How to Install Herringbone Laminate Flooring -
No squeaks

Today, I completed the kitchen herringbone parquetry.
Solo. Just like yourself.
Went with the herringbone style, instead of the chevron, straight, or basket weave application, settled on the herringbone because I am adhering to a coastal country theme.
And the herring, is correlated to that.
So I ran with it.
Your video assisted too, by the ease with which you made it so doable.
And I did the same.
Took my time .
And careful, but confident.
Looks super . I feel very satisfied and gosh it's a great feeling .
Isn't it ?
Your no fuss get it done confidence, assisted.
Thankyou.
🍺
Great work, except for not removing the skirting. Really takes away from the finished job
It will looks great if you take the skirting off before you start the flooring 😊👍👌
How much more do you purchase for waste cut piece? also, can you do a video showing how do you plan the layout and starting point
Looks like you did a great job. What are the tolerances for how flat the floor is after plying for parquet? My joiner has just put 6mm ply over my chipboard subfloor and there's approx 10mm drop over 1m in places. Too much and do we need to self level first?
Such a great flooring guy
Wonderful job
Marcos Gutierrez Thank you 👍🏻🙂
*WOW!!!* That's *AMAZING!!!*
Thank you so much 🙂
Very nice job. Did you fix the plywood over the old floor boards or remove them?
Absolutely stunning
Hey bud, your works are awesome
For glue down engineered wood what size trowel should be used please?
Wooow galing dito nako at pinapanood ka hanggang dulo yakap na kita lods
Ang lupet Naman bossing...galing nyo po..
Unahan nakita boss..
Great work, what thickness of plywood did you use to cover that old sub floor?
Nice lay, looks great.! but that house was so small it was almost unnecessary.
Beautiful
good job
Great work ♥️
Thank you 👍🏻
Great looking floor! Very useful video!
Tom Lewis Thank you 🙂👍🏻
Is this the same application if you’re going it on a vertical surface such as a wall? Looking for a wood herringbone accent wall and I don’t love the look of birch plywood people sometimes use
Amazing. I've seen a bunch of manufacturers recommend starting with a triangle. You managed to install this floor very quickly without the triangle. Do you ever use one for larger rooms?
Check this Wood Flooring Dubai ruclips.net/user/shortsU5UuouZq92I and get more information about such topics
What glue are you using?
You have another new friend and I’ve subscribed
Bit like tiling , all the cuts are going to take an eternity . No glue on joints mush ? Looks effective though . Pre finished ? Which make and colour are these boards please ? Regards paul good job
What type of glue can I order in fast, its for natural engineered oak flooring that has been brushed and uv oiled? Thx
great work!
Thank you 🙂👍🏻
wow...very nice 👍👍
Hi
Thanks for the video. I’ve seen some suggestions about putting down a foam underlay between the wood and sub floor - is that not possible with glue down floors?
I’m assuming it’s only for floating but wanted to ask
I need to know the color of this floor. Building a house and I am in love with this.
This is amazing ever!! I'm your big fan❤️❤️
Thank you so much for your support 😉
This is great
Thanks 👍🏻
Excelente video!!! sigue asi
Thanks 🙂
Wow amazing
Thank you 🤗
wow nice content 💖
Elle Lifestyle thanks 🙂
Great work! Would this work well with underfloor heating?
Nice job Nick, noticed you used the glue, however I've seen others use the sponge rubber 3mm as underlay on top of ply.
Which is better?
Gluing it down is better. Less noise, less movement, lasts longer.
Does this click in similar to laminate?
hi mate, great work, where are you located
Thanks Elton,
North West London
Here new friend 👋
Hi New friend 🙂👍🏻
Hi nick , where can I get the soft rubber mallet that you use there ? Cheers
hugged you back bro...thanks.
Nice
Thanks 🙂
I'm doing my floor in 3weeks really need help and advice any chance we could talk?
Which brand and thickness you used?
hi there, nice vid!, what thickness of plywood did you install before gluing flooring
jst4fun
Hi,
The thickens of the plywood that I used is 9mm.
Thanks,
Nick.
Was thinking installing one on ground floor of house.
Thanks for response nick.
Id have to find thinner product
amazing! quick question, no need expansion gap in herringbone style?
You would if a natural hardwood floor is laid but since this is engineered flooring there is no need
@@Gumball89 Thanks Stephen, isn't engineering floor has real wood top layer too? Just wants to be sure as I'm planning a bit DIY myself in the spring. Thanks!
@@spebbmaster9242 it does have a top layer of 3-5mm but it would be unlikely to expand like hardwood. If your home is a fairly consistent temperature year round, I would leave the wood in the room it’s being laid out in for about a week beforehand to “acclimatise” and expand or contract before laying it. This will help to navigate any risk of expansion, as it’s likely the wood will have been stored in a colder environment than a home
@@Gumball89 make sense, thanks Stephen for the info, much appreciated! Have a nice one pal!
You always need expansion gap even with laminate flooring. 5mm minimum.
Hello there, new friend here.
Looks great Nick. Can you share the brand & type of this engineered floor pls?
Hi Rupert,
Check the Description of the video you’ll find it there.
Thanks for your support 🙂👍🏻
Hi new friend
Can this also be installed floating?
no, you cant.
Very nice! What part of the UK do you work in Nick?
Hi Anit,
I do work in London
Thanks 👍🏻
What glue was used?
Dangerous Dan
The glue I used is called
Rewmar MS Polymer Wood Floor Adhesive
What exact wood floor is that, I’m looking for the exact colour and look?
He literally gave you this info in the description box.
Why did you base your first row off a wall?
Because there was the middle of the hallway
The wall you started from , you have cut the corner off each board. Why is that ??
I didn’t start from that wall, I started from the middle of the hallway coming towards this room that is shown in the video.
In this room the wall was a bit off comparing with the hallway that’s why we have to cut the corners of each board.
@@NicksWoodFlooring my mistake lol ,I am laying a herringbone floor this week and it has bay window and alcoves and was thinking of starting from the longest straight wall. What would you suggest
Hi Nick, do you fit luxury vinyl floor tiles? Where are you based? Do you fit in north west London area?
Hi Vestibular Vlog,
Yes we do fit LVT floors, I’m based in North West.
Nick's Wood Flooring can you send me your email address and I’ll send you some further details about a particular job I have.
Sure, nick.woodflooring@hotmail.com
Man, I wish I knew what wood that is.
Ahí solo graban lo más fácil porque no muestran como cuadran el cuarto y alinian eso debería de mostrar cómo comenzar a instalar
Why is this is my recommended help me
What is the point of the video if you don’t show how to cut the angles at the sides????
Use a tape measure and a 90° angle !
Really Bad for me. Big gap in the floor after three months and he blocked all my messages.
