The devils staircase used to have a load of drops and stairs but they took them out. It did get pretty sketchy and couldn’t keep much speed. Shame the monkey was shut for you it has some of the best sections at cannok

The trail he is riding at 4.16 is called High Voltage. One of the best trails there in my opinion. Same with the last few trails at the end starting with Chainslapper. I just went a few days ago and it is so much fun when it's dry. Have fun :)
I loved this track, but stopped going after my van was broken into twice. Thieves watch you begin your ride, then they know you'll be away from your vehicle for at least an hour.

Did you visit in early Sept, I went on 3rd Sept, it was so muddy and wet. Invested in a pair of waterproof socks since. CC seems to get a lot of hate, but its only 30mins away from me and I think its a great ride.
When I rode the Devil's Staircase last year it was aptly named - a good number of ~2 foot drops pretty close together, a challenge to ride cleanly. Looks like they've been completely removed?

I was riding the monkey trail and there were a few closed sections there too. I swear they were the same sections that were closed last time I rode Cannock Chase.

I know what you mean. It was good to be out riding but I remember the trails being better if I am honest. I almost didn’t make the video.
Unlucky as Chainslapper was only closed for a month or so - they fixed the awful breaking bumps from the e bikes!

Yeah it looks like it has been smoothed out. More like the Devils slope now.
They are making the trails more child proof.
