  • I love playing against the King's Indian! It's not that it's a bad opening, but that it's almost impossible for black to come back into the game if they mess things up early on.
Black relies on active play to compensate for the lack of space in the King's Indian, and, if there is none, they're just worse. Black needs to force open lines for activity. In this game, my opponent failed to do so. In fact, they ended up voluntarily closing the position down and allowing me to be the one controlling the key pawn breaks. It became the first game I'd ever played in which my opponent did nothing for over 30 moves. There was no plan that didn't lose or sac material and they were just waiting to lose. Eventually, I arranged my pieces perfectly, broke through, and it was over 2 moves later.

As a titled player, you seriously need a bigger chessbase! There are at least 3 games featuring 8...Nb8 and 9...Bc8, albeit none at a high level. The games are Varela - Frank 2007 (1-0 in 25); Silva - Martins 2019 (0-1 in 58); and Torres - Guayara Diaz 2019 (1-0 in 33). For 8...Nb8 alone, I can find 19 games, including one between a pair of 2400s (Xu - Mencinger 1987, draw in 25).

hi thx for the interesting video, i really appreciate your work.
im still a beginner i would say, so i have difficulties following you talking about hypothetical moves. Could u maybe draw arrows when u are talking about specific moves?

On your challenge to viewers, I had the right idea but I thought Black could cancel it out by getting his knight to f6 first and swapping, but Stockfish says White's knight doesn't even have to get to g4. As soon as Black plays Nf6 White can sacrifice on either g5 or h6, depending on where Black's queen is. The attack is instructive.

15:04 After battle, everyone can be a general, but I think it is to easy see that g4 idea was a mistake. First, knight is more than a bishop in super closed positions like this. Also, you blocked your bishop under your pawn chain, so it couldn't participate in the attack.

Thanks for the instructive video. I've been struggling in the KID because of these positional moves/plans like transferring the knight to g4 in your game. This video helped me a lot!

Hello sir, It would be very cool to put the evaluation bar on the side of the board. This would be great to help us get a better understanding of the position and how big/small the advantages are. It would make your videos a lot more instructive and engaging.

It makes it so much better to hear his thoughts and evaluate yourself. You’re not understanding the position by looking at the evaluation, you’re just reading the answers. You will only become worse I think

@@gus8696 His thoughts and ideas are still going to be there. He will explain his thoughts and how he understood the position. But we will also get the evaluation bar to get a real perspective of the position.
He does the same thing analysing his training games. We get the though process as well as the accurate evaluation. It works very well.
Not to mention that it would make the videos more understanding for a larger audience that is not as good at chess like you guys. More people will watch his videos, more people learn from him, more people will fall in love with chess.
I think he should try putting the evaluation bar on at least one video. If it doesn't work, no more evaluation bar.

15:47 the Narodistky rule is basically: if it takes 3 moves to transfer a piece it’s not good, it’s 2 moves or less it’s good.
