    22 years after aging out at Bloo, and this brought it all flooding back again. Sitting there on finals day realizing you don't ever get to do this again. Who the heck is cutting up onions in my house all of a sudden?

      I totally agree with you my bloo brother. I know that this is a Troopers piece but we are all DCI and while the songs my be different our may be Autumn Leaves and yours my be Battle Hymm we are all bound by the bond of long hard days, sweat blood and tears. I agree who opened up the onion sac in my house. Love all of you whoever you march(ed) for.

    It’s hard for someone who has never been involved in drum corps to understand how much this activity really means to those who earn the right to participate. Thanks for posting this personal moment.

      @Jasmine, Why? The Power, The Dedication, The Majesty of it all, Drum Corps. International in its most precious moments; I remember Casper at Falcons Stadium- Cerritos, CA 81' and Montreal, Canada 82. I was part of this wonderful (DCI) dynasty (1982 Kingsmen- Contra Line), forever within my heart & soul.

      On top of what Kevin Montoya Sr. said...you're human and have feelings. I have NEVER participated in DCI, nor have I ever went to see a show, but that doesn't stop my tears. Paraphrasing "I think, therefore, I am," you feel...you have feelings, and the music lent itself to emotional stirings. Music, along with love, go straight to the heart, where most of the emotions lie in wait. Music is the key that unlocks the door and allows the feelings out...now it's up to us to collect those feelings - slowly - so we can cotinue to enjoy doing what we enjoy...crying over tremendous performances of music that stirs our souls.

    The Troopers 2016 age out was more powerful than in years past, because of the authenticity of this show. In 2016, they created the material themselves. From their own lives. Each of the featured heroes was from a marchers' life-- each was universal, and unique and touched the audience. The show was deeply personal and heartfelt with a subject matter that was grippingly authentic and even profound. The Troopers in years past had been focused on patriotic themes or Western stories and classics, but this was an authentic departure defining who the marching members really were at their core. That's the true battle for the professional artist-- to create shows of substance, deeply personal with authenticity and personal resonance. Bravissimo.

    Yes, you are witnessing a long time heritage of those who have trod the path of the great Wyoming plains of Casper. For those of the past, become those of the present, and of the present, those of the future. When we witness performances like this one, we come to realize as participants, educators, and onlookers that this is the life that yields a breed of responsible people that will always blaze the sounds of the infamous Trooper "Battle Hymn" throughout their lives. To those within this circle of unity, many blessings to all. LOL JW

    As a drum corps man to this day (BSGK), and a retired Army officer, it's this kind of music that says so much, to so many. Brilliant arrangement, perfectly played. Oh yes, I recall aging out. I felt and reacted like many seen here. Well done, Troopers!

    I love watching when men can finally release all of their held emotions..you don't see many men crying out there all across the world. But here, in this circle, you can feel the emotions ringing out of every Trooper. They don't want to go, but time is fading and it's time for them to put their horns down and thank the universe for giving them the opportunity to do this

    This is absolutely awesome! But would be SO COOL if y'all would bring back the classic Kerchner Battle Hymn Chorale arrangement. As great as this is, there's just something about the classic Kerchner chart that's so emotionally gripping and right to the point. xD

      Most all Jr. Drum & Bugle Corps have a similar exit performance for their age-outs. Troopers belong to a unique group where only a hand full of Corps have a history dating back as far as the early sixties.

    What is aging out?

    • @iMuzik3
      @iMuzik3 27 дней назад

      In DCI, an age out is a marching member who has reached the maximum age allowed by DCI. They can no longer continue in the activity as performers with any corps. Aging out = no longer able to perform and exiting the activity/exiting DCI.

    • @iMuzik3
      @iMuzik3 27 дней назад

      Because they've reached the maximum age to perform in Drum Corps International. They cannot continue to do the activity they love and are incredibly passionate about. Some were performers for years, others for one year, but all poured their heart and soul into each and every show with the corps. They're very sad, but also grateful and celebrating their time in the corps and in DCI. This was their swan song performed in their honor by members they've passed the torch to who will continue to carry their spirits in their beloved corps. It's extremely emotional.
