Thank you. I find this program to be incredibly insightful. I’m so disappointed in how 382:was ramrodded through the House and Senate and the power grab it created. This is not good nor representative governance. As a western North Carolinian who was impacted by Helene I appreciate the next level of relief but I’m disappointed in the non germane provisions in the Bill which steals from the executive power of the Governor and those duly elected to manage our government. This was put together quickly and seemingly well under the radar intentionally. I shared my concerns with my Republican representatives not to have even received an acknowledgment of my communication. The people need to take the time to be aware of how things are governed and to hold our representatives accountable. Democrats were no angels in the past but state Republicans have taken things to a whole new level.

Frank, thanks for leaving the note and it's a fact this bill was pushed quickly and it was large. When it comes to politics, I'm not sure where angels are to be found! KMc

If the GOP had good policy ideas, they wouldn't have to resort to subterfuge.

What were these separate issues even doing on the same bill?

We were planning on moving to N.C. when we retire. The brazen anti Democratic hijinx of the Rightwing legislators with the gerrymandering and limiting the effectiveness of ELECTED Democratic officials eliminated N.C. from the list of states I'll consider moving to.

This whole conversation about voter ID is ridiculous. It is a federal law. You cannot vote without an ID. The NC Constitution doesn't need updating. And the stripping of power from elected officials is unconstitutional. I challenge anyone to see if I missed something in Article II of the NC Constitution. Clearly stated in Article II, section 24, paragraph 1, letter H: It says the General Assembly shall NOT have the power to create towns, drawn boundaries.....etc.

Hard to set up a Fascist Government if voters keep voting for people they want to run government. When most of N Carolinas seats are gerrymandered . I actually thought about moving to NC but boy I'm sure glad I didn't.

Im disabled and need to have access to absentee ballots. I also wonder why they force us to have two witnesses to sign off on the absentee ballot. Forcing us to have to show our id over and over again is not going yo change the outcome. Instead it makes it harder to use the programs that we already have.
