I'd say water storage for the water tank to be able to water the garden from rainwater! Build a stand for it, shine it up and have a valve at the bottom.
This was my suggestion as well. Either cut it in half lengthways for two long planters, or cut the ends off for two small planters (and some middle left over)
That gorgeous, crisply focused shot of the borage and bees against the dark background almost made me cry. Definitely Gardeners World quality. You probably already know, but the leaves taste like cucumber and are good in soups.
it's great how your livelihood is officially dependent upon you remodeling your own house. The more you do for yourself the more you are rewarded what a perfect life.
It is very important, once in a while, when you think you might have bit more than you can chew, to step back and look at what you have achieved and done so far. That way you mentally get a re-set and re-inspired =) But i'm sure you knew that already! Keep on putting out the great content and doing great work. We are all rooting for ya!
I was wondering when the glass lean-to would be coming down. This episode will leave me still wondering when the glass lean-to is coming down. Great work on moving the door.
Cut the water tank in half sideways, weld some legs onto the bottom half and drill a few holes, add a handle for the upper half and add some hinges - better than a Weber 😜
The hot water thermosiphon for a hot tub is cool. Very easy to make a copper coil that goes into the tub, and cold water comes back from tub at base of the boiler. When you add a heat source to the coil… like a rocket stove setup, it thermally pumps and circulates the water creating heated water for the tub
The back area is a bit cramped relative to the fence line anyway. Getting rid of the conservatory will make the back yard feel far more expansive. Indeed the renovations generally make the house feel far more open (both internally and in terms of natural light) and roomy.
Haha fish and chips for the win, sometimes a treat lifts the spirits. As for biting off more than u can chew, that's how I feel after most weekends of my reno haha, it's all progress though eh so it's all good stuff. Love the pantry light too.
My wife and I have been watching your channel for years and really enjoy it. My wife is tickled every time Scott says “Smoko Time!” and I would love to get her a t-shirt with this on it for Christmas, but can’t find any merchandise on your website. Do you sell merch? If not, you totally should. It’s a great way to add (mostly) passive revenue to your platform. Keep up the great work! 🌺
Great stuff, Scott. To be honest, the list did sound like one I would make for a day and then, nope, no way. The cabinet lighting is excellent. Loving that kitchen!
Hi Scott keep the conservatory panels and build Jess a greenhouse with it. As for the copper tank I'd keep it something to do with it will jump out at you.
I say keep the copper! I feel that what you do with it could be a nice and unique touch for your space. Looking forward to see what you can come up with.
To be honest I thought your list was a bit ambitious! You did get the door in though! If that was me I would have started all three tasks at once and finished none of them! 😁 I like the idea of a water collector for the garden. Polish up the copper and then clear coat it so it stays shiny! Either that or cut it in half and make two Astromech Droids out of it! 🤖
Always relaxing to watch you work Scott. I am a carpenter in the uk and life is hectic. You must find a massive difference from when you worked over here yourself? If anything is replaced over here, it tends to be brand new. Keep up the good work bud.
If doing more cupboard lights I would highly recommend the HPM Cupboard Door Switch you can grab from Bunnings. Instant on/off when door is opened or closed.
if you planning on building a bbq area, then maybe consider chopping in half and using it as a fire/bbq tank. check out south african braai diy things for ideas. love you guys!!!
You should put a toe kick drawer in the kitchen. I've always wanted one, you can do it! It's a good place to stick stuff like a brush and shovel. Or perhaps oven and baking trays.
I have one and I LOVE it!!!!! Though to be fair I’ve had it over a year now and I frankly don’t know what to put in it. We ended up with a lot of storage with our recent kitchen remodel… But I still absolutely adore having it!
2 Troth Fire/Water Feature. My Idea for the Tank is to cut it into two long halves, make some simple legs to hold it in a troth like position. Plumb in some gas and pipe with many holes in it that is capped on the end, bury the pipe in tumbled glass and have a small fountain behind it, or also in it. Sound difficult but its really not. I have built something higher-end, but same idea.
I remember my electrician saying that if he vacuumed up after himself, it would be the most expensive cleaning job you could get . Are those pantry LEDs fixed vertical? Good idea to light all shelves..
Cut the copper tank straight down the middle to make two long troughs for veggies or herbs to grow out of. Make some legs for them to be at working height! You could braize some copper pipe for irrigation!
I don’t know for how many years I’ve been watching your content. I’ve learned a lot and I’ve been entertained even more. Thank you very much! And as a nice benefit, when we are in a cold depressing winter, I get to enjoy beautiful spring/summer New Zealand. Cheers from Berlin.
G,day Scott and Jess from Sydney Australia. What to do with the copper tank? Art installation Giant Diode: paint it tan with bands of colors. Then weld two reo bars of each end and paint silver. 🌏🇭🇲
These small IR sensors are great, I have used different sizes for things like extractor fans in a bathroom, walk in storage on the side of the house and cupboards in my garage
a few days late this week Scott? I love watching SBC with a cup of tea on Sat morning. as for the copper, go straight down to the local scrap metal dealers, they pay good money for copper !!
I’ve made an outdoor wood fire pizza over with a similar style water heater really easy just need a grinder and some basic hardware can paint black too for a more modern design.
I'd say water storage for the water tank to be able to water the garden from rainwater! Build a stand for it, shine it up and have a valve at the bottom.
Came to suggest the same! Would be neat cleaned up and mounted on the corner of the house- maybe built into a potting bench?
I was going to suggest the same thing, that copper patina already looks so outdoorsy. That or a liquor still.
Ohhhh yes I like this idea!
Build a still! Or brew your own.....
I made a fountain out of mine . Ran a pump and hose up the middle. Cylinder sit in a pond with the water cascading down sides
That water tank will make two wonderful copper planters for the garden and they will develop a gorgeous verdigris patina with time. Go for it!
This was my suggestion as well. Either cut it in half lengthways for two long planters, or cut the ends off for two small planters (and some middle left over)
I also thought it was perfect for Jess to have more planters!
That gorgeous, crisply focused shot of the borage and bees against the dark background almost made me cry. Definitely Gardeners World quality. You probably already know, but the leaves taste like cucumber and are good in soups.
Copper vessel is perfect to begin building a still. You could be cooking up some moonshine in no time.
it's great how your livelihood is officially dependent upon you remodeling your own house. The more you do for yourself the more you are rewarded what a perfect life.
The old copper tank must become a gin still, it's the only possible future for it😂🎉
A still that's painted to look like a Minion.
New shirt idea ,"But can he flip a door?"

Pleased to see you’ve sorted the door area Scott, looking forward to the rest of the kitchen fit. Thanks for the latest exciting episode.👍👍

Great b roll….favourite part of the show 😊
Haha fish and chips for the win, sometimes a treat lifts the spirits. As for biting off more than u can chew, that's how I feel after most weekends of my reno haha, it's all progress though eh so it's all good stuff. Love the pantry light too.
oh, you don't just "get a cat", cat will just move in when cat deems the house to be good enough for their new residence.
The cat arrives when the cat distribution system deems it to be appropriate. :D

"Even putting stuff on the van" hardware man, is currently binge watching the last 5 years of Scott Brown Carpentry.
Hi Scott keep the conservatory panels and build Jess a greenhouse with it. As for the copper tank I'd keep it something to do with it will jump out at you.
@scottbrowncarpentry if you want a small poker to vibrate the concrete use an sds drill against the timber
Good idea!
A water tank that is joined to your gutter system then you have free water for your plants in the garden
I say keep the copper! I feel that what you do with it could be a nice and unique touch for your space. Looking forward to see what you can come up with.
In this exciting episode SB reveals he is secretly a ninja (gloves at 2:48.) THIS is my fav channel. Period.
Great video as always. Best channel on RUclips.
I reckon cut the water tank in half, long ways, then make a rustic garden bed / planter box
My friend took the copper cylinder, flattened it out polished it and used it for a kitchen backsplash. Looked awesome
We have 2 both sides of the hot house as water tanks, great for the watering can.
Shed is looking mint 🖌

Great soundtrack on that one Scott. Almost nostalgic.
Turn the copper thingy into a backyard water feature!
An excellent Tuesday surprise!
I could help but notice that skip bin is a very nice 'Square space'..
Cut it up and make a water fountain for the garden
Saw you hanging the door up and thought to myself "But can he hang a door Scott?" 😅 bring back the merch
Build a water heater for an outdoor shower.
Aotearoan spring time, lucky ba....ds ... Exciting episode, though
We have a couple that I’ve been collecting. We’ll be grinding/cutting them in half lengthways to use as planters on our deck 😃
Your opening comment regarding electricians is SO accurate 🤣
Make as a garden bed would look and style of the old copper on it
If doing more cupboard lights I would highly recommend the HPM Cupboard Door Switch you can grab from Bunnings. Instant on/off when door is opened or closed.
Copper tank could be a tall drinks cabinet if its possible to cut it in half or make a door
Same, we spent a similar amount for 3sqm! Congratulations 🎉
The copper tank would make for a cool garden sculpture of some kind.
if you planning on building a bbq area, then maybe consider chopping in half and using it as a fire/bbq tank. check out south african braai diy things for ideas. love you guys!!!
i dont have telegram but all you need is just google south african braai diy. it will give you a few ideas on a personal build.
Make a hangi/steamer or a sick looking smoker bbq using the copper tank!
I feel like Ray dies a little inside everyone Scott gets a new gifted tool
Ahhhh mid week bliss. There better be a video on friday 😂
Split it long ways and use it as 2 matching planters in the garden!
The garden looks amazing! Kudos. On top of everything else of course!
The hardware guy baffled by the camera haha, "Even putting stuff in the van...?" How else would us viewers know where the wood came from!?
I feel your pain overestimating the work you can achieve in a day. There just isn't enough time.
This is my favourite you tube channel.
So good, one my RUclips favorites
You fell off the skateboard and now you didn’t land the jump. I think we’re going to need a “Super Dave” intro for every video moving forward!
moonshine and beer production using the boiler as a Still
Hi Scott Look up Cocoon Penguin Tasmania Linda makes the most amazing furniture using recycled copper from old HWS units Her speciality is tables
14:30 Red Sky at night, light of shorter wavelengths is being dissipated by water vapour and atmospheric dust.
Red Sky in the morning ... Same.
Bless you!
Definitely more chaotic pacing than usual but still so well crafted.
Copper thing... turn it horizontal, cut it open, fit some grills - have a 4 foot long bbq 😂
Wait! What day is this?!? New content on a different day? I'll take it!
You should put a toe kick drawer in the kitchen. I've always wanted one, you can do it! It's a good place to stick stuff like a brush and shovel. Or perhaps oven and baking trays.

Damn those chips look good!
Lookin good!

Should make a coal BBQ grill out of the copper tank.
Sell the cylinder and buy Jess a small glasshouse for plants and herbs
I remember my electrician saying that if he vacuumed up after himself, it would be the most expensive cleaning job you could get . Are those pantry LEDs fixed vertical? Good idea to light all shelves..
Awesome episode great b-roll 👏👏👏
Cut the copper tank straight down the middle to make two long troughs for veggies or herbs to grow out of. Make some legs for them to be at working height! You could braize some copper pipe for irrigation!
Or sell it and get $300😂
You could make matching lampshades for each room in the house to make a nice theme
Scott your content makes me miss home so much 🇳🇿 thanks for all your amazing work
The light in the cabinet is great, but won’t the contents block the dead switch.
Another great video!
Preheater feed for your hot water cylinder.
G,day Scott and Jess from Sydney Australia.

Man, those cabinets are just incredible.
These small IR sensors are great, I have used different sizes for things like extractor fans in a bathroom, walk in storage on the side of the house and cupboards in my garage
I love then unit door fronts, just wish there was a good way to make them handle less
Here in OZ I taught my young granddaughters how to speak with a NZ accent... chish and fups.
So good SBC.. love it guys ! 😎also great to see a video midweek .🎉
do a smoker with the old copper tank
a few days late this week Scott? I love watching SBC with a cup of tea on Sat morning. as for the copper, go straight down to the local scrap metal dealers, they pay good money for copper !!
Maybe you fabricate a cool cylindrical/drum thing for a bar/beverage situation… that’s got a mid century flair too it I reckon!
Cut it in half length ways and make a bbq grill
You take care of my light brother!
Outdoor solar shower for the tank!
I’ve made an outdoor wood fire pizza over with a similar style water heater really easy just need a grinder and some basic hardware can paint black too for a more modern design.
Not sure how it works compared to the UK but I'd take it straight down the scrappies, get a nice amount for that
You can build a realy good thermo-battery of that old heater. Really works to. Free heat! for in the workshop with a dieselheater.
Classic "electrician with a vacuum comment" 🤣
Distillery! ❤
Use your Veges Jess to make a S.B. carpentry still...🎉
Id turn the copper into this........... sell it for scrap. Buy a fews beers with the proceeds and sit in the sun whilst drinking em.
Ridgid has the same tool free system on thier oscillating tool. Both makita & Ridgid are owned by TTI...
I find mixing concrete by hand in a wheelbarrow or mixing pan a lot easier than a bucket.
Thought it is Friday Scott, you are messing up my schedule! 😆
Normally Saturday morning in AU whilst having breakfast and coffee, much more civilised than watching on Wednesday while at work having lunch.
