Warner Bros. Pictures presents a new experience in the world of M. Night Shayamalan-“Trap” -featuring performances by rising music star Saleka Shyamalan.
A father and teen daughter attend a pop concert, where they realize they’re at the center of a dark and sinister event.
Written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, “Trap” stars Josh Hartnett, Ariel Donoghue, Saleka Shyamalan, Hayley Mills and Allison Pill. The film is produced by Ashwin Rajan, Marc Bienstock and M. Night Shyamalan. The executive producer is Steven Schneider.
The director of photography is Sayombhu Mukdeeprom (“Call Me by Your Name”). The production designer is Debbie de Villa (“The Hating Game”). It is edited by Noëmi Preiswerk and the music is by Herdĭs Stefănsdŏttir (“Knock at the Cabin”). The music supervisor is Susan Jacobs (“Old”); the costume designer is Caroline Duncan (“Old”). The casting is by Douglas Aibel (“Asteroid City”).

Giving me major Dexter vibes. The serial killer being the main protagonist but by nature an antagonist. Loyal to his family and shows real compassion for his children. It's a bad guy but you end up rooting for him. Very interested to watch this

Hartnett been working independent/art house films for 20+ years. Flies under the radar and out of limelight, just as he always wanted to do. He has some outstanding performances racked up. Well liked in the industry by directors and other actors. Multimillionaire living low key life in England countryside with wife and 4 kids. Contentment looks soooo good on him, gawd the guy is still hot😂
Josh Harnett might be the greatest leading man in horror, dude has aged well, hasn’t had a single controversy and still has that same Hartnett charm

The actor who plays the kid in 6th sense is back active. And it would just make sense seeing that his most known films have the supernatural element. And the trailer made sure to say "in the world or M. knight..." Which says it's in the world of unbreakable, split, and glass. It just makes sense

I seen a clip from online that this movie may be in the same universe as his movie " the sixth sense " where Cole is working with law enforcement & a ghost and the ghost told him where to catch his/hers killer . Even if the movie doesn't go this route it's still brilliant 🥰

Who else would know that he is the butcher and could for sure make sure he is going to be there.
I think the entire trap is set by his daughter once she finds out who he is and what he’s been doing.
In the show Prodigal Son that happens. The main character's dad is a famous killer and as a kid he discovered a girl in the basement and called the cops. His dad had been drugging him so he would forget that he saw her
Except that wouldn't be the sort of twist we'd expect from an MNS film.
That's my prediction
In my opinion...the kid (now adult) from The Sixth Sense is working with the police to set the trap because some ghost needed help finding peace after being murdered by The Butcher... but they only have a little bit of info to go off of. And/or the daughter set the trap or is The Butcher.

I’m so happy M. Night Shyamalan hasn’t given up on filmmaking. His recent work hasn’t been the greatest. Split and Knock on the cabin were good. Old was bad, because it wasn’t explored well enough and the twist was bad. But after seeing this, I’m excited for it. This looks like best thing Shyamalan has done in a while.

He’s been getting roles for 20+ years! Great independent films with terrific performances. He’s very picky and greatly admired by directors and other actors for the interesting choices he’s made. Rejected Hollywood hunkdom for artistic integrity. Pretty bold for a kid of 22 😊

I really appreciate when the trailer gives the plot twist away. Really makes you enjoy the movie more when you know what’s going to happen for the first 30 minutes.
If he showed this in the trailer then that’s just the plot of the movie not a twist. And with it being M Nights movie expect another twist

I don't understand it. If I was a filmmaker, an actor or a reality TV person, I'd want to make sure all my productions were added, yet clearly professionals aren't bothered.
A few months ago most of my time was spent adding and updating films and profiles of people who attended the Manchester Art School, mainly because a Bradford-born actor (and recent filmmaker) had starred in a lot of those films, and attended the university himself.
A couple of months ago I spent most of my time adding and updating films and profiles people in Detroit. I can't remember why, but it was no doubt due to the duplicate profiles I always find when adding or updating a title.
Early this month I spent most of my time adding and updating films and profiles of by people from Liverpool (mainly by 2 men, one of which had his credits spread over around 6 profiles), who now mainly seem to be in London, largely because I kept finding duplicate profiles as usual.
And this month I've been adding and updating films by people from all over the world, who attended the London Film School, again because I keep finding duplicate profiles.
Obviously I've added and updated some Yorkshire filmed films, TV shows, shorts etc in between (most of which I've forgotten already), but nowhere near as many as I'd want to.
I've got around 50 tabs open of film related things I've started but haven't finished yet, just like I always do, which just shows how side-tracked I get.

Shyamalan is such a hit or miss director, you never know what you're gonna get. How did the same director of The Sixth Sense, also make The Happening? Anyway, this certainly looks like a hit (then again, I said the same thing about Glass).

The act they come to see is called 'Lady Raven' and Ravens in stories often act as psychopomps, connecting the material world with the world of spirits.

Josh Hartnett has said he’s picky about the roles he chooses, and I gotta say that like seeing Matt Damon as Bourne, I was surprisingly impressed by Hartnett’s non rom-commy work…..so that’s what makes me think this will be a movie worth watching in theaters. The trailer itself is cut well!
Actual twist at the end:
1) His daughter was the killer all along and he is just trying to protect her (with or without her knowing)
2) He was being blackmailed into getting victims for the killer, but isn't the killer himself and knows that he is being set up by the killer to take the fall in front of the whole world
3) He is a vampire (and so is his daughter, maybe)
4) He is the killer but the cops are actually after the wrong guy until he outs himself by accident
