@@LegosRock223 I be honest, having Xenoglossy AND Ice Paradox was quite overwhelming for me because for an optimal Rotation, you WANT to use only 1 of them, so I'm not that sad it is gone
@@larsbohmer6319 there isn't really an optimal and it was all situational - of course, now there's an optimal, because if these changes go through the entire class will be on rails

Heck yeah. Trying to throw Req right after grouping up dungeon packs, only to find your target in the center is too far away is a pain
I looooove that the viper uses repeated naming to make it clear which skill to use. Organizing my hot bar will be a breeze

Yeah thats something they did with Reaper too, went from eyes spinning watching the media tour to "Oh thats actually REALY easy lol". Really helps the mental symmetry
woops talking about DOT stacking on Sage in DT, and not to be all "back in my day...", but, back in my day playing WHM and SCH in HW and StB, DOT stacking was like, the standard.
WHM having Aero 2 + 3 and SCH with Miasma + Bio in a 1-2 punch was just how it was, SCH even had like 4 or 5 separate DOTS it could slap on at any given time (and could spread them all w/ Bane) and i loved it. Then ShB came around and squenix was like "we can't go having healers have more than two or three damage buttons, their poor little brains couldn't possibly handle it" and all healers' damage options got gutted.
And sure maybe the potencies were all adjusted to make it even out but I genuinely miss being a goofy ass DOT-master healer, pianoing between all its DOTs and still trying to be a good healer tickled my brain in a way i really liked, then ShB just made SCH into a sleepwalking Broil bot and it really killed a lot of my love for the job. I still play a bit of SCH every now and again today, but man, I will die on the hill of StB SCH being my favorite iteration of the job, even if squenix thinks my brain was too small for it.
point i'm trying to make is, woops being like "two DOTs from one healer on one target seems so crazy and interesting" and i'm over here like the meme of Wolverine laying on a bed looking at a picture but it's me looking at a picture of StB SCH like "yeah stacking multiple DOTs on a target as a healer sure would be interesting, wouldn't it..."
Meanwhile HW summoner over here using 4 dots.
What Sage has is basically identical to what Scholar had to do with Miasma II as well. It was a point-blank AoE with a DoT that had a total potency higher than Ruin at the time (mostly because Ruin was a very weak spell since SCH was reliant on DoTs for damage), so you wanted to be sticking close to the boss to keep it up when possible. So having both a ranged and "melee" DoT as a healer isn't a new thing either, and SGE has more mobility than old SCH did, so I don't see it being a big problem.
Geez these tank defenses are insane. They must be planning to smack us _really_ hard.
dungeons and trials gonna stay hitting like wet toilet paper if the footage so far is anything to go by
We thought same for ShB but all normal content became braindead after Stormblood
They did the same thing from STB to Shadowbringers. Then Shadowbringers to EW. In EW, the only time the 4s duration thing ever mattered was in TOP P6. It has never mattered, even in w1 savage. Like yes, it's still good to time it, but it's not mandatory outside of Wave Cannons and 2nd cosmos dive in TOP. In some comps, though, ive seen a tank mess up their 25s and still live wave cannon. Unless they make every aoe/buster in savage super punishing like p6 TOP, nothing is gonna really change. (I should also say, harrowing hell in p10s W1 should be more common with all the massive mit changes in 7.0)

@@TheVivi13 Except they changed it in the best way possible. Removing Huton means no more annoying pre-pull shennanigans, removes the awful feeling lv50 combat where you waste a mudra every 60seconds for buff upkeep and makes burst feel worse. Removes a mudra being a buff that you use.. once. Removes the useless huraijin button that you only used if you f*ed up the huton upkeep. And overall just makes the job feel way way better. AOE Trick attack will make aoe packs more enjoyable with more buttons. And much more. Honestly the Ninja changes are better than what I could have come up with, hats off to SE.
@@trignite I meant drastically changing the class. The changes to ninja always just polish it even more without changing how it works at its core.
I think Ninja is one of the few jobs with a solid identity so it didn't need much tbh. Very happy with that honestly
I'm still really nerdy/hyped for Picto using the RGB + CMY[K] color spectrums in its Job logic/identity to convey the light+color categorization of the Mages. So, so cool 🌈✨
I was scared to see what would happen to dragoon but now I am hyped for how it turned out and excited to jump into dawntrail it launches

As a Machinist/Dragoon main, this expansion makes me very very very happy. Life Surge can go pound sound though.

Commenting before I finish the video but yes I do love the dots stacking for SGE. At least one of the healers should have 2 (permanent) dots imo, just for variety's sake. I am sure they are aware they went a bit overboard with healer simplification in the last 2 expansions.
The dot stacking on Sage is like Scholar back in the day with Bio/Miasma and Miasma 2! Miasma 2 was an aoe based on the character and most of the time it was used to keep up but also movement so maybe SE are bringing back that playstyle with Sage which is kinda cool but also sad at the same time LOL I miss that so much on Scholar
Bio, Bio II, Miasma, Miasma II, Aero, Shadow Flare, and iirc Thunder too, but only if you swapped your cross class skills after casting Protect/stoneskin.
Paladin Intervene is still level 72, and to add insult to injury the new DRK and GNB gapclosers are acquired at the low 50s
I don't see any problem with that, every 123 string performed rewards you with an instant Holy Spirit that you can utilize while you disengage from the enemy, not to mention PLD's magic phase giving you up to 10 seconds of ranged, high damage attacks. Now with upgraded Requiescat having 25 yalms cast range PLD gets even more comfortable maintaining its rotation while doing a mechanic at range.

Am i the only one not looking forward to this? XD well im not gonna rain on everyone parade, but im probably staying with Scholar after all so ill probably play Sage more casually cause balancing 2 dots now specially one that i thought would be AoE only isnt really a cup of tea for me.
@@gabrielfurtado2171 we have been begging for DoTs back on SCH since they took them away from us, so yes yes you are in the minority.
Just sad they put the DoTs on SGE instead but I 'll take what I can.
I think that the funny thing about pictomancer is that, if you turn on party spell effects, you can look over to your picto teammate and know what they're doing if they're painting a bunch of motifs.

As a Healer main, I'm ssssooooo beyond happy that we're getting some more damage abilities on Astro, White Mage, and Scholar. I'm just hoping that things, actually hurt Tanks in casual content this time around. Lvl 90 dungeons with even an undergeared Warrior have been a little boring.

it's essentially a Dark Emissary but placed as the final skill of the job.

You can see they were pretty much new and cleared it without a healer so... I think I'm just going to play as a DPS this expansion. :/

Don't normally leave comments, but coming here from the stream at your request! Been looking forward to this since media tour was announced, and I suppose since the EW one - your overviews are right to the point, and show your excellent grasp of basically every job in the game with how you give insight on how the new buttons fit into the flow of rotations. Your enthusiasm for the game is always a treat, especially when I was feeling a bit doomer about some of the leaked changes. Woke up to see the media embargo lifted, and this was the first place I went to look at the new stuff - if no one else got me I know woops (and jill!) got me. Keep up the good work!

I mainly play Tank so I'm loving the improvements to damage mitigation but Machinist just becoming Gundam Heavyarms is so cool too.

First off really liked the switching of Woops and Jill for each of their input for their expertise; Honestly need to get my hands on many of the jobs to get the new feel for them but Picto looks incredible finally a caster that has a good amount of movement while having more casting going on and things to work on.

Viper looks super fun so i'm probably running MSQ with it and making it my main melee, replacing reaper. GNB is my main tank and looks flashier and more fun than ever. SGE is my main healer and that DoT stacking definitely does sound interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing how it feels to actually maintain but you're right in saying that it's about to get interesting. I'm excited. RDM is my main caster and that moulinet change has been needed for so long. Needing 60 gauge for it was always so weird feeling. The changes and new additions all look interesting and there's some good QoL so it all looks great. gonna take time to learn the new rotation and flow for it. MCH has been my main phys ranged job but if I'm being honest I never put much time into phys ranged past leveling. This might change in the future though with how cool the new MCH stuff looks. I need this expansion in my hands RIGHT NOW. Everything looks so cool and I'm super excited.

Ahhhh I can't wait for Dawntrail!! I wanna play everything right now TwT I had stopped played Astro to favour White Mage as my healer of choice, but this makes me excited to go back. And as a Monk main, I'm always ready to try what they throw at me so very very excited to see how these changes feel.
Every expansion I cross my fingers that Woops gets to go to the media tour since his recap is always the most concise and cohesive for me to consume. Really enjoyed this all being one video and also getting to hear Jill's expertise too!! The humor in this video was great too LOL. LOVED the editing of the dungeon too between the trust and real party. Thank you for the excellent coverage!!! Appreciate the work you both do.

I only recently bought the game and I do not understa'd any of the technical terms but watching the super cool animations is enough for me to be hyped x)
I was super to hear that bard first, can finally use songs while not targeting, but mainly second, Shadowshot and refulgent arrow now proc with a combined buff. I've been waiting for that change for so long
I'm curious if that means the meta will be to wait 2 minutes for BRD to rotate through all of it's songs for the coda bonus pre-pull.
@franklinturtleton6525 can't use songs outside of combat, so that's a dud. From the DNC and NIN changes, it's clear that they want to move past a lot of prepull shenanigans that have become standard over time.
If sage keeps the stacking dot going live it will be my most hype healer because then it keeps the promise yoshi p said about sage being the healer that caters to the people who miss the more old school style healer,
Otherwise I'm hype for the healers in general. and surprisingly Pictomancer.
i am PRAYING for the dots stacking to stay in the final release, it seems like so much fun.

As a MNK main, i went nuts over the new added effects for the riddles and im so curious over the rotations. Im excited for MNK in DT 😊
New acceleration for redmage is awesome, no more double weaving and no more swift cast during the opener. We are even speedier now with a bunch of instant cast GCDs to weave our new oGCDs.

Viper having some positionals and buffs that remind me of old mnk fist of fire and fist of wind somewhat is just really funny to me (long time mnk main).

Dude, all the Job changes look awesome. I'm excited to play them all, a feeling I didn't have during Endwalker. While I love Endwalker, I'm so ready and ecstatic for Dawntrail.
This might be my favourite Media Tour video - and I haven't even watched all of it yet! Good and succinct mix of facts, clearly showing off the new stuff/changes and opinions.
I also think it's great you let Jill take over for the tank and BLM section, not every FF14 YTuber would be this easy about admitting they might not know everything about the game.
I do find it kinda funny that woops' interest for DoT2: Electric Boogaloo is because positioning could be weird with it being melee ranged but like. I already have to plan around positioning at melee ranged during burst window so i cast phlegma. So now I basically just get to hover a lil closer to the bosses than i already did so i can do DoT uptime :D
I'm a brand new tank main as of the last tier of EW and have done some ultimates on them now. I'm so excited to play this upcoming DRK iteration. I love this so far
I really found funny and cool the references on machinist with the voice on the "FULL METAL ... " spells
I mained Scholar back in HW and seeing a return of DoT stacking warms my cold, Miasma 2-less heart
When i see dragoon kept its 1 minute life window im happy best part of the job is constant red mode every minute so happy to see it. Looks like the job got a lot of quality of life rather then the big overhaul people were fearing which is fantastic .

I'm most excited for the 1 thing the videos seem to miss out and I'm hoping I am seeing it correctly but upgraded req has 25y range, that's the biggest upgrade I could ask for and you wouldn't realise it's needed unless you play PLD all the time and realise certain fights are arkward for burst phases happening at bad times, mostly fights like DSR during double dragon on an away first.
The Eudaimonia new sage spell's aoe kardia not only procs from damage spells like kardia, but all spells.
Sage double dotting and the ogcd gonna be so fun dps wise
I dont think theres gonna be any major differences dot stacking on 1 boss if the pot is so low. However dotting mobs as you go and then throwing out the aoe dot as tank is set will be delicious
what is reaper pre 70s looks like. did they fix the massive kit problem it has early game? or is it still the same?
Machinist with a pocket Ninja here. I love the new mch updates and animation overhaul on the burst. Same with nin, but I was really hoping that the new spinny attack would replace bava completely rather than be locked behind mug
I was dead-set on Viper, but I have to say Picto looks like a TON of fun. MCH and MNK have been my long-standing main Jobs and I'm sorely tempted to just stick to one of them, I love what I'm seeing for both. Tough choices to be made for MSQ!

PIC just looks like it has so much going for it and BLM is really about to be on FIRE.

DOT STACKING AYYYYYYYY. i am soooo excited for the new sage changes. the dot stacking has me most excited but the party-wide kardia sounds SO fun i can't wait tbh. as a rdm main i am intrigued by this change - so you only get the new big burst ability during your 2-minute it seems? which is a bit disappointing but understandable enough. it'll be interesting to see how the new impact button fits neatly into the rotation for sure, time to play around with it
Years ago I found your channel due to that period of time where you played FNF and Beat Saber semi regularly.
When you went back to focusing on FFXIV content I stopped watching, purely cause I thought I would never play the game. That was until a few days ago, when I tried the game on a whim. I am in love with it, have already found a group I enjoy playing with in the streets of limsa, and cannot wait for the servers to come back up… even if i’ll be stuck in queue hell.
Koji in the background going RAUGHRURRURRRR every few minutes got really funny to me.
ok that follow up on communio in addition to the changes makes me realize i was a bit too harsh on reaper. another two years reaping, here i come. dark knight and black mage as well!

I LOVE the new text telegraph indicator during bosses. I hope they use this a ton for raids and this is one of the biggest QoL changes I've been asking for.

The "aoe kardia" ability says "When landing a spell" so are we sure it only works with DPS like current Kardia?
Part two of the question: Does KARDIA still only work with DPS spells?
Yes, of course it only works on DPS spells.
