- My quilted bedspread is finished:) With Ian's approval:) See my entire 'HEXAGON QAYG" Playlist on full tutorials on how I made this quilt from start to finish:)
Join me for Truelove Family stories (which I have many, as a mother of 10 kids), Mothering Autism, with our Maxwell on our many fun car rides, and Free quilting class and sewing lessons! And as in a 'classroom' setting, my tutorials are approximately 1/2 hour+ long....So Join me in my home sewing room, out and about and trying to make all sorts of quilted goodies! Be aware ~ that I like to chat and probably repeat myself over and over, (and stutter sometimes), and if this annoys you, then view it elsewhere - but, if patient, you hopefully will learn a new method or technique and get an insight into a very large family and their crazy fun:)

Your quilt/bedspread turned out great! I like that you added another layer of the border to the backside and made it reversible. Very pretty on both sides! I have a iron daybed with a trundle bed under it for guests in my craft room. Seeing the bed in Ian’s office is making me wonder how I could sneak that into Randy’s office so I could have more space in my craft room 😂😂😂 I don’t think that would fly, his recliner would have to go 😂. We have our Circuit Assembly tomorrow, the 15th. Can't wait ~ "Eagerly Wait for Jehovah"!! With everything happening in the world, and with so much evil about, we HAVE to rely on Him! Whatever else is there to put faith in?!!? Not much longer though! :)

Unbelievable that you can create such wonderful quilts and now this beautiful bedspread is just amazing. As I told you before, I ordered the template from Martelli but so far I've only made six "potholders". It isn't as easy as I thought it might be but when you said to keep the center part in the outer hexagon template that helped sooooo much when cutting out the backing. Thank you for that! I love the way the guest room looks with your new bedspread---and the drapes are perfect with it.
Keep practicing on your 'pot holders' and then start small! :) A table runner, placemats, etc. My queen size quilt DID work up fairly quickly...after I made a million 'pot holders'!! LOL! You go Peggy!!! :)

Aw thanks Vicki:) Ian and I are feeling much better although I am still not 100% (but who the heck is?!?!) LOL! I get VERY tired and wrung out and HAVE to take it steady most days. I sometimes have to just do nothing and still feel exhausted. But we are getting older also. Doesn't help!! LOL! Hope YOU are having a good day:) The sun is shining here:) Bless you:)
How I truly miss you and I know a lot of others who also feel the same way. Please let me know when you go live again and what days and times? It would feel great to be with you since it has been a long time. Ian is a sweetheart, isn't he? You and I are very blessed to have wonderful hubbies!!! I am finally back pieceing blocks on several different quilts but I have to take my pain meds to get through--doesn't take all the pain away!edge off the pain. Now, Jean, my queen, I believe my hubby and I are older than you two!! I have been up for about 30+ hours due to pain. Now to get back to cutting and sewing; working on the "Summer Moon" blocks. Geez, the little 5" unfinished sqaures are little!! lol Give each other a kiss!!@@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory

The finished queen size hexagonal quilt is beyond amazing, Jean! I love the green ricrac and the butterfly ruffle and matching pillowcases. This was definitely not a "mindless" undertaking. You are SEW talented....even the doors have little hanging quilts! You sure have made a lot of quilts through the years, including the small wall hangings in the stairway and, I'm sure, throughout the house, not to mention the gifted ones to family! I noticed the stack of quilts on top of the armoire too! "OH, MY WORD"! Bobbie 🥰
LOL! I had to laugh! It STARTED out as a mindless little project...but turned into a monster!! LOL! At the end of the day, it is a HEAVY bedspread! My muscles got a workout:) And yes, quilts quilts quilts everywhere:) Used and Loved:) THanks bobbie:)

Jean, what I love about the Jumbo Rick Rack is the way it highlights the ruffled skirt by making the ruffles more pronounced on the lower, upper part of the Rick Rack Curve. Do you know what I mean? Just Beautiful, I love it. I don't think it would have been as beautiful as just a Hexagon quilt if you hadn't attached the ruffle and the Jumbo Rick Rack. Beautiful Hexagon Quilt it would have been, but now and OUTSTANDING Bedspread!!!
I SAID THE EXACT SAME THING~!! Ian and I were 'admiring' it, and the curve of the rick rack enhanced the ruffled top bit so sweetly:) An added bonus!! LOL! Thank you so much Michelle:)

Thanks Diana! As you know I LOVE rick rack (any size) as it just adds a happy touch to a quilt, but this monster wide size REALLY makes it pop!! LOL! I got the green, along with pink, white, black and orange YEARS ago at a local quilt store. They don't carry it anymore, but at the time I purchased what they had!! Like 10 yards each!! I'm so glad I did. However, I did see on Amazon, that it is available still.

Hi Jean & Ian! I have to say once again what a dear, sweet, sweet man Ian is 😍😍 The bedspread came out just so lovely!! Adding jumbo rick rack-who knew???? I have lots of it & have only added it to one large wall hanging at this point 🤣🤣 Now I have another idea for it!! The reverse side is just as pretty as the top. Thanks for taking us on the mini tour of the upstairs-love all the quilts!!
OH! You are lucky to have lots of the super jumbo rick rack! I bought it YEARS ago at a local quilt shop (yards and yards of lots of colors), but they don't carry it anymore. Thanks so much for coming along with us:)
Oh Jean, just managed catching up with your video on this beautifully finished bedspread. I have been so very busy of late. Again, I say, the bedspread looks absolutely beautiful, Jean. I love, love the butterflies fabric on the ruffles, the overall colour scheme on the hexagonal pot holders is 👍 👍. Thank you Jean for sharing and showing the finished bedspread. Thanks Thelma! Ian and I are not QUITE 100% yet, but feeling SO much better! I still get extremely tired and just worn out quickly so I am still taking it steady. But the awful illness is behind us, thankfully. It was a rough old summer! My 'bedspread' project grew so much! It started out small....silly little 'potholders' but turned into a pretty weighty monster!! LOL! I am thrilled with it as is Ian also:) Hope you are okay and recovering too! Thinking of you! We are both much better thanks Ginette:) Not yet quite 100% and I DO get so tired at times, but every day is slightly more cheery. Of course with all that is going on in this evil world, it is sometimes hard to focus on OUR positives, when others are having it sooooo bad. They are all in our prayers. Trying to avoid much of the 'news' right now......please take care and love to Canada;)

Love the family pictures! I know you have a lot of beautiful memories! Gracious! This bedspread is a lap full of fabric while you are sewing! Did you use 2 or 3 extra tables? It is wonderful and ingenious how you made it reversible!
LOL! I DID have my ironing board to my left side and a table in front to take the weight...even so, it was A LOT of fabric and bulk!! But just concentrating on one area at a time, makes it easier:) And yes, we DO have a LOT of memories with all of our kids...some great, some not so much!!! LOL! LOL!
Wow! The hexi quilt alone was so pretty and then that unexpected finish with the rick rack and ruffle just made it all spectacular. 💖👍👍

Ruffles and ric rac are a lovely finish and the matching pillows. I like the look of the large ric rac,green was a great choice.
