I honestly dig the change of the Ten Rings, gives it more of a grounding in Chinese martial arts and they look totally kick ass, also thought it was clunky to fight with all those rings on your hands.
I bet it also shifts the focus to more kung fu instead of alien magic.
Honestly I wish Marvel would stop changing stuff. Some was okay but most were so way off that it didn't even resemble the character except in name only.

The comics canonically seem to exist in a different reality from the MCU. Right?
That means the differences should be expected, since its a different version of each character.
@@tasbard8545 no i get that....just when you know them one way and then they change everything about the character, its hard to try and see them as the same, if you get what i mean.
Like ill use Vision as example...in the comics he was created by ultron but not to be the perfect body for him, he created him using the original human torch( with was an android not not a person ) and modified it so that he would be able to be a spy within the avengers and to destroy them from with in. So you see what I mean about so much was changed that its really only in name.

As an Asian (from Singapore), can I take this opportunity to mention that Tony Leung is one of Asia’s top movie stars from Hong Kong...
He also acted in the grandmaster which is an martial arts epic if anyone is keen on art house martial art film
and in the mood for love, he's great in that movie too
Red Cliff and Infernal Affairs were my faves
they actually got Tony Leung and Michelle Yeoh, 2 legendary casts to be in this movie

Each character in the ring is a Chinese character of good virtue, like grace, power, strength etc. Some of their meanings are a bit interchangeable. The font is a more archaic type like what you would use on seals.

I think I may be thinking way into this but when The Mandarin says “You cant run from who you really are” Along with the song replying with “I learn from running” I just feel like the placement of the two is supposed to tell us that Shang Chi learned humility through the real world when he ran away from his father just like he did in the comics.

Actually it will make perfect sense why they casted Ronnie Chieng if he were to bring them to Madripoor, he has an authentic south-east asian accent thanks to his roots in Malaysia and Singapore (of which is inspiration of Madripoor in the comics)

This honestly reminds me of Kung Fu Panda in the way the fight scenes are filmed which is SICK!!! I’m so excited the MCU is starting to change styles from WandaVision and now this :)
Fun fact: Kung Fu Panda sparked a national debate in China on how americans made a better movie about chinese culture than the chinese.
The original is still one of my favorite animation movies. All-star cast and just so funny with Jack Black at the helm ❤️ it

I hope people watch Kung Fu Hustle because of this. It's such a great film.
I remember my mom bringing me and my siblings to the cinemas to watch Kung Fu Hustle when I was a kid. It was so great! Stephen Chow's movies were amazing, I still re-watch some of them now like Shaolin Soccer, God of Cookery, From Beijing with Love, and Out of the Dark, to name a few.
Just give me superheroes movies and I'll watch! Having Jackson in the soundtrack is a PLUS AHHHHHHH

The toy leaks of that white/red dragon isn’t Fin Fang Foom, the dragon looks nothing like him nor does it have the same name, it also has some kind of water power.

That’s what I’m thinking but I think some legality from Netflix, Marvel couldnt mention Iron Fist during the filming of this film as the right did not revert back, unless it was a last minute shot once the property reverted back.

When you can tell Erik knows about the Lego shang-chi leaks but doesn't want to talk about them because he doesn't want to be a toy channel even though they have a lot of details related to the movie. Lolol😂😂
wel...its been awhile since i bought those MCU sets, but quite a lot of the time they don't resemble the films, because these sets are usually based off of early concept art which is why you will find things like mandarin on a weird car or very inaccurate designs

I'm just thinking that Wenwu gave him ten years, as a deal. Like Shang-Chi can go off and have a life but eventually return and take his place. That's why he lives a minimal life in a garage. Because he knows this life has an expiry tag on it.

I think one of the coolest small details about this could be the rings having been Rings for Fin Fang Foom, but fit as Shaolin rings for Wenwu
According to the recent leak of Shang-Chi Funkin Pops, the masked female character that WenWu/Mandarin is fighting in the bamboo setting is Jiang Li played by Fala Chen not Michelle Yeoh. Michelle Yeoh’s character is named as Jiang Nan. Considering they have the same surname, they might possibly be related.
Would be sisters in the movie.
