How do you put in the inserts?
They are held in with magnets. A little tough to get out. I will provide more info about this when I post a video about gaming with Apple products. Thanks

Is this the version ucan use on an iPhone and android 🤔 😳 cos I wanna get this for my daughter she as an iPhone but bought to switch back to android and I'm getting me 1 too but for the android, I am not an iPhone user but it would be nice to kno tht ucan buy one of these and they'd fit either phone. 😊
I use an iPhone so I can’t give you any first hand info on android. But Backbone says it works with Android.
Backbone is amazing. I bought it for my little sister for Christmas so she doesn’t have to be in my room all day while I’m gone at work when she wants to play the PS5. She loves it

To be fair, prior to September 2023, there was no usb-c iPhone. So, in February, when this video was published, both devices had been on the market less than 6 months.
Additionally the new version of the backbone didn’t release the same time as the iPhone 15
Btw it's not only for iPhone if other android users were wondering. If it has USB-C it works with any USB-C phone. Also for older gen iPhones there is lightning port models available too

Yeah, I got the non-play station lightning one the other day and it’s amazing.
That was one of the things I disliked about the backbone when I got the 14 pro max. If I didn’t have to remove my case I would have used it more.
Bet saved me a trip to keep my case on

I preferred my razr kishi controller as it had r3 and r4 buttons I could assign for shifting gears during racing games but I upgraded to I phone 15 pro max and only back bone had support for the phone at the time

I got v1 bundled with my new phone back then. If you already have v1, just take out the rubber that holding the phone. It's basically the same controller, they just didn't think most people use cases for their phone, just stupid design mistake.

I did the same thing. I had to return my Backbone to get the one with the removable magnetic inserts.
Just like connecting your ps4 with Bluetooth but this one is amazing!

What about for games I’m not playing on the ps5? I play the NES version of super Mario 3 on my iPhone on an emulator would it work for that too

I have an iPhone 14 Pro and i want to buy it so bad, but i would need to buy the Lightning version. Does anyone know if that version includes the case adapter rubbers, or only the new 15 Model includes it?
the lightning model also has a gen 2 that you can take off the inserts

I LOVE my backbone for my 15 pro max. I have the new v2 PlayStation model, but I still prefer to play with it without using my phone case anyways because it looks and feels way cooler that way. And I play with it in bed anyways. I’d probably consider using a case with it if I was playing on the go outside or something, but that will like, never happen

Same here, I have the 15 pro max and the backbone with out a doubt is the best mobile controller imo I even added Nintendo switch thumb sticks on for more comfortability, I’ve been doing endless gaming on this with emulators etc, this thing it’s truly amazing

Instead of getting a £100 backbone I got a ps5 controller clamp that holds my phone because it’s more comfortable and better and much cheaper
it’s much bigger in size, you can’t take the controller everywhere

I’ll pass, that literally defeats the purpose of the entire mobile experience in my opinion, it’s just a controller, where’s the BB actually connects to your phone turning it into a handheld.

you can. you just have to get a spare case and cut it. if you remove the rubber pads. i now have a case with thebbackbone and one without. works fantastic
Just peel off the rubber, it's very easy. Save you some money.
I got scammed I bought the version 1 which had outdated firmware and I needed to borrow someone’s android to update it
So basically I have to buy a new one if I wanted to upgrade to the iOS 15
No lol the new backbone supports iPhone 15 because iPhone 15 is USB c like android. Now new iPhone and android can share models. f you have a iPhone with lightning you can continue using your lighting backbone

Will the 2nd gen let me play with an iPhone 14 Pro case? I think I have the first gen. Not even sure. It did come with one bumper adapter but can’t play with a case
The iPhone 14 Pro uses a lightning port so it won’t work with this BackBone Controller. Backbone does sell a controller that uses a lightning connection but I do not believe it has the removable inserts necessary to support a case.
Shouldn’t be gaming with the case on can dissipate heat better with it off

No they have a more "XBoxish" controller with ABXY labeled buttons as well. I have a longer video coming out tomorrow that will talk more about the Backbone One and comparing it with another controller I have. Thanks for watching.

Depends on what is important to you. For me, it was important to get one that I can use with my phone case on. YMMV

Just take out the rubber on v1, it's very easy to peel off and don't look ugly. Save you $25 because it's basically just the same controller. You can glue it back with double tape if you want, but why bother tho.
I'd buy it, if it wasn't 100 bucks, also because of it having the PS buttons it will mismatch with a ton of games that only show Xbox prompts on screen, and yeah it is true that Xbox and PlayStation buttons are the same, but I want my controller to match what I see on screen
