Warner Bros. Pictures presents a new experience in the world of M. Night Shyamalan-“Trap” -featuring performances by rising music star Saleka Shyamalan.
A father and teen daughter attend a pop concert, where they realize they’re at the center of a dark and sinister event.
Written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, “Trap” stars Josh Hartnett, Ariel Donoghue, Saleka Shyamalan, Hayley Mills and Allison Pill. The film is produced by Ashwin Rajan, Marc Bienstock and M. Night Shyamalan. The executive producer is Steven Schneider.
The director of photography is Sayombhu Mukdeeprom (“Call Me by Your Name”). The production designer is Debbie de Villa (“The Hating Game”). It is edited by Noëmi Preiswerk and the music is by Herdĭs Stefănsdŏttir (“Knock at the Cabin”). The music supervisor is Susan Jacobs (“Old”); the costume designer is Caroline Duncan (“Old”). The casting is by Douglas Aibel (“Asteroid City”).

Everyone expecting M night to do his usual M.O at the end of the movie and he goes and switches it up to give us the twist at the start!

Giving me major Dexter vibes. The serial killer being the main protagonist but by nature an antagonist. Loyal to his family and shows real compassion for his children. It's a bad guy but you end up rooting for him. Very interested to watch this

Hartnett been working independent/art house films for 20+ years. Flies under the radar and out of limelight, just as he always wanted to do. He has some outstanding performances racked up. Well liked in the industry by directors and other actors. Multimillionaire living low key life in England countryside with wife and 4 kids. Contentment looks soooo good on him, gawd the guy is still hot😂

The actor who plays the kid in 6th sense is back active. And it would just make sense seeing that his most known films have the supernatural element. And the trailer made sure to say "in the world or M. knight..." Which says it's in the world of unbreakable, split, and glass. It just makes sense

I think the entire trap is set by his daughter once she finds out who he is and what he’s been doing.
In the show Prodigal Son that happens. The main character's dad is a famous killer and as a kid he discovered a girl in the basement and called the cops. His dad had been drugging him so he would forget that he saw her

In my opinion...the kid (now adult) from The Sixth Sense is working with the police to set the trap because some ghost needed help finding peace after being murdered by The Butcher... but they only have a little bit of info to go off of. And/or the daughter set the trap or is The Butcher.

m night is the most interesting director in recent years. i dont care that his films dont necessarily rate high. he is smart and knows how to keep the viewer engaged without fluff and gore.

Let’s not act like the reason this movie exists is for M. Shyamalan is to boosts his daughter’s name in the music industry.
He just produced a decent horror flick for his other daughter… nepotism is annoying; realizing most of us who grow up poor or middle class will always remain so is annoying; but achieving financial success and thus giving your children more opportunities than you had is the prototypical American dream. Better than places like Italy where every single aspect of life is run on nepotism from hundreds of years back and there is no room for anyone or anything new and merit means next to nothing. You can spoil your children at any level of income and we don’t know their character; seems they’re working creatively with their dad. So what.

I’m so happy M. Night Shyamalan hasn’t given up on filmmaking. His recent work hasn’t been the greatest. Split and Knock on the cabin were good. Old was bad, because it wasn’t explored well enough and the twist was bad. But after seeing this, I’m excited for it. This looks like best thing Shyamalan has done in a while.

Went to Era tours recently and this made me sad. I wish I had someone to take me to the concert. The daughter said this is literally the best day of my life and then it revealed her dad is the killer on live-streaming network. Her life would literally be insane after that.

My faith in M Night is at rock bottom at this point. Going from The Sixth Sense (one of the best movies ever made not to mention in the horror film) to making a 5/10 movies at best time after time ever since.

I don't understand it. If I was a filmmaker, an actor or a reality TV person, I'd want to make sure all my productions were added, yet clearly professionals aren't bothered.
A few months ago most of my time was spent adding and updating films and profiles of people who attended the Manchester Art School, mainly because a Bradford-born actor (and recent filmmaker) had starred in a lot of those films, and attended the university himself.
A couple of months ago I spent most of my time adding and updating films and profiles people in Detroit. I can't remember why, but it was no doubt due to the duplicate profiles I always find when adding or updating a title.
Early this month I spent most of my time adding and updating films and profiles of by people from Liverpool (mainly by 2 men, one of which had his credits spread over around 6 profiles), who now mainly seem to be in London, largely because I kept finding duplicate profiles as usual.
And this month I've been adding and updating films by people from all over the world, who attended the London Film School, again because I keep finding duplicate profiles.
Obviously I've added and updated some Yorkshire filmed films, TV shows, shorts etc in between (most of which I've forgotten already), but nowhere near as many as I'd want to.
I've got around 50 tabs open of film related things I've started but haven't finished yet, just like I always do, which just shows how side-tracked I get.
