Halfway through this video I started poking away at my Digitone. Next thing I knew it was 2 hours later and I was lost in a reverb-drenched land of plinky FM ambient. Thanks for another fabulous video!
"Hi... My name is Jeremy, this is rezmeanz.. ziss.. I already screwed this up."
Hahahaha, not even 10 seconds in and i'm cracking up smiling. Thank you for not redoing the intro!
9:24 glad to hear I’m not the only one who occasionally makes a sequence and just zones out thinking: “wow, this sounds nice and soothing”
seems like completely normal thing to do
Hey, Jeremy!
Just want to say that I started to make electronic music because of your videos. Thank you for that, it makes my life brighter a lot. You're a great artist, please, don't stop.
Surprising harmonies are the best harmonies. Thanks for highlighting this form of composition. All the best.
Mate. These Chilling with Digitone videos have been really helpful and super fun. Thanks man
Hi Jeremy, you are a briliant Sound Engineer and Artist - I appreciate you. That said I'd like to see a video on making a specific song made with the Digitone. Try some liquid drum and bass, something to drive down an LA highway at night to
Yet again, amazing sounds, from one machine! You are one talented dude. I've spent a small fortune over the years, on music nowhere near as good as your making, in the time it takes to have a coffee!!
Stay strong my friend, peace!
I really appreciate the informative and fun videos you make. It’s really nice to have a genuine human explaining their process and expressing their weirdness for us all to enjoy. Thanks.
Your videos are the main reason I've been getting more into the synth world. Super inspiring. Keep bein awesome, or maybe don't because you're also the reason every paycheck I get I somehow end up with another lil' instrument and I don't know how long I can keep that up.
I really appreciate your honest noodling.
This is so helpful and a huge inspiration. You've made the clearest tutorials with the Digitone out of anybody on RUclips. Hopefully there will be more.
I get excited when I see one of your new Digitone videos pop up! Very talented I must say.
Got laid off today. Chilling with you for a little while is exactly what I need right now. I wish I could say something that would provide you with the comfort that you provide me. Thank you for all that you do, and for sharing it with us.
I'm sorry to hear about your job :(
I'm getting even more value from my Diggitoné thanks to you, good sir.
Just discovering these videos. Thanks for making them. I’m reentering the world of EMP and just got this. I was a bit lost and was starting to feel some buyers remorse and now I feel like I’m fortunate to own one of the best synths on the market...thanks to your videos.
Sweeeeet weird semi generative ambient stuff
I love how you top guys support each other.
@@tybowesformerlygoat-x7760 top guys? The top guys are the ones playing the huge festivals across the globe. These guys are simple advertisers/gear-pushers 😉
Great series, Jeremy! I would love to see it continue into a some episodes where you make a song from scratch on the Digitone. Thanks!
This series on the Digitone is amazing, Jeremy, but this clip in particular is great just because the ambient sound is so curiously pleasing & interesting. Reading between the lines (or perhaps the not so subtle hints in your recent videos), it sounds like things are rough for you at the moment. I don't know what you're going thru & I know it's so difficult to have even a little bit of a public presence & to present any kind of performative face when you feel terrible. I just want to thank you so much for still sharing your creativity & music with us, in whatever form you choose to, with whatever regularity. I subbed to your channel a few months ago & you've been a massive inspiration for me to get back into music & expression. No matter what happens, I hope your life works out. I'm a world away (in Australia) on the internet but I see you & appreciate you.
Thanks for spreading the good vibes, Vroenis! I second everything you've said!
Really digging this machine!! You can play everything!! Good work jeremy!!
This is the exact moment I wanted a digitone.
Thanks for this Red, been working on beast for a couple weeks now. A lot to learn :)
Jeremy, massive big up! You style of making video and story telling is super awesome.
Thanks for this video and I appreciate your work and efforts to inform us all. Keep rocking my friend and have a wonderful day✌🏾❤️✊🏾
Thanks for being awesome and sharing. Your videos have really inspired me to make music again. I gave up on music in the 90s, even though I was signed to various major labels, the industry was very cut throat back then and I walked away. Years later, your videos have reminded me about the joy of making music again. I’m thinking of buying the op-1 but I keep holding out to see if I can find something just as good or better. Something just as capable, dawless. Would love to see you make tracks with the elektron.
Anyway, thanks for saving a dying part of myself.
I see from your channel you got the op1! Jelly dude, hope you like it
@@jammintoast I love everything about it
“People are telling me to kill myself, I already want to do that” but who will I watch to see passive aggressive text over chill music :(
RUclips tells me he uploaded this vid 45 minutes ago, but you commented 54 minutes ago...
WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR?
That is a ‘no joke’ topic.
@@TD05SSLegacy Nah man, no topic is off limits to jokes.
Go to 4 chan , even there youll get more support than here
@@TD05SSLegacy Actually, levity from someone who cares is totally fine as long as it's obvious that they aren't apathetic to you.
This is amazing. Keep being amazing.
crazy beautiful, wasnt really considering one of these until i saw your soft music, do nothing performance. youre amazing my dude, thank you for everything youre giving to the world
This and the Digitakt are just incredible pieces of kit. Endless possibilities, only your imagination. Great inspiration RMR, thank you!
Jeremy, never stop doing what you're doing. And don't listen to the haters!
man, I love this. love your skills, those comments, the music and your teaching. could listen to this all day long😎
Stay strong Jeremy, I love your content and you , keep up the good work!
That is some delicious pasta.
Nice sound, Jeremy, very subtle, I like it. Thx for your job, keep it up, pls
This is a great video, thanks a lot!
I've already had such a great time with this tiny box in the few hours I've owned it, and I can't even imagine what sort of rabbit hole I'm going to fall into now!
This is my Xmas holiday sorted now!
Keep on with the videos, very informative and entertaining without being over the top!
Happy Xmas!
PS: about the haters, well, have you seen what Hainbach made of it? Perfect answer to the trolls!
"metroNOME"?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
dude, Jeremy for president. seriously.
Métronomé! Love it
I read this like 5 seconds before it happened and laughed extra hard because of it.
Man I always enjoy your stuff. You helped me pull the trigger on modular over the OP1.
0:50 pure gold. you've made my summer
Just awesome. Thanks for sharing. Hang in there, man!
You're basically the Bob Ross of Music Production
Thank you Jeremy. I've had my Digitone for a few weeks and been already fooling around with doing semi generative stuff but this was still a very inspiring video and I learned a few tricks. The main reason I got this machine was mainly for doing stuff like this - it sends me into another world where chaos seems to make sense and everything falls into its right place. I would love to see you do more videos on the Digitone :-) Hope you have a good day too, cheers.
This is good stuff. You have given me many good ideas.
Courage, Jeremy! I love your videos and I hope you feel better soon. Sending hugs.
Jeremy. You're great and what you do is amazing. Don't let the trolls get to you!
Go away trolls!
Awesome, finished a track using this technique, can get lost in it for hours, thanks for the tips!!!
Thanks
You are awesome! Love the vibes of your channel. Regarding the hate comments, some people are miserable inside, don't let a single asshole get to you.
"Is that an Elektron generative tune?" "YARP."
great video if I get the digitone this is first thing I'm doing with it. Your channel rocks!
Thank you for the video! Very cool ways to use the arpeggiator. I would also love to learn how to write long notes on the Digitone and change the timbre through time.
Your final result immediately conjured up Blade Runner 2049 for me.
Great video - thankyou. I found it very clear and informative
Wow beautiful sounds and great ambient tutorial. OK.... damn now I want the Digitone...Lol. I have an Octatrack and a Digitakt and I was just starting to get a hold on these two wild animals......I and now seriously considering the Digitone.
Don’t care any asshole’s around, you’re doing a great stuff! Keep going!
Now i want a digitone because of you 😆
This is lovely, J.
I gotta say the Elektron Dijon is a pretty spicy instrument.
"And that's how that shit works. Boop."
This is lovely. I've found your videos very helpful in getting around my Digitone, just wanted to say THANK YOU. I think the Digitone is an amazing instrument. Do you have a video where you give tips on creating/tweaking drum sounds on the Digitone? The envelope and filters ar incredibly sensitive on the Digitone which is a sound designer's dream but for amateur like me puts me down many rabbit holes. My jam session last night turned to an hour tweaking one snare but that hour taught me a lot.
Another great video!! My digitonay is arriving tomorrow.
Metronomé, digitoné I love it oné
Many thanks . I’m trying to experiment tonight :)
Awesome job! Thx for the tips👍🏼
Thanks.
holy crap i love your music.
This is sick. (Good sick. Like stellar; but cooler)
Beautiful, thank you.
Amazing sound design! Thanks Jeremy! (Turns on Digitone and starts to waste the rest of the day turning knobs...)
I just realised that the arp can be used to do rolls on the digitone...gosh, my first non-copy-paste idea!
Yes please
Digitoné ❤
Lovely video!
Yesss soo good, thank youu! 🙏
60bpm is super fun to jam to
I think the internet is sorely lacking in resources on developing an intuition about FM synthesis beyond the beginner level. There's plenty of stuff about what FM synthesis "is", but it never goes beyond introducing the basics carriers, modulators, and algorithms. When it comes to sound design, why is one algorithm preferable to another? What is the purpose of feedback/cross-modulation in an algorithm? What is happening to the spectrum/waveform at different ratios? Basically, how does one become more intentional when using FM for sound design?
Thanks for the great videos. Your OP-1 videos inspired me to start making electronic music.
really lovely video, man.
What more do you need? It's just excellent. I agree, it's cool.
It is brilliant, thanks !
Hey mate please see a GP. I love you and your videos and on the last one picked up not everything was fine. It's ok. You are not alone. I suffer from both anxiety and depression, I feel it's pretty common with people that make music. Just make a step forward please. I love you dude.
We need mooooore!
Really appreciating your channel, Jeremy!
Very nice ambient pattern :-D
Digi tone' heh. I like the patterning. It's a very interesting way to stop beat block i figure.
this sound so much like the music in astroneer, you should check it out.
Man you just turned my Digitone into the magic ambient machine I wanted it to be from the start! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart :-) just a question: I am experimenting with arpeggio lenghts and by adding empty notes in the arpeggiator but I am not sure about the technical theory behind that. I do understand that an odd lenght give way to non repeating sequences, but how do you choose which notes to remove for example when you have 2 or 3 arpeggios and you don’t want the notes to fight each other too much?
Gorgeous Jeremy.
To have almost 300K subscribers and only have 600 views atm, that means y'all haven't done yourself a favor and check the bell icon.
Beautiful J, loved this and ignore the hate - you're too talented :)
I kinda always hated the Digitone/Digitakt, always thought it was too much menu diving, but daaang this sound...you might have bought me into this thing
I’d love to hear full tracks you’ve created with it!
I always thought the R in “metronomé” was silent.
I would really like to see digitone sequencing another synth (especially a Moog). Great videos by the way!
What would we love to see the Digitone do? I'd love to see the Digitone skydiving. I'm a little worried it may not take to the parachute, though.
I made a few of these to play in between songs in my band's set. The problem is- after I make one, I don't want to keep working. Just wanna listen to the digital squishiness. Great video.
Yeah I'm the same honestly. Just let it run and make tiny changes here and there.
Big Love 🤠🙏
I would like to see a eurorack setup playing kindly with the digitone. I interface my rack with drums, I would like the digitone to meet my chordal polyphony needs and I would love to see the two communicate via midi. I don't have a midi interface in Euro yet but that's easy to manage.
Also... Dub Techno.... 🤤
Hoi there. I like me some elektron digitony
beautiful!! wish i had a digitonE
now I wanna go watch joe pera
I would really like to see how the digitone can be pushed to some really complex, evolving sound design
You could add some more "randomness" in a few different ways; Setting trig conditions to only play the note once with a length of infinite, OR setting the trigs so they don't all hit at the same time, and setting the track lengths on each track to be different (so track 1 at 55 steps, track 2 at 60, etc), along with changing the track speeds to very slow.
