Thanks man. I agree, as I mentioned in the video, I think without those panel gaps it really wouldn’t have the same feel to it. Pleased with how it’s progressed so far! Thanks for watching!
That practicality transition in designing is called DFM (Design For Manufacturing) and is taking into account all details for materials, tolerances, assembly, etc. Normally is the point where industrial designer's dreams have to pivot and be brought down to earth. However if you are a good professional, you try include it at the first stages of design, so props to RTA for being aware. Normally is complicated as you don't have all the details discussed with your manufacturer so is more of a push and pull effort, but he's his own factory!
Thank you man. Thanks for the feedback too. I’m always conscious of whether I’m getting the points across well enough. I want to make sure I explain things as much as I can but balance it with being concise. Thanks for watching!
Very inspiring as always. As for being stuck at a certain stage of development, usually in the beginning, my advice is to fail fast / fail forward by doing some rough prototypes in what ever material and process you are familiar with. (this advice is not specifically to the channel owner, but rather to anyone aiming to get better) Cardboard and duct tape, Styrofoam, what ever gets you going forward. I used to work as a automotive clay modeller and use clay that I 3D scan and on to printing.
Excellent video, as always. And the skating was an impressive side note. Good luck with the business. I hope it settles into exactly what you’re hoping it will be.
Your storytelling across all the phases of your projects is one of the key aspects of your videos that are incredibly inspirational, combined with your great skills in ideating, sketching, designing and the producing. Simply fabulous! Keep going!❤
I'm nearing 40 now, but this is the channel that my teenager-self needed-seeing the process of design and iteration, together with production is really inspiring. I design apps now, but this has me wanting to really buckle down and learn 3D.
This has grown to be one of my favourite channels. What a privilege to be able to listen to such a talented designers thought process. It's very interesting to see you mold the design from a blank canvas into something amazing. Just like they used to quickly mold designs in clay you use 3D printers. Looking at the design I feel that copper or brass would be appropriate together with the wood.
Absolutely love seeing the process. It might be interesting to see the iterations too, so we can see what choices were made as it was developed. Love the DS coins at the end too.
Really happy to have come across this channel, love the content and attention to detail and dear good that’s a sexy tray, I’ll definitely be wanting to pick one up if you release it
Congratulations on your outstanding work! Since discovering your channel on RUclips, I have eagerly anticipated each new release. Your content is truly exceptional. Recently, I subscribed to your newsletter to gain more insight into your creative process, but I haven’t received any materials yet. Could you please send the previous newsletters to me directly? Additionally, I am curious to learn more about your background. Could you share your personal journey and what led you to create such engaging content? Thank you in advance for your response, and best regards!
Watching this made me think that it might be cool if you somehow could add in a tilted phone Magsafe charger onto the tray itslef. somehow turning it into a universal tray/charging station. I also love modular things, so having it as a modular add-on would be really cool. support and love from Germany ✌🏼
Thanks! The paint is just a 1k acrylic aerosol. The brand is Promatic. The finish is more so down to application. I’ve covered this in one of my other videos, but I’ll go on with regular ‘wet’ coats, then to finish I’ll fog or mist several coats on so it builds up a slight grain. It’s a fine line between overspray sitting on the surface that would just wipe off and it starting to go on wet. If you get that sweet spot the ‘overspray’ will be just wet enough to adhere. Thanks for watching!
Hey mate nice Video. The Quality how you make the Videos and now the second amazing Gadget for the Desk is also Really Amazing ! it will be great when you can make a Stand for overear Headphones (Airpods Max) and also for The AppleWatch. Best regarts from Germany
I’m glad to hear it! The app is called Milanote. I use that for project planning and video planning. You can use it on a desktop through the browser too and it syncs up between the two. Very useful app! Thanks for watching the video.
I really enjoy using 3Dconnexion wireless space mouse for modeling. it takes some time to get the settings dialed and to get used to it, but now I can’t imagine modeling without it. And the batteries last forever before you have to recharge.
Love the calmness and simplicity of your videos. They have a beautiful look to. If you dont mind me asking, what app do you use on your ipad for planning? It looks like exactly what im looking for.
Super impressive attention to detail. I admire your dedication to developing highly aesthetic and functional products. I'm curious, whats your intention with these products? will you ever bring them to market, or are these more personal endeavours. Products like this would only be economical to manufacture at scale due to the complexity, so obviously its challenging to bring physical products to market without a bigger distribution plan
Thanks! The app is called Milanote, I use it on the iPad and the desktop. It syncs together really well and it’s great for gathering ideas and planning these videos out!
Love when I see you deliver a new video! I was wondering since I'm going to start some molds, what brand you vacuum kit is? I don't want to go cheap necessarily but I don't want to give a kidney either. I looked online and I've been told a 1/2hp 5-7CFM 2 stage with a 18L would be good.... Any thoughts? Thanks!
Do you post process your resin molds at all, (excluding curing) or is the resin quality good enough ? And what layer height do you recommend if that is the case ?
Inspiring as always ! Since the very first video. I have a question: I have started some months ago resin prints curing in jar filled with water, I am getting much faster fully cured prints than without the water, have you ever tested that method? After curing without water I had prints still a little bit sticky for few hours etc. I had to left them cure in shadowed with sun lightning.
@ I have a lot of favorite pens, so I’ve always wanted a way to show them off. I love the pen holders that separate each individual pen because it’s very easy to pick the one I want. Also such a huge fan on the channel!
It's funny that you can create everything what you want but stupid Apple give you only the white wearless charger. :D :D funny stupid Apple. With black cable it could looks much more better.
One of the most inspiring channels on RUclips right now.
Thank you Ian! Really appreciate the support 👊🏻
Really is though…
i appreciate that your videos are free from background music
Totally agreed
The attention to detail in the panel gaps is excellent. Amazing work as always-I'm really looking forward to the product release.
Thanks man. I agree, as I mentioned in the video, I think without those panel gaps it really wouldn’t have the same feel to it. Pleased with how it’s progressed so far! Thanks for watching!

As an industrial designer myself, I find your videos really inspiring and it hits the right spot with my early morning coffee.
I've always been curious about design. I love how you show the process... and explain it so clearly and concisely.
Thank you man. Thanks for the feedback too. I’m always conscious of whether I’m getting the points across well enough. I want to make sure I explain things as much as I can but balance it with being concise. Thanks for watching!
Your eye for aesthetics and design is impressive. It's really cool to see your forethought about manufacturing throughout the design process too 🤘
Love hearing your thought process through this all! Looking forward to more
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 👊🏻
Exciting to have another video so soon!
Trying my best to close the gap! Hope you enjoy it!
Very inspiring as always.

Just great! The visual feel and the actual content. Pure 100% performance.
Saw the video notification, i was like 'Oh s****', another great video to start my day with, awesome work
Haha thank you man! I appreciate you!
Excellent video, as always.

Good luck with the business. I hope it settles into exactly what you’re hoping it will be.
I like the storytelling and the way you move further with a design. Definetely one of the most interesting things I have in my feed.
This is awesome. Great video. Good visuals. Love the explanation of the CAD process and your design thinking strategy. Well done.

One of the only channels that gets a thumbs up before I even watch it, because I know it's going to be top quality! 👏👏
I appreciate you man 👊🏻
Holy crap, this made me think that there's SOOOO much more about design than I thought. It's an art.

Ваши дизайны лучшие, что когда либо видел!!!
Hey what app are you using with your ipad for moodboard and planning? Btw huge fan of your channel! Keep going!

I really dig your no bullshit style video. Keep up the good work.

Another awesome project brother...
Thanks man I appreciate the support!
Hi, you bring out the creative in me. You inspire me...
Amazing work and video. Truly inspiring
Awesome videos man, congrats! Whats the app you’re using at the start on the iPad?
Milanote
Loving this work
Love this channel dude. Going to follow from the 3D channel as well

I cant wait to purchase one 😍
edit: I almost wish there was a place for the phone to replace both the 3 in one charger and the bed tray tbh)
Looks so very good 🔥🔥🔥

beautiful design. very masculine .
Congratulations on a great job.
What kind of paint did you use to paint the prototype at 13:25?

Very good, thank you for the explanation, it would be great to have a video on how you paint the elements.
Rock on! Молодцом!
Loving it so far! Btw, what is the iPad app you're using at the beginning of the video?
I’m glad to hear it! The app is called Milanote. I use that for project planning and video planning. You can use it on a desktop through the browser too and it syncs up between the two. Very useful app! Thanks for watching the video.
Modular allows for customization. Would say keep it if you plan to sell it. Think people will like the ability to customize to their liking.

Hi
I love the work that you are doing , can you let me know what iPad app are you using for the board
Thanks! The app is called Milanote, I use it on the iPad and the desktop. It syncs together really well and it’s great for gathering ideas and planning these videos out!

nice work
Love the video man! Just curious how long it took you to get to that painted proto... is that a couple of days work for you? a week? 👌
Do you post process your resin molds at all, (excluding curing) or is the resin quality good enough ? And what layer height do you recommend if that is the case ?
Why a resin prototype instead of fdm?
Finer detail, less artifacts from supports, no visible layer lines. And the benefits of FDM would be wasted on this kind of use
a bigger version for home keys, usb, cables etc.. would be appreciated
Yeah I’ll be playing with a larger version and a small flat puck version just for charging headphones. Thanks for watching!
Do you take work on?
Quick question, How do you get such a smooth finish on the paint job? When I paint something it looks much more like cheap plastic.
Cheers, good stuff.
Are you self taught. or formally educated? Either way I am curious to know how you developed your skillset.
Thanks
Milanote ❤
brother you r talented. how did you get started doing this? besides learning cad wnat advice do you have for anyone wanting to get started?
I have space for one of these in walnut please
Would really love a pen holder insert.
Yeah that’s something I’ll definitely be adding as a modular insert 👊🏻

I'm having creative blocks for days on end at work, bit of a mare when you're designing a car that needs to be reality by July 2025
This might sound crazy, but can you design me a dip can? lol
It's funny that you can create everything what you want but stupid Apple give you only the white wearless charger. :D :D funny stupid Apple. With black cable it could looks much more better.
