I love his more mature voice. I believe some people thought or think Elvis voice should stay the way he was in the 50s, & 60s .. He’s like everybody else he was growing older. He just got better with age. My opinion..
Absolutely greatest versions of BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER ❣️❣️. ELVIS@ HIS MAGNIFICENT GLORY SO POWERFUL AND EMOTIONALLY CHARGED PERFORMANCE TO THE VERY END❣️ 2021
Any version of this song is unbelievable. Could, and have, listened over and over again. As Paul Simon said, he probably won't sing it again after hearing Elvis rendition. Love it
Elvis never had voice lessons. He had pure, raw, God given talent and we all are so lucky to have RUclips so people can see and hear his incredible talent. 💕💕💕
Yes….I agree, Elvis’s voice improved as he aged….his technique also improved. He was a gem that’s for sure. He gave everyone their money’s worth at his shows. He obviously was funny too, they were laughing. He made them (and us) happy. He was so incredibly gifted..all around. No wonder we love him so much. And in this case…it is so so true….ELVIS…the GIFT THAT JUST KEEPS GIVING. Elvis will be deeply loved eternally. Rest easy beautiful man 🇨🇦🌹♥️
One can tell when Elvis used to love song. He never gave up on it. He may make changes but never lets it go. All are beautiful in their own way. Oh yes, do we miss him.
There is one version that I really love and I usually don't see people talking about her is the one from the September 1 1974 - Midnight Show, Elvis is so into the song during this performance that he even misses the ending of the song but still ending it great, but then making the reprise of the ending and doing it even better, adding some fantastic vocals in it
ELVIS es ÚNICO E IRREPETIBLE. EL MEJOR CANTANTE DE LA HISTORIA DE LA MÚSICA. ELVIS PRESLEY EL REY POR SIEMPRE!!!!!👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Cualquier canción en LA VOZ DE ELVIS SUENA MARAVILLOSAMENTE!!!!👑🎉😊
Very hard to beat the original but his version , especially from ‘70 is amazing . I actually prefer his and played it for non - Elvis fans ( yeah hard to believe) and they preferred it to
Thanks LEON. !! In 1994 when I was with Elvis world bridge over trouble water was one of my 5 songs I did at the LAX HILTON. AND MY LIVE VERSION WAS FROM A LIVE ELVIS TRACK AND GUESS WHO WAS AT MY RIGHT SIDE OF THE STAGE AND I DIDN'T KNOW SHE WAS THERE - UNTIL LATER KATHY WESTMORLAND AND DICK GROBE WAS THERE ALSO . LATER I TALKED TO KATHY SHE SAID I HEARD MY VOICE ON YOUR SOUND TRACK. ? AND SHE TOLD ME I DID A GOOD JOB TOOK HER BACK TO THE 70s I HAD A GREAT TIME THAT NIGHT .TALKING TO KATHY ABOUT ELVIS. !!!!
What a voice!!! Elvis' interpretation is FANTASTIC. 👏👏👏 I love ALL versions it will ALWAYS be Elvis' song. My eternal favorite FOREVER.Thanks, Leon. 😍💕😍
I can't even begin to describe the excellent quality of your videos, in all aspects. Rare content, detailed information, unique ideas, and unparalleled creativity. The king is alive through creators like yourself.
I couldn’t agree more! I just discovered your channel and your Elvis compilations! They’re just wonderful! Thank you for creating this one too! The songs you’ve chosen to feature are some of my favorites and bring back memories of when Elvis got me through some difficult times in my life! Thank you Leon❤
My love Elvis❤️ and my favorite song 『Bridge Over Troubled Water』 S&G is good too. It's like a song made just for Elvis❤️ Especialty 1970 is the best. The song was great. but I was in good health. I miss Elvis❤️🌹🥰😢🥹
Elvis managed to do BOTW during the 70's with such a power that hardly any live version is bad, I think Leon it would be great if you had the August 31 1971 version on this video since it was the only time Elvis performed BOTW as the last song from the show, but nonetheless, Elvis always took this song to a whole new level compared with any other song from his setlists during the years and this no one can doubt
I've found that one the virtues of this series is that people offer suggestions of other excellent live versions. The 31 August 1971 MS version was one that I considered but plumped for the Boston version because of the soundboard recording and the reprise. As you can see, I always try to include at least one from every year a song was performed and even in 72 there was a dilemma. For example, the 9 June 72 MSG version could have slotted in there instead of Greensboro. That of course is the aim of this series Samuel, to create discussion about Elvis and how the song in question changed through the years, which is better and which others not included merit mention. Thanks for always taking the time to comment pal, and keep them coming.
@@TheUltimateElvisChannelbyLeon sure Leon you're right, after all this series is to show the evolution of a song during the years and not rare, different versions
Absolute perfection. My only Elvis concert was the June 26, 1977 show, and it was ASTOUNDINGLY AMAZING! That performance had me in tears that night as young as I was. I remember every detail of the concert, because it meant the world to me then and of course now. Such a beautiful video. Thank you.

Elvis sang Bridge Over Troubled Water to Priscilla. She had just learned her beloved horse Domino had died. He was trying to comfort her. He loved her so very much. He wanted his family back together again until the day he died. 💔🥺
I have always loved the live version from Elvis on tour and thought it was one of the best until I heard 2 versions that i think are better. The Portland one from 11th Nov 1970 once he stops being silly , and then the 1st September 1974 m/s. hearing Elvis just getting into the song and forgetting where he was at the end, and then blowing the end out of the water with the reprise was wow wow. Yes the song was sang by Art but I always listen to this as a different song cause its not as slow and yes Art version is great but for me Elvis is more powerful and even Paul Simon said how can we complete with that lol.
Thank you Leon for all of them. Acoustics were not great at this last one in 77. But I love it because he put his all in to it. However, I also enjoyed listening to Charlie and Elvis banter.😀
Congratulations 👏 !! I love this too because I feel Elvis meant every word he was singing. That's one reason it's one of my favorites. Thank you my friend 🙏❤
The 4th version is my favorite but I LOVED the humor in versions 2 and 5. Elvis could sing anything and sound fantastic. Thanks for sharing Leon. Just great!!
Having heard all of the versions (thank you very much Leon for doing this ❤️), I feel that yes, the first version of his take on this song in Vegas was polished, but in Greensboro, when he added that soprano on the last verse, he gave this song new life! He made this song his own. When I used to impersonate Elvis, I used the soprano version every time. This is just my humble opinion.
I love Elvis full stop 50’, 60’ and 70’ They were all different but still great! I’m not one of those wishy washy fans i take the rough with the smooth! He was far too important as an artiste to make comparisons I’m all in for every decade! The man to me was so great! Raw Elvis, Polished Elvis and powerful Elvis we are spoilt for choice with him. No other entertainer has shown that much diversity to his fans like he has..he had something for everyone!
This was incredible! It's astonishing how powerful Elvis' voice is and no matter which version you listen to, he does not disappoint. For some reason, I felt like I needed a hug from him after listening. I was overwhelmed.
Version 1. It's not even close. His vocal control, vocal quality and resonance in 1970 was closest to his early 60's voice that was astounding. It's difficult to listen to the other versions in comparison when his voice became more nasal and strained. Regardless, greatest vocalist of all-time much more based on dozens, if not, hundreds of other songs (Surrender, It's Now or Never, Blue Moon, Jailhouse Rock, Please Don't Stop Loving Me, Hurt Live etc).
Very difficult to disagree with a single word of that Mark. However, that is the whole point of this particular series - to help bring out that debate.
Woukd love to hear the last version on all its glory sounds great! To me the best and defining performance is the Greensboro version from April 72! Whilst I love them all, this is my absolute favourite!

It was just down to the strange mood that Elvis was in that night Ludevina. He was just playing about and it resulted in that very unique mashup.
