he collapses in slow motion, she kneels to catch him, then holds him close and begins to break down as Mothra rises again. With the guy now dead, Mothra has no link with anyone who can aid her, so this would be where the twins establish their link by singing to her, now knowing what they need to do. And their connection is actually natural and sustainable, as with the other fairies over the years. Later, you find out he asked her to give him some of her energy to keep his body stable enough so he can finish the song without his body forcing him to stop, even though he knew the amount of energy used and the amount of strain on his mind and body would definitely kill him. So. Any thoughts? I thought of it while singing Mothra songs at work and thought to myself "What reason would there be for a guy singing these songs?"
Imagine the Mane 6 doing an English cover of this with new lyrics to celebrate how the friendship of Jesus(indirectly expressed to avoid alienation amongst audiences,) cohesifies everything for the better.
