I used to live in this area in the late 80s-early 90s. Thanks Lee, this song takes me back to the town where my heart is.
I know the places well that he mentions in the song. And have riden a horse in that valley too, used to know a guy at the trail rides in Mountain Crk Valley (dont know if that particular biz is still operating now. But they where good people. I also lived at Harrietville (in the other valley), which is quite a different area than where this song is about, which was more locals (in my time) and less touristy than the ovens. But at last visit that seems to have changed 30yrs on, but my heart is still there.
