"Realistic soccer with an international flavor" This about a game with power shots that make super powered spinny balls that make your eyes strech out of your sockets in contact.
@@Danovio , yeah, and there was none of this "Sssss-ahhhh" stuff like modern soccer, excuse me, European football, or footie, has in modern times, either, you bunch of spoiled pansies!
This is literally the soundtrack of my childhood :) I cannot tell you how many times I've played the game. I played it hundreds upon hundreds of hours. Never getting tired of it. It was most probably my favorite NES game. My dear God, how these tunes make me nostalgic..I was 9 years old when I first played it. Today i'm 31.
...and yet you are still an immature, racist, bigoted, and elitist brat that thinks that they are better than everyone else with your username and picture...how ironic.
Memories....I would love to relive the day I first played this game...So long ago...I'm nearly 35 and no system will ever replace the ones that started it all....Love the old ways and remember them.
This game was so realistic that it taught me as a soccer playing kid that it's much easier to make goals if you kill all the players on the other side.
This is totally one of the greatest soundtracks for Nes IMO yet there’s so many others that are great! I don’t remember this game being popular but the soundtrack. Man it’s gone so under appreciated!
Matches 7-9 is my favourite theme of this game! I remember having this on a 3 game cartridge with Super Mario Bros. 1 and Tetris...Played way too much :D
I love how these tracks show you how difficult the teams are. Starting off with Cameroon….music pretty chill and cool. Russia comes in….music picks up a little bit. Time to focus a little more. Mexico comes in….music gets more serious, you know it’s getting tougher. Italy comes in….everyone is on crack and this shit is intense 😂 Germany comes in…..you’re exhausted 😮💨
That even worked on gameboy, which was the only console I've ever had Nintendo World Cup for ;) It was my second Game Boy Game after Tetris and before Super Mario Land and Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins and The Smurfs. xDDDD
it was possible with weaker keepers. you had to stand right above the goal and a few pixels above the keepingline. as he tried to foul you he would kill himself :-D
+grogmaninteractive lol when my cousin and I played against each other that's exactly what we did: hit each other with the ball (and he was far more successful with it than I was)
I used to ask for a long pass, but move elsewhere. Passes outside penalty box area made AI follow you and not the ball, which made the pass result into a laughably easy looking goal :)
I played this game SOOOOO much as a kid with my uncle. Whenever the family was all together for christmas, we'd set up the old NES and pop in World Cup Soccer and do a playthrough as USA. This soundtrack is etched in my memory for ALL time; still excellent.
Album cover says: "Realistic soccer with an international flavor!"... Realistic, right? Hahaha smashing each other completely while shooting a bubble gum looking power rocket straight towards the goalie, catapulting him 60 feet up in the air. Hahaha best game ever though!
Ah, the days when video games were less about money, deadlines, propaganda, graphics and attempts at realism, and more about simple unbridled awesomeness. Super spinny glowy soccer ball of death, how I love you.
I'd argue that that's just the rosy goggles talking. As soon as there was any money to be made in video games, those all entered the equation somewhere, and Pac-Man was a full decade before this. So there's always time to think deeply about video games, and there's always time to set that aside and just play them for the sheer fun of it, too. Nintendo World Cup might still be my favorite soccer/football game I've ever played. The arcade-y special moves and graphically cartoon-y heads sets it apart for me, this game has character!
@@hullaballoon There's no end to the amount of lives caught between their flavor of making it and the expectations they put on themselves. There's nothing out there that you enjoy that someone didn't slave over making correct, testing, sweating, and dreading over. On top of that having a family, trying to find the one, or being lonely, all of those experiences made up the people who created this game. All for the enjoyment of kids whose families didn't see the harm in having a tv and video games around.
Lol Video games from this period were made on deadlines the difference is they didn’t spend years in development or development hell. Not to mention poor graphics is one of the things that caused the crash of 83.
Such a beautiful melody from 4:30 - 5:37 (the part before and after is nice too, but not on the same level IMMFHO). Now I'd like to hear that in something other than 8 bit. :)
Thanks so much for this upload. I got this game a while after I got my Nes (that only came with Super Mario/Duck Hunt bundle) and I played the shit out of it. Awesome memories :)
Never liked sport themed video games, but Nekketsu Series is just soooo fun to play! My personal favorite is the hockey one (mainly because of multiplayer), but this one is a very close second.
Ohh the old days where I played this game with my Bro just to do a special kick and see his team beat the hell up from trying to block it. Too funny how they'd fly around after being hit :D Thanks for postin this man.
such an epic game, I spent hours and hours with beating this game as a kid (around 93-94). Our NES came with 4 controllers and a controller hub, so we could connect all 4 controllers, and play this game 4 player :D Tackle them all, lol

The game gets hard at Mexico, when you can't tackle anymore😭 but now that I'm older I can easyly beat every enemy. I struggled with enemies when I was like 10 but scince I'm 17 (now 18) it's a piece of cake
Arent the last 2 songs from a Drgaon Warrior game? I cannot believe that song is part of this video game. I had it when I was a kid and I remember all of the songs except those 2 and I had Dragon Warrior 1 and 3 on Nes and this sounds just way too familiar...
Y además un golazo que me metí de Francia y que fue compañero me iba a pasar la pelota para meter gol de cabezazo pero la tiró para arriba le hizo sombrerito al arquero y gol 🇨🇵

Great music & game, Cameroon could be beaten around 56-0 running a certain path. 15.20 starts a melody which is quite similar to a one found in a popular song of today
Whenever I see FIFA matches that involve the USA, I always think of the Versus theme when they are playing against someone else. Now with that being said, who wants a much bigger version of this game with every single FIFA soccer team for both men and women for modern video game consoles, PC, and Mac?
Yo aunque he perdido en algunos partidos yo metí un gol con Argentina contra Camerún vine vine mi compañero me dio un pase vine cabezazo y gol gol dice una celebración loca porque nunca en ese videojuego mete un gol un solito gol 🇦🇷
Have to agree on that one though there is one player in the possible lineup you can choose from that has equal strength to the opponents, he´s slow but if you slide them once then tackle you can at least take them out and control the match from there ^^
3:50 here's when tears start dripping down my face 🥲
Top tier NES ost right here
One of the best NES OST ever made. Vs match, and Match 7-9 themes are so sick!

Haha those power forwards never gave you a chance to relax! And pissed of defenders waiting to tackle the shit out of you with complete confidence!
Felipe Higuera Cabello I hated Argentina. They would beat the crap , literally, out of my defenders.
They were a harder opponent than Germany tho
Maybe because Argentina won world cup that year.
Argentina should have been the final match instead of West Germany.

That 15:05 Semi-Finals gets me going!
Still remember the exhaustion at the point of match 10, the sweaty hands and the intensity. Semi finals was so sick....
Como olvidar aquel final épico dónde en el atardecer la pelota estaba sola en medio de la cancha.
