I love your message on rescuing dogs in need of home. Important and also really heartwarming. I also loved the clip showing Filia intrigued with this iced pond!
Its neat to find old wallpapers i loved there patterns , the brown one looks similar to the blue one i put up in my bedroom . Sad Brett has to leave again but i guess its what he needs to be do with the business in Aussie . Adoption for dogs is the way to go . Thank u for the update . 🥰🙂
I adopted my dog too, she is the best dog ever! The lady that had her and her sister passed away. I keep in touch with the lady that adopted her sister too.
Hi Denise, Filia is beautiful, and she is multi-lingual! I rescued a kitten from St. Lucia when I was on my honeymoon. It took 3 weeks to get Cara Bean to Canada but she is 14 now and my bff. Safe trip Brett. Cheers!
Hi Denise,,a fine spray of water every now and then would help keep the dust down for Richard if he has no mask on. Beautiful section of the video with Filia,,,your heart is in the right place, lovely dog. Take care and be safe..
It is sad to see all the old wood trashed, I wonder if there isn’t a place that would take that in better condition to be recycled into other projects? On ranches in Montana, USA we save all the old usable wood for use in future projects.
My daughter's family rescued 2 dogs and my son's family rescued 1...all from Mexico. They have brought so much laughter and joy into all our lives. I love the elegant wallpaper you found...so much history in your beautiful Chateau.
Thank you for the update. It is interesting cleaning unused spaces and finding glimpses into the past. I hope Filia's visit to the vet was not too upsetting for her. Dogs bring so much love and joy into our lives. I hope you all have a wonderful week.
The old wallpapers are beautiful! Hopefully, you can have some reproduced. Richard should use a mask with all the dust he is in. What will that room be? Oh my, your new puppy is gorgeous! She is a lucky pup! Love from Pennsylvania 💕🌷🐻
Denise, one of my Cheatue channels they use a leaf blower to blow dirt out of windows, doors on the floor blowing to one end. Less back, breaking that a broom and dust pan.
I like your channel but I never quite know what you’re doing. Need more description. What is the outbuilding, what are you doing with it? What’s the plan ?
I just wanted to say I love ur channel and hope to see it keep growing this year and the year after 😊 I love when u tell the history of the Chateau can u get together all u know about the Chateau history the people who built it and when and how it changed hands?? Pictures to if u can about any rooms and what happened to the family u could make it maybe a week series!!! I don't know if u watch Chateau Puron but they have done that and took the old wallpaper and had it put back in production so others can buy it I think thru ferrin & ball is that something u could do to help with renovations?? I hope to finally see over time it all comes back to life.....😊
Ohh the Wallpapers are Amazing 🤩 Are you going to recreate some of them ? I hope you do 🙏🏽 And I hope you are Recycling all the Wood for the fireplaces That would be a waste to throw them into the skip …. 🙏🏽❤️
So Brett has to go back to Australia again, darn! Safe travel Brett! I believe there are companies that can reproduce any of the old wallpapers that you may like from a remnant piece! It is so wonderful that you rescued you pup! Brava! 👏👏👏
Fantastic discovery of the wallpapers. What are you actually doing with that space? It would be good to know your goals. Greetings from very sunny Brisbane ❤❤
Must be heart wrenching to see Brett go back to Aus. Love your message on rescue dogs. Our beloved Bessie was rescued when she was 18 months and we had her for another 15 years❤❤🫶good luck with your treatments in Berlin🤞👏👏🙏🏻
Filia is beautiful and so well behaved now. She will only improve as she ages with your love and care. Will you have access to the Orangery from your apartment or do you have to outside to get into it?
@@brettthomas6020 It's going to be perfect. Extended living space for you both and also keeping it easy to heat your apartment. Safe travels Brett. Many long flights back and forth to Australia. I hope you don't have to make many more or at least not as often. I hear there is a heatwave there. I'm actually jealous, it's -27 here in Toronto.
OH WOW the stained glass windows 😍 Hope you keep them and have a go at restoring them - it could be your new hobby. Lovely to have the wallpapers and see how it was once decorated. Love it.
It takes a lot out of you flying between Europe and Australia as regularly at Brett has to. Those 20+ hour flights are tough going. I guess it must be for work...
I hope you kept some of that beautiful wallpaper in case you wanted to reproduce it or put in in a scrap book as part of the history of your beautiful chateau. Lots of love from Canada 🇨🇦
You should collect segments of the wallpaper and put them in a book? Some people have had them recreated by wall paper companies and use them in rooms they want to do in the old styles of that day.
Keep the samples of the wallpaper. Chateau Purnon did that. They had some of the original wall paper reproduced. Maybe you want to do that as well. I believe the company they are working with was impressed by the samples as they provide a unique glimpse into the history of wall paper. The architect at Purnon advised them to keep everything. That’s how they later on found out that they own an 18th century Billiard table, the only one of its kind in France. You have such treasure at your chateau. It may be a treasure trove for a historian.
As Registered Respiratory Therapist, can't encourage you enough to wear a good quality respirator. I recently was involved on a patient case where this young man contracted Lady Windermere Syndrome while renovating his late father's 90 year old cottage. The dust and debris in the cottage had non-tubercolitis mycobacterium spors. He nearly died. Don't take risks, you have a wonderful life ahead of you and we want you to be able to enjoy it.
Please be careful I lost my husband due to asbestos being disturbed in a factory when he was in his twenties, thirty years later he was diagnosed with cancer from it unfortunately only had one year after before I lost him
Denise can you please tell me why your husband is gone so long and why he is in Australia all the time I must’ve missed that somewhere along the way, and it’s something that really bothers me. I would really like to know , he travels far is gone wrong. I know you’ve moved from Australia, but I don’t understand why he’s always in Australia, where you used to live ,and now you’re all alone in that huge château, why did you move there if he was going to be in Australia all the time why didn’t you just stay there and not put yourself through this mess of fixing up the Château? You are always alone it doesn’t makes sense to me and I have been watching and following you. Please tell me why he is not working where you moved to. I am really looking forward to hear from you so I can understand. Thank you, from a dear subscriber.🥺
Jane, thanks for your concerns, it’s difficult but the sacrifice we have to make in the early days. Denise is never alone and always has her European family with her. Xx
I really enjoyed seeing the old wallpaper ❤❤.much love from our home to your home ❤️

You not only got a beautiful castle, you could have a gold mine of rare wallpapers
I know I've seen some Chateaus put them back in production 😊
She is a beautiful girl, bless you for loving her!
Wow! That's a lot of work to be done in that large room with the holes in the flooring. Best wishes, though I know you all are up for the challenge!
Brett, why do you have to go back to Australia so often? Do you still work there?
I was just thinking that myself x
I still have a business there which is my other passion xxx
@ I admire your dedication and commitment - so much to dd!

She is beautiful puppy so pretty she will adjust with all the love she is getting she is pup and still learning ! Thank you for another great video !
By the time you get to my age, you‘ll have antique wallpaper all over the castle
Denise, ironically, the one wallpaper reminded of oranges and their leaves. It’s a sign😉.
Wow cool wallpaper, Hey why does Brett keep going back to Australia l cant remember if you told us this.
I would like to know also
Why aren’t you and the work man not wearing mask.
Hi Denise, Filia is beautiful, and she is multi-lingual! I rescued a kitten from St. Lucia when I was on my honeymoon. It took 3 weeks to get Cara Bean to Canada but she is 14 now and my bff. Safe trip Brett. Cheers!
It’s amazing how in the past when they changed styles they kept what they took down and stored them away to be reused in the future.

Bless you ! Yes I rescue too.. Best most grateful new members of the family.
All my family’s rescue dogs have been blessings in our lives over the generations. I agree with you Denise! Your dogs melt my heart each vlog!

It’s off the stair case to the left so you walk from the apartment to the stairs then on to the orangey…

Love the beige wall paper.

Love seeing the wallpapers. Your thoughts and words on the history and culture was beautifully spoken.

Hard work in both places !
But we are lucky to have the opportunity
@@brettthomas6020 Take care...We used to do it before moving permanently to Europe. It's tough..

Gotta make a mess before you make beautiful!
I hope you kept some of that beautiful wallpaper in case you wanted to reproduce it or put in in a scrap book as part of the history of your beautiful chateau. Lots of love from Canada 🇨🇦
You should compile a file with all the different wallpaper for future, I love the blue one
Coach house will look amazing, men should have dusk musks on.. 😮

When are the other guys back x

Keep the 'toilet' it can add architectial interest.

I've watched your story from the beginning why dose your husband allways gos back to Australia
Maybe he is an associate in a professional office? I do not know what kind of work he is doing.
He can‘ tbe without all the bush flies, summer heat and red back spiders
Wondering why Brett keeps going back and forth to Australia particularly, as I thought this was his idea.......🤔
Bills to pay 😂
@brettthomas6020 fair enough!
♥️🇨🇦
@@brettthomas6020😂 and that’s a Château!
As an Australian,? can he get a visa to stay longer than 3 months ?
@@maxinepearce4909 No tourists visas are 3 months, if they were married he then by marriage is a citizen, if Denise is still a German citizen.
I'm concerned you all are not wearing masks or eye protection - there is a lot of debris particles floating in the air - please take care

What do you plan to do with those rooms? If you said before, I forgot.
That old wood, can’t you cut it up and use it on a fireplace?
The timber that’s got wood worm will go to the fire and the good timber will be stored and re used
Please be careful I lost my husband due to asbestos being disturbed in a factory when he was in his twenties, thirty years later he was diagnosed with cancer from it unfortunately only had one year after before I lost him
...!!!
With all of that dust the workmen should be wearing face masks . Otherwise their health may suffer in the future.
Was thinking the same you total right.
That and using a gas powered chainsaw in a tinderbox of a centuries old attic.
It's not your regular team workers. They will come back? They have so much pleasure working together.
Should be back in March
Why does he have to keep going back to Australia?
Have to work!!!!
