Fun fact: Mt.Roraima and the surrounding Tepuis (plateaus) are home to more than 7 endemic species of toad. I had a task about this in my final school exam but all i could think about was CIV since the shape of it was so familiar only to find out it IS actually the civ wonder
I think maybe the reason you couldn't see the city in Cahokia and couldn't place Amani is because you discovered them on turn one before they had a chance to settle the city.
Here is a role play idea. You are a civ who get conqured a lot by colonialism or other reason. Your enemy are Spain, France, British and Portugese (You get the gist). You have to denounce them first meet, can never be on firendly term, make them purposely mad, Can't invade them or declare war on them, No capturing city or sending your military units into their territory. Have to win with culture victory.
Omg this would be amazing with a civ like Vietnam, especially on a wet or tsl map, going for the defender of the faith belief is also on theme for this idea :)
Sukritact is the best thing to happen to this game's community and his mods are awesome, highly recommend his Iceland or Al-Andulus civs, they are quite a different take on civs with unique districts and really fun to play
Nice hark back to the Civ 5 Spain, with what I called the "Natural Wonder Gambit" (hunting for an early natural wonder to get the sweet gold bonus, now a Governor title). Looks a lot of fun.
Thinking about how powerful the deity++ AI's will be later into the game has bizzarely allowed me to empathise (if that makes any sense) with the regular deity AI with the sentiment of "quick, eliminate them now before they become too powerful to stop!"
The map is all fun and game with its "every ground tile is next to a mountain or a coast tile" until Cahokia forces you to walk around 5 mountains because their warriors are just standing there.
love how the mod changed the mission to reduccion. additional information, reduccions are basically settlements created by the Spaniard in their colonies to make the natives live more tightly packed into these pueblos so that they could easily convert the natives, and impose easier collection of taxes, manpower tapping, and movement policing. I believe that in the Philippines, this was an idea proposed by a spanish friar named Juan de Plasencia. And to add, natives were initially hesitant to move into these settlements because their ancestral lands contain their ancestral burial grounds. But as time went on, natives start to live in these settlements because of amenities such as presence of school, church, city halls, hospitals, and plazas where fiestas are most commonly held at.
I'm with you on Island Plates being my favorite map. There's always such good Campus and Holy Site spots, and building random canals to get landlocked cities ocean access is my version of railroad simulator.
Yo, Ursa dude. How dare you starve me of my fix for three days posting shorts and no series. My name is Templar and I'm an addict. Addicted to Usra's series and Mr. Ryan has been a meannie for 4 days. Thanks for the upload, now I can stop shiving, staring at the wall saying " Ursa not posting, Ursa Mean" over and over.
Really fun start, a bit too crowded for my skill level but I'm sure Ursa will make it work. With all those City States and Spain's trade route game it's almost a shame not to have Owls of Minerva as an option but I know Ursa has done a lot of Secret Society plays lately so I appreciate the change of pace. I do worry about what Babalon is going to do to those barbarians if Ursa doesn't clear them out quickly next episode!
I have searched; I have failed. What is the name of the mod /game mode that makes AI deity start with 1 settler but have greater yield bonuses? Is it part of Deity++, or is it some separate mod?
if island plates didn't have so many random mountains scattered around, it would be so much more fun. district adjacencies are so much harder when every tile only has 3-5 adjacent tiles, and so many tiles in your city are just dead.
Thinking about Spain wayyy back when Civ VI launched and the first iteration of religion AI rules was in place. How would actually go insane making Inquisitors and send massive (I mean 12+) packs of them around the map. Hilarious stuff.
It's not a bug if you find a city state before they settle you don't automatically find it this only happens on first turn so it was probably never seen as a big issue
The a-z series should be unmodded civs only IMO. I really like learning the game through you, but modding civs takes a lot away IMO. Still enjoy your videos though 😊

That is actually a very fun fact, thank you!
I think maybe the reason you couldn't see the city in Cahokia and couldn't place Amani is because you discovered them on turn one before they had a chance to settle the city.
Yup and the city centre was in fog of war. So during turn 2 you also couldn't send a trade route (not that they were unlocked)
weird wasn't it! never seen it happen like that = )

@@jorisreichert5969 Vietnam is BUILT for this
I like it!
A petra city with an aqueduct near roraima grabbing that cocoa tile would be really good!!!

Great modder, love them!
Ahh Glory to Spain. May all lands find a way into your empire my Grace.
finally the zombies went away, thanks for the video!

Return of the king 👑
Diety++ :D Spoiling us today Ursa!
Nice hark back to the Civ 5 Spain, with what I called the "Natural Wonder Gambit" (hunting for an early natural wonder to get the sweet gold bonus, now a Governor title). Looks a lot of fun.
jumping on in to restart the algo boosting engine!
don't ever leave us again ursa ryan!
Huzzah!!!
So, the Oxford University secret police has released Ursa? Glad to see you back mate.
Paul couldn't keep me trapped for long
Welcome back. commenting for the algo and to hope you had a greater break. I also took a break and went to visit California wine country. 😅
Sounds lovely!!! Hope you enjoyed = )

Quick, while they're still so small!!!
Yay! I hope you had a good break! This is already shaping up to be a great game!
Cheers! Was lovely thank you!
Glad to see you back, this game looks like it is going to be a fun one!
The map is all fun and game with its "every ground tile is next to a mountain or a coast tile" until Cahokia forces you to walk around 5 mountains because their warriors are just standing there.
Oh well, I guess it's war then
Hooray for Ursa content return
Huzzah!

Finally an episode :) I was getting impatient ;)
I went to discord where he said it wouldn't be till today(Weds)...I was relieved to know he'd be back.
@@drjonritz hihi I know what You mean :) He is doing a great content and love his sense of humor :)
I'm with you on Island Plates being my favorite map. There's always such good Campus and Holy Site spots, and building random canals to get landlocked cities ocean access is my version of railroad simulator.
It's lowkey just such a fun map to play, really good!
Ah yes. Finally. Another upload. ❤
Lol literally 40 seconds top video in my feed.
XD
Rushing a holy site, horses under the holy site, and Mongolia is the nearest neighbor. Crusade seems inevitable
Thank you for this serie!!! Also with my native country jajaja Love it!
I'm so happy I can finally watch Ursa during lunch again.
Ooo, I was just thinking I should play a spain game. Good timing! This version of the conquistador feels like an earlier Redcoat.
I missed your videos so much in the past 5days. Glad you're back 🤩🤩
Glad to be back = )
I love deity++, excited for this series!
This will be a hard one!

You're very welcome, back on the hard stuff for you!
Stupid one-tile mountains blocking the best tiles of Roraima lol
Love the videos homie keep up the great videos.
Promising start, like the look of this slightly tweaked Spain too.
VEry fun to play, would recommend !
I was starting to get worried! Glad to see you back and sooo ready for Spain! This is the first civ I ever played as in the base game.
Huzzah! Ursa is back and I was planning to give Spain a go on just Diety, but I still need some help on this level ☺️
Do it! Spain are so much fun to play = )
Welcome back bears!
I can't wait to see the next episode :)
So glad you're back!! :)

I think at 1:10 I spotted the Real Strategy mod enabled, which is exciting -- I've been wondering if that would improve Deity++ even more :)
I enjoy using both together. Late game AI is a bit more of a challenge.
Ready for a Spain Game! 🎉
Missed you Ursa!
missed you all!
I see quite a few good spots for a Golden Gate Bridge 👀
Religious warfare is always fun in civ. In real life... Yeah that weren't the glory days.
Are you saying the crusades weren't all fun and games?!?
Welcome back Ursa! Hope you had a great mini holiday 😁
Very much! Thank you = )
Huzzah! Back to the long videos! (And there was much rejoicing).😊
Huzzah!
Oh, a sweet, charming, classy nerd with some ursine instincts
Ursa- "...we can get them off fast..."
Me- "I hope that is one of those doesn't mean the same in Britain as the US things."

He's back!

I have searched; I have failed. What is the name of the mod /game mode that makes AI deity start with 1 settler but have greater yield bonuses? Is it part of Deity++, or is it some separate mod?
It is indeed part of Deity ++
I've been lost with that break since last series 😂
I have missed this!
huzzah!
Deity++ Spain? This will be fun.
Glad you back at it. :)
Huzzah!
So glad that you're playing a modded/reworked Spain game. Basegame Spain is just so boring, and these changes look really cool!
My COPIUM is back!!! Olé I say!!!
Oleeeeee
This game is gonna get silly!

Disturbingly Broken: This mod
Disturbingly Unbroken: Hapsburg family tree

Those were fun days!

Only really happens on TSL maps!
Missed you Ursa baby xoxo
welcome back :))))
thank you =)
£359 - The University of Sankore would thank people to not confuse them with Sankore University.
It's been too fucking long !!!
M'y noght is made
Roraima is genuinely my favorite wonder 🥺🥺🥺
Not for functionality or anything. The culture and faith is great but it’s just so unique!
I just love the waterfalls!
Nobody Expects The Spanish Crusade!
Pretty sure every map is a favourite
I feel that way often!
the return!
More powerful than ever!
Ursa im a gross console player (switch) but i got this exact start. Also science victory with no campuses
Oh ursa how I missed you!
if at some point during this series you don't launch and inquisition and title that episode no one expects the Spanish inquisition i will be sad
Hello! Is it feasible to have the seed of the card to play on?
Algorithm 170
We need a difficulty that goes to 11
Why don't you just make ten harder?
I missed those daily videos
I hate meeting city states in turn 1 for the exact reason that it won't show you their city, which means no Amani, and no trader. It is so frustrating
I don't remember the last time it happened to me like that! Weird to see
The a-z series should be unmodded civs only IMO. I really like learning the game through you, but modding civs takes a lot away IMO. Still enjoy your videos though 😊
A to Z is dictated by the channel supporters, I can't complain at all at what they give me to play!
i been checking your new content every day though you left
awww = )
Arriba España!
Viva Espana
I love your content. But first 6.43 talking about everything is way to long before even planning your first move.
That's why I add the timestamp called turn 1, just click on that and hey presto!
