Came out great , I use the same method for wrinkle coat . Heat gun always works. Another top tip is cut the wires off of an old set of plug wires and that way you don't paint around/in the holes .
The hotter the part the better the wrinkles. Before I sprayed I baked it at 350 for 45 mins-1 hr. Spray it with a solid even coat. And repeated the bake process and it looks damn near as good as if Honda done it at the factory.
I'm wondering if there is a way to overlay a darker flat red paint while this paint is still wet, and get the darker red color? I kind of want to try it.
Just got some Resto Tuner goodies for my CR-V. Getting closer to being fully restored. Soon I’ll 5 Spd swap it just trying to decide if I go N/A with Trumpets or mild boost SC/Turbo. Excited to build the B20z
What's up my Texas Rd1 brother, I'm in the DFW area and I'm a huge CRV fanatic I've got a fully built B20 VTEC 5-speed CRV and I've got another five-speed CRV that's about to get a G23 build, hopefully you're in the north Texas area I love meeting other Honda fans that appreciate the CRV gang gang😎🤙🤙
Clean up all the areas you don't want paint on prior to painting. Then CAREFULLY cover those areas with a thin smear of grease. Then paint. When the paint is dry, gently scrape all the paint from the areas covered with grease.

*PRO TIP* use chapstick on the letters before painting it will come off like butter with the scrape of razor blade. Valve cover looks great!
Do you have a certain brand in mind that you use?
@@raimondnu3 anything wax based works well no particular brand

Nothing more satisfying then putting a new wrinkle red valve cover on a Honda engine...
Those lightbulbs are badass 💯👍🏾
I cannot believe the result you got. Mine I tried twice but the vht is so thin I runs like crazy. Despite trying super light coats it keeps tripping.
Great info as always, my B16 VC will get the wrinkle blue VHT now that I know its available.
Turned out awesome . Love the wrinkle finish .
She loookin cleaaaaaan!!
I use the oven method and it works very well for me
Even if it's not the darker Type R red it pops out really nice. Hopefully I can do the same to mine whenever I get to it 🔥🔥🔥

What dremel head did you use for sanding the DOHC VTEC letters
You did your thang with this one champ
i tried this with a d16 and it doesn’t work, when i try to paint it it combusts spontaneously, any tips?
Hi Mark. Are these Headlights made in the US?
No. They are JDM DA9 headlights. There are one piece oppose to the normal ones. -Made only in Japan
U never masked the gromet seals they will leak in time from the paint left on them
Looking wrinkly bro!
Don’t look that great inside the bay but the paint came out perfect
Those headlights fit on ef's?
Nice, but should've taken a bit more time to hand-sand it.
