Hey shroom, it’s me again, I showed my friends your channel and now it’s spreading around me school so I hope they share your channel so it goes viral and your channel blows up
Hi Shroom, really great video. May I ask where you catch southern herring this time of the year and what techniques you use. I seem to be able to catch them in the Georges River on sabiki only between January and May, then they tend to taper off during June to December. Thanks.
I just watched the video again. Dunno how I missed it. You bought a box of the imported calamari. It's a Gunna bait. One of the best value baits I've used. I buy a block, break it up into smaller amounts, bag 4-5 in each bag. Done, only take what you need.
Yep, I need to do a dedicated video on it. It's cheap and catches jewfish so it's viable alternative when squid are hard to come by or at lesat offer a cheaper alternative. That's a good idea
I've been taught to cut the bottom (silver strip) from the yakka fillet when dead baiting for better results. Target fish are only after the tasty top green section of the fillet. Don't know if that's a tip or if everyone knows.
I might give that a try John. Usually I strip then as you said and go with the top half first and then the bottom. Seems to hook up easier than a wide slab
Hey shroom, I think I can help out with the live bait situation, Notice how you aerator bulb is at the bottom of the tank and you have no bubbles, the pumps in those stock shitty aerators can't overcome the water pressure. They sound like they are working but in reality they are doing nothing, if you lift that bulb up so it's 10-15cm from the surface all of a sudden it will start to pump air and your baits won't die. I keep yakkas alive for 2/3 days at a time in a 20L painters bucket for beach jewfish sessions, change the water once per day (usually when I'm restocking on more yakka). If you can keep your water oxygenated they last a long time. I lost a fair few livies to shit pumps over time, once I figured out the weak pumps I stopped losing them at all. The other thing that helps is making sure your battery is fresh, the pump stops working effectively long before the battery is dead. Sometimes it feels like I single handedly keep Eveready D cells in production. Alternatively you can fork out for the rapala float pump that bobs around in the tank and works that way. I guarantee you that's the problem.
Thanks for the detailed response MYeahman, much appreciated. I'll investigate this further on the next session because it will matter at some stage when I need the livies to be actually live. I'll check what happens when I lift the bulb up and see if it starts pumping and/or change the battery
Just home from work and kicking back with another fun filled Shroom vid. What set up would you recommend for pitching poppers at Kings, reasonably high end Shimano preferably. Thank you.
Thanks Alan, looks like another day for a bit of kicking back. Have a look at the Ocea Plugger, it might be what you're looking for. For the reel, I'd still go a Saragosa SW but if you want something more premium, then the Twinpower SW
Keep up the great content bud :). If any of your livebaits die (or close enough to it), you need to remove them from your tank asap otherwise the rest will follow suit very soon. Swapping out half the water every half hour will also help make them last a LOT longer as well
Good advice Daleyboy. I usually just keep changing water at first signs of weak swimming fish. That night, it just seemed like everyone was content using dead baits. I think after the rains it had something to do with it as well
Nice one Mr Shroomy! That muddy was a surprise must have been a fair way up the Parra? BTW I was surprised with a 101cm Jew on 12lb beach gear the other week 👌 thought I was Shroomy for a sec 😂
Thanks Peter! That's a top catch and one I wish to achieve one day! Must have been all the constant rains, I've not caught a muddy before and to see one like that was interesting 😎
your aerator isnt working, did you by chance snip the tubing to make it shorter ? i found it only works if you keep the tube the length it is when you first buy it
Love your content bro! You know way more than me but you might want to try a couple less in the livie bucket, when there's too many there's not enough oxygen for them
Thanks Mohamed, how cloudy was that water? I reckon the rain did something it should have been clear. Yeah a few less fish in the bucket would have made a big difference
@@ShroomFishing awesome stuff, I think I might have suggested it before, and it can be done land based, go to Nepean freshwater and catch herring and mullet there, using earthworms as bait. I'm finding the freshwater mullet and herring works well in the salt,as bait, especially Parra river. Plus it's another video you could do .👍
keeping herring alive is big pain, but water changes is the way to go, theres no way around it without water changes every hour or so. Even with a filter they die. ive tried...
SHROOM m8 u need to change the water every now and then when u get the chance or they will die all the time just a tip try it out will go a long way next time :D
I found with big cut baits like that it is better to cut them in rings/chunks in stead of fillets I don’t know why but I have a better catch rate and don’t get pestered by crabs and lice as much
Shroom said "my right hand is getting tired" when holding the mud crab in his left hand, goes to show he has flipped the video show right as left and left as right all in the hopes that people don't find his fishing spots 🤣🤣🤣

Let’s go!!! Another shroom vid! Best videos to watch on a work break!
Lesgo Declan! Perfect timing haha 😎
@@ShroomFishing yessir. I was just able to squeeze it in and watched the whole vid. Great Jewy at the end. What did he measure?
@Declan Carroll Awesome, I didn't get a measure but I guess it was around 45 cm 😀
@@ShroomFishing not too bad. Best feeling in the world when it first goes off tho
your wharf sessions are my fav vids
Thanks Aukid, I'll keep doing them
Another great video Shroom, Hope you are well.Hope you get some BIG ones mate.
love the opening to the video, it always makes me laugh knowing that its gonna be good one great fishing, From ya boy's down south
Yes boys! 👍 Always trying to chase that adrenaline hit!
Hey shroom, thanks for always entertaining me and always giving me tips that really help. You are the best!
Hey thank you! Glad to make a difference!
“He’s got eggs” hahahaha u crack me up 🤪😂

Hey Molly just keep what you are doing❤️. Rambling is good.
Thank you Mark, a lot of rambling I do and speaking to myself talk hahaha
Finally , me Thursday fix is here . Can relax now . Im on it . 👌🎣✔
Thanks David! It's here and ready to rock and roll!
great video as always shroomy, i have noticed a lot of trevally around in the parra, should do a trevally video with them.
Sounds good Paddy, I might have to go looking for em! They are such good sport fish

I remember watching from the Manly Ferry as it put its engine into reverse. The crowds of fish attracted to the stirred up sand were incredible.
That's the best type of fishing Ted, I love it when boat craft switches them on for that brief moment
Your videos are the best
Awesome thank you! 😎
Every time I come back from tennis is know I can watch an amazing fishing video
Perfect SrDucky, I just thought I broke my delete button typing this but I put it back together lol

I reckon you need a bigger bait bucket like 20 ltrs and a better air bubbler that one was hardly blowing anything hehe 😝 love ya as always brø
Jorre, totally agree! I'm gonna get a different airator in the future. Gotta keep it pumping!
When you coming to NOOSA Shroom to fish with Scotty and myself ????
One day Paul! Would love to go up there one day and meet up. I'll definitely keep it in mind to go by your way!

They're in creeks 50 metres from the beach..
your aerator isnt working, did you by chance snip the tubing to make it shorter ? i found it only works if you keep the tube the length it is when you first buy it
Thanks Dan, no but we will look into it. The water was extra cloudy, probably not too oxygenated to begin with possibly due to the rain
allowed to fish warfs in the harbour? I strayed away from them cause I didn't wanna risk getting in trouble
Yes but read the signs, not all wharves allow fishing and some have curfews etc.
Great way to end the day
Perfect one for you Christopher!
Just wondering where this warf is
shroom the bait fisho!!
Haha Joshua, I'm trying to do a bit of that 😎
Should have taken the Bream, Mud Crab and Prawn home and made a mixed seafood hotpot with garlic and chilli 🍜 🍴🦀🦐😄
Sounds great! Would have been a top feast if caught in a good area haha

Always nice to soak some bait ...can be productive.
By the way, where did you get the herring from?
Thanks Dave, I really enjoy it at night especially. I got it from another wharf

Thanks Reel Fishing, hard to say but right now I'm thinking meat pies lol
Great vid Shroom. Nice soapy jew.
Thanks BigKev, probably one of the smallest ones I've caught on a decent bait

True Manjeet, I was just a bit lazy especially since everyone seemed okay using dead baits but it's the quickest way to revive them
Aerator wasn’t working. Should have bubbles coming out. Good video though, those ferries are a pain.
Yeah, maybe a weak battery or something. Yeah those ferries can be a bit too frequent to soak a bait for long periods
You’re a very attractive young man with an exceptional vocabulary Shroom.
Aww shucks Fred, thank you for the compliments 😅😎
Nice vid shroom
Thank you! Enjoy

Yeah the big bait, I haven't done well with them Tim but I was okay going big for a big catch because I had a smaller rod/bait on the side
Mate it didnt look like you aerator was working no bubbles coming out of it
Yep you're right David. Sounded okay looked like it was dead. Gonna change batteries and investigate further next session
Heyaa. Air ratar. Where the air 😁 ??😊
Gone up in thin air 😅
that air-rator is broken it wasn't making any bubbles
Yep, gonna see how it goes next session Warwick, might need replacing
Hey m8, what weight is that rod
It's 6-12kg, got a bit of power it in
Bro you need to change the water and that will freshen them, anyway I have caught more Jewies on a slab bait than live.. Good luck.
Thanks Anthony, I was a bit lazy there. I'm getting more into the slab baits as of late. Hoping to get a good one on them!
nice vid
Thanks 👍
Shroom i see you fish with Stella's try spend a couple bucks on a decent bait tank aerator use a Fuji FP 2000 or a 3000 and your bait will stay alive
Will do Garry, gonna get a better aerator
Vic night is really cold nw
It's still warm here, but one night it was especially cooler
🙋♂️
hello, enjoy
yewww
Lesgo!
First and love your videos
Wow had like 5 people in the first seconds. Congrats!
Use whole to catch bigger Jews if you have 2 rod for Jews do 1 filet and whole w 2 circles
Sounds good, I've started to get a bit more into the whole dead bait or fillet bait presentation. I'm loving the circles when there's a few rods out
