Thank you for your comments. For modifying a D96. Is the use of turbo, exhaust manifold, intake manifold injection, pump, nozzles and an oil pipe to the turbo. Oil channels are on the right side of the engine. The easiest thing is to find an old TD96. and use the parts from it.
Yes it’s possible to drive in 4x2 these truck has a mechanical gear lever for it. As well as you can drive 4x4 in high speed mode. Both axles has diff locks and can be used in low or high speed.
Hi, I have the chance to buy an old Volvo Viking from 1964 (46A, Diesel, no turbo). But I need to get some idea of the fuel consumption, as I'd like to use it for long distance expeditions if it's in any way affordable. Do you know what it's likely to be, or where I can find that information? thanks.
Hi Gurgle Jug. As a ekspeditiontruck its okay. But this truck is from 1964 just to remember. There is not much comfort. On an ekspedion you also nede spareparts as headgaskets etc. This engine Can be difficult the get spare parts to. Fuel range” it use about 20-23ltr. Pr 100km. Or 4-4.5litr. Pr. Km. As a 4x4 truck it’s a truck with strong equipment. Best regards Frank If there’s anything else I can help you with, let me know.
@@4x4viking thanks Frank, much appreciated. Can one easily disconnect the 4x4 to make it 2x4 and save fuel on long road runs? Do these trucks have diff-locks? Cheers!
good evening from Greece! we have the same truck and we have been trying for days to find the chassis number of the car and we are not able to do it. Do you know exactly where it is?
@@4x4viking Good evening and thanks for the reply, but I did not understand exactly. Is it on the wheel? Front and left? at what point exactly, can you tell me? we search for over a week and do not find it.
@@4x4viking That would be fantastic! Thank you very much. We have found the cab code that is above the seat, as well as the number of the steering wheel that is in front and left of the chassis. I will look forward to the video, thanks again!
Very cool turbo sound! Seems it has a lot of inertia in it
