Thank you for your excellent productions, much enjoyed by an expatriate Londoner (and West Berliner/Berliner). I suppose it's ironic that over 70 years since the end of the 2nd. world war, London Overground is now operated by Deutsche Bahn masquerading as Arriva. How times have changed.
Depends on your commute, if you commute from suburb to suburb then the overground is the best but if you work in central London then the tube is the best
As the East London Line was extended to Clapham Junction. Why wasn't there a new station called New Bermondsey on Surrey Canal Road that would of been built and to serve the area and Millwall FC The Den stadium close by. When is the new station on Surrey Canal Road going to be built and to serve Millwall The Den stadium.
UK does all their transport very nicely. Look at London heathrow airport, it's so modern, beauriful, and 1st world. Look at the London tube and compare it to NYC subway... Their trains, everything transport related are so nice there..
+Aventanario, Well I like to compare US to UK because everything there was built around the same time period as well. Sure the subway may be nice in China, or the nice highways and stuff in oil rich gulf Emirates, but they're all relatively new.
There needs to be better overhead shelter with all the rain you get there! Nice trains and stations though otherwise. London is so expensive I couldn't afford to live there.
+D'Angelo Hartley Yes, and indeed it is a good thing (and quite common in Europe), as it conserves the heat in winter or the cool in summer inside the carriage at less busy stations.
Easy to criticize Amtrak, however if Amtrak was properly funded like the railways in the UK or mainland Europe, than anything is possible so your argument is invalid. Btw I run trains for Amtrak along the northeast corridor.
funded? UK national rail (equivalent of Amtrak but more expansive) has been privatised for over a decade because there was not sufficient funding. each region has a different company running it's station. The stations shown in the video are, however, different. they are ran by transport for London which is funded, still not well enough.
Ethano williamo don't be fooled, the government still heavily subsidizes the railways in the U.K and if you don't think they are, they you're a bigger moron than I originally thought.
I'm not gonna start a comment war but you said yourself you work and hence live in America, I live in London. I know that compared to America, they government funds many of our services heavily but schools and free healthcare are in a state of crisis. I would know this as I experience it first hand. The railway are following their footsteps but the only thing stopping them from falling into such crisis is that fares are constantly increasing every year. I'm sure the same thing happens in America but the UK is notorious for its overpriced railways to a point of many documentarys explaining it. Germany's railways are cheap as they receive sufficient funding, a lot more than the UK and a hell of a lot more than the US. Our current mayor of London has literally had to 'freeze fares until 2020' because even he believes they are ridiculous.
Well surprisingly for something that's called the Underground, 55% of its network is actually overground. But it's the *tube-shaped tunnels* that have made it famous, and their depth varies greatly. The Circle, District, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines are just below street level, whereas the Bakerloo, Central, Jubilee, Northern, Piccadilly, Victoria and Waterloo & City lines are deeper than just street level. Also the East London line between Whitechapel and New Cross or New Cross Gate used to be part of the London Underground, with the original northern terminus at Shoreditch, which has been permanently closed.
Station like wapping were like refurbished by its station entrance during the east London line extension plus the station is really old so how can it be widened
the fact that the London overground goes underground and the other way around is still a fun concept to me
Kamineiro It’s just soooooooo fun!!!
This bit of the Overground used to be part of the Underground!
You really capture the atmosphere of the lines, stations and areas that they serve, keep it up. :)

I like it when the 378s run the East London Line, they glow alot, the sounds are so echoey, which is music to my ears.
@@bantodaniel1259 no they're not. They're in service on the East London line only
They are still in service on the North London, West London and South London Lines

The new Shoreditch High Street station is in a more expensive fare zone than the old station, allegedly as revenue protection other stations.
Hoxton is a nice station
Can you do the south London overground line (Surrey Quays to Clapham Junction via Queens Road Peckham & Clapham High Street)?
That's Wapping station?
It's so curvy

Why does Overground go underground
When it's suppose to go Overground
Get it? 😂
Why does the Underground go overground when it's supposed to go Underground?
Because it wouldn’t make sense if it made sense
Hadady London Underground is 55% above ground, so are you implying that should be renamed London (sometimes) Underground?
Well surprisingly for something that's called the Underground, 55% of its network is actually overground. But it's the *tube-shaped tunnels* that have made it famous, and their depth varies greatly.
