I'd suggest the horse logos to be printed at the bottom instead of the ring or (two on the ring like rip suggested). Since the bottom portion never moves would make sense to print them on there. Just my 02. Can't wait to get one.

great RDA but I did have problems with the center post coming loose even after my Vapor shop tried tightening it so they are currently working with the manufacturer to fix the problem in the mean time the loaned me their personal Sig-s which i prefer a little more since the posts are lower to the deck. I have to agree. I got it about a week ago, and have loved it for all the options, but after watching this I see I was only seeing half of them! I never thought about flipping the ring, and that just flat doubled the options I was already excited about! Thanks a ton, Rip!
I think it's mostly the lighting. If he had a soft box light pointed directly at him (or the device when he goes "down low") it wouldn't be reflecting quite so much of the red. White balance may be a quicker change though.
I just got this RDA & I've got it set up on a SXmini. Your Reveiw was awesome, gave me all the information I needed to start vaping except for install cotton and wires and stuff but thank man !
Just got this as my first RDA! I love it so far. First built was .7 ohm dual coil. Never built one before but my first according to the vape store guy was pretty darn good. Using on my zna50 right now but eventually want to get a 100 watt device, then build a lower resistance set up. That would be my home vape and my atlantis on the ZNA would be my on the go vape Your video helped me decide on this!
I love the sigelei 100 watt box mod. I got mine last month. My xmas gift to me. But I really want a good rda now. Ive been using my sig-s and I now have a tugboat v1 and I so wish I wouldve gotten the 2nd version esp bcus u always talk about it now I got it stuck n my head lol. Thanks for another great video!
In the video he talks about the wait list. Just to give ppl a heads up. Within 12 hours of joining the wait list I was able to place my oeder for the Dark Horse. The shiping was super fast as well. From the time I joined wait list to having it in my hands was 3 days. So as for it's air flow and flavor. I'm going to go with rip on this. It's very nice. I'm enjoying it on a 26g dual 9 wrap at .08. Running it on the IPV2 at 30.1 watts. It's just Fantastic! I love it as much as my Mephisto awsome air flow and that's what I love about it.
I have the dark horse rda and I absolutely love it! I'm running mine as a dual coil at .4 ohms and it'll throw clouds like nothing I've ever seen before and the flavor is great as well.
I purchased the dark horse as my first personal rda. A buddy had a plume vale and a nimbus on loan to me with a single 18650 mod (don't know the name). I've got the dark horse on a tesla invader 2. Now out of the 3 set ups I've ran personally do far. This is it. It's better for duel coils then the plume vale, better than the nimbus for single coil. It's harder to run quad coil on this than the plume vale though. If you don't count that as a con given the plume vale is a 4 post, my only con is the single coil mode doesn't have a wide open option like the duel coil does. But the post holes are so large you have no issues running wrapped, parallel, clapton or any other more extravagant build, so a pro there too.
Thank you soooo much for this review. The waiting list does suck but it is worth it. To me this is the best RDA out there right now! Get on the list people because you will love this RDA.
Designers. Measure the depth of the sidewalls to the deck on the Tugboat and copy that. My Tugs are the most solid RDAs that I can take with me all day cause they don't have a shallow deck, the air holes are placed to where they aren't going to act as a juice drain, and the fat oring is snug so it doesn't have that "cheap feeling" spin.
I have this rda and it's amazing the amount of airflow options is out of this world still being new to Rda builds I haven't even begun to use it for all the builds possible but for the ones I do know it works excellent :)
Yup same here man. In a perfect world my rda features would be, medium depth well, fat post holes, 2 hole center positive post, Allen head screws, adjustable 510 copper connection so it'll fit a huge variety of mods, adjustable slotted air flow that will work with single coil also, heat sink like tohb or 454, think that's about everything lol
Vaping has saved my life. I was a 3 pack a day smoker of traditional cigarettes. When I would wake up in the morning I could not breathe. I could not walk up stairs without being winded and out of breath. I stayed congested to the point I felt like I had a chronic sinus infection. I kept bronchitis. I had no energy. I was constantly drained. After a month of vaping all of this has been reversed. To the point I feel in my heart it is a miracle. I feel like I am 10 years younger. Before I felt like I was 65 and that is terrible seeing I am thirty. I feel my age. I can smell and taste. I can live. Let me repeat myself again because it is something worth repeating. I CAN LIVE. I can play football with my girlfriends son. I enjoy the outdoors more. The backlash toward to vaping community is very upsetting. This has saved me from a certain death. I understand we are all going to die. I accept that. But now unlike before my quality of life has improved to the point it makes me emotional. I know how cigarettes made me feel. And I know how vaping has made me feel. So let that speak for itself. Let my ability to play catch in the yard do the speaking. Let the circulation coming back to my legs do the speaking. I just bought a big ass box of old vape stuff for 50 dollars. Apparently money well spent because there is a Limitless gold Rdta, A Dark Horse Rda, A Wismec Theorem Rta, and the Uwell Crown in it. Also some Kangertech mods and various Smok stuff that is in the trash now because none of it worked.

Nice video , Looks like a solid RDA aside from the juice well and leaking , be cool if they figure a solid way to prevent that but anyways for the price it looks nice . I like the color of your back round now ... I am wondering though rip ... What are the best setups right now that are affordable for flavour chase as well as chucking some clouds ... you should do some videos showing full setups , price , why you feel they are best , how long they last , like everything you can cover rather than doing things separate . A lot of people do not know what the best setups are , what they should be paying since they price ranges are so varied etc. They do not know the difference in the builds , type of coil builds , why use 18 gauge , why people use 22 gauge ... please bring some more info to us . Love this thing but have others stated I to have had the center post spin and the juice well is too shallow. this things fits about any build. ATM I am running jumbo vertical coils off a 11/62 bit 4 wraps at .28 I believe it was. there is a little bit of a leaking issue but all drippers do it at some point.
I like my Dark Horse. flip over gold ring so horse is upside and rotate so both sides have a small slit on each side for air flow and you get great flavor with decent vapor.
I have a dark horse rda with a 22 daul parrallel build i get some leakage but i strongly suggest the dark horse by far my favorite rda since my plume veil cloud is there flavor is chucking! lol and if you have a fast whicking organic cotton you shouldnt have a problem with the juice overflowing i recently switched to cotton bacon and the amount of flavor and rapid rate that the juice absorbs is crazy plus i can get around 6 to 9 "big" cloud hits with no dry hits and not to mention that my build is .1 ohm
Just picked this up, and I tell you what I love this more than my subtank. It does what rip says chucks the vape and never sacrifices flavor. It's chilling on a 70w ipv mini2. Which is alright but I can't build below a .2 which sucks. Anyways pick this thing up like now
Mic is still a bit hot (although sounds nice and clear otherwise :)). Try reducing the gain a bit, and test using the loudest part of your spiel. The loudest parts should peak out at about -6dB. Then compress the voice track (in post) at about a 4:1 or 6:1 ratio, fast attack and fast release. Get a gain reduction (using the threshold control) of about -6dB to -8dB at your loudest parts, then bring the track volume up to normal levels (unless your compressor automatically makes up for the gain reduction, in which case just roll with it, using the track fader to correct any overs). After that, you should be golden. Just my 2 cents, but I hope it helps. Vape on! :)

RiP you should review the Big Buddha By EHPRO it is awesome the best 26650 tank ive used its easy to build its like a Kayfun on steroids and i have personally built mine down to .12 ohms and on my fat snow wolf this thing really chucks it. It is a solid product, super affordable and i think EHPRO really got it right with this one .
@ Jake it is authentic I've cleared the serial number... but the center pin does spin slightly it does have all the air flow options and everything is the way it's supposed to be but I was just stating how far off on price he was but it's prolly cuz when it first début it was that price... still a decent rda tho.. wish the insulator was made of peke instead of plastic tho
There's a rumor out there saying Riptrippers is paid off by companies for good reviews. True or not, the reviews I've fallowed up on, this darkhorse and a few others, have been honestly pretty well. The dark horse was always told to be a cloud chaser not a flavor chaser, however; I've known no such thing. .2ohm on the Sigelei 100w plus in the darkhorse 26g wire. I get great flavor and great cloud.
CLT makes a clone for 35. it's spot on. only difference is I did have to clean it. it's my favorite out of all my rdas. even beats my tugboat in my opinion
If you don't like your horsey's upside down then use the damn thing like it was meant to be used FFS. Use it the way they built it. Or don't complain about a negative when there is no negative when you decide that you want to use it other than the way it was meant to be. There is absolutely no cons in this dripper. Fab.
I have brought a smok alien 220w and I'm waiting for a griffin rdta and so far I've had Clapton coils in my velocity v2 on my smok alien and I love it. So if the Rdta comes I'm gonna be happy
Rip every rda I've received has always been super clean to where I could just vape it, I have a plumeveil, trident, and igo-w with all of them being perfectly clean

Awesome review, but I work at a vape store in NH and we have had several Dark Horses in all ready and sold >.> So they're not that hard to find if you go to your vape shop and ask them to get it. Also I vaped off the thing and it is great. So that con is only towards people who are ordering online :D
My local vape shop (which I love because it sells to minors, I'm 16) sells the dark horse for $30 and it's not a clone. I think the only downside is that it doesn't come with the smaller drip tip and I also havnt seen it with the limited edition white drip tips.
i have the clone and it is exactly the same the only difference is that it has one horse on the side of it and it didnt come with the grub screws but it came with different sleeves black crome copper and gold and it came with both white and black tips
Hey Rip Trippers, do you think you can do a sorta introductory video for people looking into mechanical mods? I have been using a basic vape setup (Evod VV battery with an iClear 30B tank) and am tired of them and want to get into mechanical mods. I have been researching the dangers and how there is no computers holding anything back and things like that. I am very interested for the fact of building your own coils and how you can customize them to the settings you desire.

They need to make a version 2 with a deeper juice well, IMO. Other than that, it's amazing, and everyone drools when they see it on my ipv3.

You gotta white balance your camera if you shoot in an entirely red room. Everything looks.... red.

this rda is awesome I have had mine for 2 years an still loving it I use it on box mod an mech mod
Loving this RDA. My other RDA is taking a back seat. The minute airflow adjustment allows me to tweak my vape's flavour intensity pretty well.

been using the dark horse for a week now as it's newly aquired and the top cap is still secure and tight it doesn't fall off like rip says
I managed to get it at one of my local vape shops! pretty good rda. had some issues at first but fixed them easily

i bought a Dark horde RDA for $34 at my local shop J.H.T. Vape it has black silver and gold color options with it.
Using this RDA on my Sigelei 30W mini. Have a .5ohm build in her. Clouds bro clouds!

My friend just gave me his Dark Horse mod for free today and I am loving it so much!
Just picked this up, and I tell you what I love this more than my subtank. It does what rip says chucks the vape and never sacrifices flavor. It's chilling on a 70w ipv mini2. Which is alright but I can't build below a .2 which sucks. Anyways pick this thing up like now

Mic is still a bit hot (although sounds nice and clear otherwise :)). Try reducing the gain a bit, and test using the loudest part of your spiel. The loudest parts should peak out at about -6dB. Then compress the voice track (in post) at about a 4:1 or 6:1 ratio, fast attack and fast release. Get a gain reduction (using the threshold control) of about -6dB to -8dB at your loudest parts, then bring the track volume up to normal levels (unless your compressor automatically makes up for the gain reduction, in which case just roll with it, using the track fader to correct any overs). After that, you should be golden.

RiP you should review the Big Buddha By EHPRO it is awesome the best 26650 tank ive used its easy to build its like a Kayfun on steroids and i have personally built mine down to .12 ohms and on my fat snow wolf this thing really chucks it. It is a solid product, super affordable and i think EHPRO really got it right with this one .
@ Jake it is authentic I've cleared the serial number... but the center pin does spin slightly it does have all the air flow options and everything is the way it's supposed to be but I was just stating how far off on price he was but it's prolly cuz when it first début it was that price... still a decent rda tho.. wish the insulator was made of peke instead of plastic tho
There's a rumor out there saying Riptrippers is paid off by companies for good reviews. True or not, the reviews I've fallowed up on, this darkhorse and a few others, have been honestly pretty well. The dark horse was always told to be a cloud chaser not a flavor chaser, however; I've known no such thing. .2ohm on the Sigelei 100w plus in the darkhorse 26g wire. I get great flavor and great cloud.
CLT makes a clone for 35. it's spot on. only difference is I did have to clean it. it's my favorite out of all my rdas. even beats my tugboat in my opinion
It leaks. So. Much. I LOVE the airflow and the chuck cap it comes with but the leaking kills my juice supply
For reference I run a dual macrocoil (.24 ohms) 11 wrap with 24g nichrome on an iPV3 at 150 watts (my cloud chasing build)
If you don't like your horsey's upside down then use the damn thing like it was meant to be used FFS. Use it the way they built it. Or don't complain about a negative when there is no negative when you decide that you want to use it other than the way it was meant to be. There is absolutely no cons in this dripper.

I have brought a smok alien 220w and I'm waiting for a griffin rdta and so far I've had Clapton coils in my velocity v2 on my smok alien and I love it. So if the Rdta comes I'm gonna be happy
Rip every rda I've received has always been super clean to where I could just vape it, I have a plumeveil, trident, and igo-w with all of them being perfectly clean

Awesome review, but I work at a vape store in NH and we have had several Dark Horses in all ready and sold >.> So they're not that hard to find if you go to your vape shop and ask them to get it. Also I vaped off the thing and it is great. So that con is only towards people who are ordering online :D

My local vape shop (which I love because it sells to minors, I'm 16) sells the dark horse for $30 and it's not a clone. I think the only downside is that it doesn't come with the smaller drip tip and I also havnt seen it with the limited edition white drip tips.

You could just take off the outer barrel and use it like that. it wouldn't be good for transport, but you'd have airflow for days

i have the clone and it is exactly the same the only difference is that it has one horse on the side of it and it didnt come with the grub screws but it came with different sleeves black crome copper and gold and it came with both white and black tips

Hey Rip Trippers, do you think you can do a sorta introductory video for people looking into mechanical mods? I have been using a basic vape setup (Evod VV battery with an iClear 30B tank) and am tired of them and want to get into mechanical mods. I have been researching the dangers and how there is no computers holding anything back and things like that. I am very interested for the fact of building your own coils and how you can customize them to the settings you desire.
