E36 E46 V8 M60 M62 Swap ; Oil Pump Modification : What Is It REALLY like?

- BMW E36 E46 M60 M62 V8 swaps need modifications to the oil pump setup . This video shows the mod of the pump in order to fit an Adamat M60 swap kit for E36 or E46 that moves the oil pan forward, similar to Cybul V8 swap kits.
Various companies offer similar kits that require the oil pump to be flipped around in order to clear the steering rack. The pump now mounts to the oil pan that comes with the kit. The pressure valve and pressure feed tube are modified and the impeller shaft moved.
We don't retail these kits, but we offer Wisefab, Feal Suspension , Seems Legit Garage and Fuelab products worldwide, don’t hesitate to contact us on info@einzel.nl

Also: Who can guess the track at the end of the video?
Watching this from Poland. I have an idea in my head for an E46 with M62. It all seems a bit sketchy, but I guess the alternative is to mess with the steering rack position which would probably be even worse.
Did this mod to my E46. Works well, no problems at all!
Great job! Where are you watching from?
@@DriftJesus Australia. I've got a 2003 325Ci with a M62 and T5 manual. Great video too mate 👍
Thanks for the video, the information provided with my kit was poor, and this made it a lot clearer.
Man, wish I found this video about 2 months ago. Just got done with all this🤦🏻♂️😂 but I had to struggle through the instructions provided…

Welcome!
Greetings from Southwest Texas 🇺🇸
Will be in TX in November!
@@DriftJesusSo cool with Aaron and where at ????
@@OG-nl8so no solid schedule yet but will let you know!
@@DriftJesus get ready for "Texas BBQ" throw down.
Seems like a sketchy operation but I understand that you gotta do what you gotta do to make a project work on a budget.
Its working for a lot of people, just positioning the pump and tensioning is fiddly and time consuming and I fear people may do that wrong
@@DriftJesus just don't do the timing chain guides after this oil pump mod. It is painful!!
@@banarcus always do them preventively anywayw
Hello! So the oil pump is hold with only 2 bolts (on the oil pan)? I was thinking that it will go through the stud on the front, where it was installed originally.
The original mounting points are not there anymore :)
@@DriftJesus Yes I saw in the manual that we have to cut them. I have oil pump from V12 and can't find a pump from V8. Tried to compare them from pictures, but they look the same (still the part numbers are different). I was thinking the V8 one, will be little bit different design and will be hold by 3 points, but I guess this is not going to be the case.
No, there is 3 mounting points you are going to use. 1 on the engine block.
Too bad the M60/M62 swaps get this complicated. What would a dry sump system for this swap cost roughly? And does anyone make exhaust manifolds for this swap?
Dry sump is 4-6k
Exhaust manifolds can be pieced together from X5 but if you want gains custom make them
I'm just in the process of fitting S65 headers, light, compact and equal length runners. Flanges need rework but seems doable so far.
Interested in California!
Thanks for watching!
Do u mind sending me the instructions cause my kit has the most basic and vague instructions ever from CYBUL
This is not a cybul kit, best contact them.
Hi could you send me the photos of the instructions?
Sadly don't have them , only the video material as shown.
@@DriftJesusok thank
Hi mate, What is the fi20 exactly. I gather it's a 20mm drill bit? But the "fi" is what loses me. Any insight?
20mm
Check with a measuring caliper
@@DriftJesus Is this any particular drill head I need?
@@moosegril2796 see video, all regular drills. Best would be to machine it on a lathe
