The writing was really good with this. Its easy to forget how important solid writing is for these shows. You can see in the early seasons they were getting their sea legs and making Carol do more physical comedy....but as the series matured the scenes had more character and relationship development...hard to do when you have about 3 minutes of scene work to fill. Every drama kid should watch this show to study character work and scene writing.
Beyond the humor, this is a great illustration of what playing hard to get actually gets you: nothing.
