Can you have David Allen walk through how he uses One Note?

when i was a "big shot" managing CMS systems...i always asked someone who wanted to sell us a product...the killer question.
"Let's say, 5 years down the road, our needs change, or we grow bigger. HOW HARD IS IT to extract the data we have placed in your product to migrate into a product that serves our needs more? Even better: you change your product...how do we migrate our dat afrom the "old product" to your "new product"?
Lots of choking on tongues and silence.

Carl - You are a 'big shot' to me! If they were honest, their answer was "It won't be as easy as you would like it to be."

@@daveedwardsmedia the product i liked was odd. It was SharePoint. Mainly because when the data from system X came out in XML, i could reald the labels, create a datatable fo those labels, then just import it.
Now applications like Blackboard, Angel LEarning, Alfredo, even ColdFusion...not so easy.
I gave up that life, by the way. Once i realized that everyone wants to lock you in their product and you PAY to upgrade YOUR data into THEIR modified platform, this was nonsense.
I saw no problem paying the company to be on call to solve problems or license stuff, but pay you ONCE for software to house data..regardless of your storage...or mine...then pay AGAIN to have you migrate MY data into an upgraded system I have to buy FROM YOU..well, that's just a huge middle finger there buddy.
My to do list is...a steno pad and a pen.
Remember the story aboutthe astronauts who needed a pen to write in space, and they spent millions on developing a zero G pen...and the Russians just used..a pencil.

That is a fantastic question for curation.
