So technically or conservatively spoken :-) The subsurface-Underground isnt actually a real metro for a 100%, like at Farringdon station they share stations with national Rail. But the Undergroundtrains run their own tracks next to the Nat-Rails, its almost more similar to the Berlin S-Bahn in that case...
well no. going my your logic, there are no metro services in london becsuse they have stations that bave connections to mainline trains. a metro-style service is generally determined by its frequency and route, rather than the connections with mainline trains. im definitely not 4 hears late
@@mudchute4dlr Sure there are Metro-Services in London, and its for sure one of the greatest (And most fascinating) metro-systems in the entire world. But, in theory, very strictly spoken, not all lines are pure Metros. The Docklands Railway in the other hand is more of a pure metro-network for example... But thats speaking about unimportant details anyway. In the Case of Farringdon its probably a question of space...

Luftschlange, At 4:41 the eastbound London Underground train was a Hammersmith & City line service to Barking, if you look as the back of the train (4:51) you can just make out the much larger H&C banner sign on the bottom electronic indicator.
Awesome video! I live at the station one stop away from West Ham, Bromley-By-Bow. I guess that is a good station to film at because at the end of the westbound platform, it curves a bit so you can get the front of the train easily and you can record c2c trains going past. Nice video of West Ham. You should of got Jubilee and DLR trains too.
What is C2C's mainline called? I know First great Western, now Great western railway, is called Great western mainline. So what is the name of C2C's mainline. LNER, Hull, grand central and GN is east coast mainline. Abellio Greater Anglia is the great eastern mainline and trains running to the south or through the city is the midlands mainline. I don't think it's a mainline as c2c is a completely suburban commuter train
C2C runs the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway. It isn’t really a “mainline” like the Great Western because it has different branches, but the main leg runs from Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness. GWR also run trains on other lines, like down to Cornwall and in Cardiff on branch lines too.

I wonder why TFL operates such a high frequency on each of the lines .Even no peak hours is 1 minute interval .well quite frequent . I guess it is because TFL doesn't want people to stay on the narrow platfom which may cuase danger. So TFL operates a high frequency just to make sure the platform only has a few people . But too high frequency during peak hours means trains may frequently stop in the middle of the tunnel which causes frustration . With short distances between stations mainly , I think TFL should reduce the frequency of each line during no peak hour to like 4 to 5 min per train which MTR adopts . It can save budget and make sure smooth journeys between station.
The only branched with high frequency are the stretches with shared lines, that is why it is congested. When you take the separate lines and branches you see there is a balanced frequency

Do you mean platform to platform? Of yes, you have to go down stairs, walk about 3 meters then go up stairs again
Just like stepford county railway

West Ham has gone from an underused station serving an industrial estate to a major interchange for 5 lines (counting H&C as separate).
