I remember seeing him on The Midnight Special like this live. I thought his music was so great. Then he came out with the double album Frampton Comes Alive. It was the greatest collection. Never had to skip one song.
It is very rare to see PF with a Fender Strat... yet here he is! From what I know, he mostly favors his fabled Gibson Les Paul "Phenix" (with 3 humbuckers) and Gibson ES335.... I saw him live here in Washington DC in 2019 and he didn't play the Strat. I wondered why.... Personal preference, maybe. That being said, no matter what he plays or not, he is a genius. (To paraphrase Steve Martin: I don't use that word lightly).

I was a pre-teen in the 1970s and for some unknown reason, I really didn't get into Frampton until I was an adult and I got a cassette tape of Frampton Live. I am glad we can preserve these original performances.

I got to see him in concert for my 21st birthday in 1976, thanks to a friend’s generous gift of tickets to his concert. We were just rows from the stage. It was great! This video brings back great memories.
