The feeding problems (not jams) was pretty much common to all drum magazines from that period (the Thompson mag was much worse) It happens when the clockwork spring weakens with wear and could usually be remedied by loading slightly fewer rounds into the mag. The early 35 round box magazines were very weak and prone to damgage to the feed lips, but once they started to make them out of thicker steel they were very reliable. The PPSh itself was from the beginning a sturdy and reliable weapon.

The PPSH may fire fast but it fires an extremely light and small caliber, 7.62x25mm, which creates very little recoil. The PPSH-41 and the TT-33 which both used such caliber has extremely low recoil, as a comparison to rifles like the ASVAL, which is portrayed as having low recoil in many games, despite it firing a large 9x39mm subsonic round quite fast. Dont believe CoD or movies, the PPSH is a very comfortable gun, and actually very uncommonly used the drum. It was much more likely to have a 35 stick mag.

That is some pure bullshit. Russians were always going after the most cost effective but not the best weapons since they never had enough money. They wanted to win a war no matter how many of their own people die. Meat is cheap in Soviet Russia.
The PPSh has less stopping power because the 7.62mm Tokarev round has a high muzzle velocity and the FMJ projectile gives it rather extreme penetration for a pistol round. It can penetrate a modern PASGT kevlar helmet at 50m so it pretty much flies right through a human body without leaving much of its energy in the form of tissue damage, unlike the very low velocity projectile of the .45 ACP of the Thompson. The upside is that the PPSh has a long effective range for a SMG and great penetration.

When it came to the issue of jamming, the drum magazine did jam because some of them weren't always compatible with the weapon they ended up in.
