Amazing guitar effect pedal from BOSS! The Roland/Boss are my favorite companies and theirs musical products are awesome! Thank you folks! :-)

Price is insane. I will get SD-1 but normal one, not waza craft.

I was really excited to see these from boss until I saw the price. Why do they think an inexpensive mod more than doubles the pedal price. From all the extra marketing I would assume they are not selling well. Boss seems to be getting away from what makes them attractive lately (switcher, waza, etc.) inexpensive pro tools. Reign it in boss, and I mean the cost. I can pick up a used sd1 for 25 and through in .89 cents and get this pedal.

The Mod isn't what you are paying for. You are paying for Waza craft. Every single component is upgraded with a more thorough produciton process. It's made in japan as opposed to Taiwan. Better Build. Less Noise. Better Buffer. True Bypass option.
Most pros move away from Boss pedals because at a certain point the quality is lacking but the Waza pedals upgrade them to pro level. And for some of the Waza offerings, the originals have been long discontinued.

@@TheDilligan oh, really? I thought we were over the idea that some pedals had pixie dust inside. The difference is the mod. When compared to the values on the schematic thru-hole vs smd, film vs tantalum, ceramic vs silver mica are imperceptible.

@@glenncohen4023 there's no pixie dust. Just higher quality parts. Better quality control. It's tougher and will last longer. Less likely it will fail on you. Knobs feel better. Switch feels better. It's less noisy. It's well worth the extra money if you need it to last.
I have had a few of these pedals fail where the waza just lasts.

@@TheDilligan ok. I will assume you are correct. I have had several sd1 (Taiwan and Japanese) I modded most myself. I beat the hell out of them too. I never had one fail over the decades. Point being ALL boss pedals are solid so I am left questioning the need here. Seems like a little marketing and FOMO.

@@glenncohen4023 To some extent it probably is marketing. At least for this one. Some of the others are reissues of otherwise discontinued pedals, so it's cheaper than buying a rare vintage one off of reverb. And the Waza prices are still pretty average as far as pedals go.
But there probably is some justification to the price because I doubt they are as cheap to build in Japan as they are in Taiwan. Production is probably slower. Parts are probably more expensive.
Also the vintage version of this pedal in particular is quite a lot cheaper than most boss pedals. Idk why that is. But the Waza version is about the same price as the others in the series, which makes sense.
