Great stuff, very clean topology and modeling concepts that can be applied to any 3d program. It's a shame there's people out there like Josh Gambrell who are teaching atrocious modeling workflows and getting a ton of views, your channel should be getting a lot more attention.
You can't compare this to Josh Gambrell, not really, clean topology has nothing to do with a creative workflow to get ideas. Try concepting with just poly modeling, there are probably people who can pull it off but the approach is creatively so limiting whereas the Boolean Workflow provides a bit more freedom from technicalities. That said, Josh and his Partner in Crime are pushing this "Good Topology is overrated" narrative a bit too much, so they deserve a bit of the blowback they get imho lol.
Hey just want to say this was super helpful, I'm a Blender user but all the techniques carry over perfectly. I'm trying to improve my modelling and topology since I've struggled to know how to even approach shapes like this. I finally did it with this tutorial and I feel so much more confident. Going to go through the rest of your modelling practice tutorials now. Hope you keep making these, they are really valuable.
@@polygonpen thanks so much for your reply (and for your excellent vids). When I do this I end up with what looks like extruded planks, each one is separate.
@@polygonpen I just thought I'd mention that I discovered why this was happening, I unchecked an option for creating N-gons (if I'm honest, I don;'t know what that 🤣is but after, it worked). thanks again for the EXCELLENT videos!!
Cool mate, very cool. Maybe you will like to design a Car Dashboard with the steering wheel, Do you know what I mean? So in the dashboard cand be placed any UI screen after. I struggle to make that shape of the dashboard, look realistic.

Nice tutorial! You are amazing teacher. Thanks!
Best c4d Modeller ,
Thank you!
great class learning a lot with the channel!
Instead of selecting points and using a weld, you can simply move one point to another with a polypen.
Yeah you are right but I got used to use selecting and welding by hand.
Damn...that was a difficult one...Congrats!!
Thanks for the vid, I'm really new to C4D. At around 1:45-46 you make the point snap to the next one, how do you do that please?
I do this with the polygon pen tool, the tool does this itself, you don't need to to anything extra, the tool snaps automatically.
