Just saw it so you don't have to. Don't waste your time and money. The ending fell flat on its face. "The killer gets caught and arrested at the end"? Really? More mass appeal, good-guy-wins-bad-guy-loses feel-good by-the-numbers saccharine-sweet crap? Incredibly disappointing from M. Night Shyamalan. For a director renowned for his clever twist endings, he didn't exactly bring his A-game here. I could easily write at least two different endings that would have played far better: one where the Butcher is part of the "supers" introduced in Glass (e.g. his psychopathy is a hidden psychological superpower perfectly adapted for predating on modern man), and one where his story is separate from that timeline. Either way, M. Night Shyamalan got paid far too much to churn out a morality tale doing its best to pose as a thriller.
