The California that my grandparents helped build, all of whom moved there during the depression, no longer exists. My Mom and Dad both grew up, worked and raised a family there. Very sad. I left in 1987 and never looked back.

I would like to know where the fires are coming from. Example. In one city, the fire started in 3 different places at the same time. They are across town from each other. The companies basically said Hell No, and people were NOT covered when this fire happened. So, the Millionaires will have enough to rebuild, because they're basically self-insured, as in, they can pay for it out of pocket, but anyone normal (and there were a LOT of those people in these areas) or actually retired or poor, will likely have to move out and won't be rebuilding.
For those who might say that these past policies were to protect wildlife, well then, has anyone done a rough estimate of how many creatures of the forest area have perished in the fires? Putting aside the 250,000 people who are not just homeless, but have lost EVERYTHING, would using common sense and well established methods of fire breaks, controlled burns, better water management cause less or more loss of wildlife? There are not many people to listen to who have brains, common sense and humility. Victor Davis Hansen is one of them. I'm 65 years old and was lucky enough to have a local/area newspaper that printed Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams on the op/ed pages when I was young. Victor Davis is on my short list with those two gentlemen. RIP Walter.

You need to explore the Firefighters unions complicity in this. Nobody talks about it, but the unions prevent the guys from cleaning the floor. That’s a fact, I know someone who tried to work with that due to shock and awe of their behavior and he was cancelled.
Australian firefighters are trained to fight fires with portable water pumps-to use water from swimming pools etc
We would have had plenty of water at the fire's onset if the reservoir wasn't completely dry.

Born and lived in So.California for 65 years...left two years ago. I believe the voting has been rigged for 20 years. When Newsom got in for another term, I said I'm out. I was just back there last week after the Altadena fire. The state is in meltdown phase...so very sad. It's the most beautiful landscape in the country, but I believe the state is being intentionally destroyed. Feel grateful to be out, but it will always be my home. 😢

I would like to know where the fires are coming from. Example. In one city, the fire started in 3 different places at the same time. They are across town from each other. That is not natural, and the other fires are NOT spitting at that city to start 3 fires at the same time. SOMETHING OR SOMEONE IS BEHIND THIS FOR A REASON.

@@richardenders6606 Insurance companies looked at the risks, and state law mandating coverage rates, even if the amount they would have to pay out was MUCH higher, and a whole lot of them refused to cover people. The companies basically said Hell No, and people were NOT covered when this fire happened. So, the Millionaires will have enough to rebuild, because they're basically self-insured, as in, they can pay for it out of pocket, but anyone normal (and there were a LOT of those people in these areas) or actually retired or poor, will likely have to move out and won't be rebuilding.

For those who might say that these past policies were to protect wildlife, well then, has anyone done a rough estimate of how many creatures of the forest area have perished in the fires? Putting aside the 250,000 people who are not just homeless, but have lost EVERYTHING, would using common sense and well established methods of fire breaks, controlled burns, better water management cause less or more loss of wildlife? Seems like a pretty simple exercise to figure out that, as opposed to out of control wildfires, fire mitigation causes FAR less less wildlife impact AND protects the population.

I’m afraid this is it for CA. I lived there for 47 years and have retired to New England. Life is good here❤I left for the very reasons that are still going on. I was born and raised in the Saddleback Mountains, which is so bucolic and charming, comparatively speaking. We finally left on Christmas Day, 2021, because I was tired of the winds, the dry, crunchy hills, and Edison turning off our electricity every time the winds hit. Which is a LOT. I can not tell you how OVERJOYED I am to no longer live in CA!! I do not miss it one bit!! I refused to pay taxes to these idiots who plan evil all day long. They always win, no matter how we all voted! When does everyone say, "ENOUGH! I'm out of here!" Vote with your feet and leave! Before you lose everything!
