I completely disagree with Crisanta. She was actually one of the hardest even with the parrying The archbishop and our lady of the charred Visage are way easier than the three sisters and even tie piedad And the final boss was freaking easy after I knew how he worked
@clabajea I heavily disagree. I, and it seems like many others, had a tough time with her, and I never really found her predictable. Now it's been a long ass time since I played the game, though, so my memory of my troubles is blurry at best
Btw, I recommend to all of you who haven't played the game yet or consider replaying it to play it with Spanish voices - it adds so much to the atmosphere. The Andalucian Spanish sounds so fitting for the game.
Damn you right! I played this for like an evening, barely got past the first boss and upto the kissing wounds dudes and the whole thing was so on my brains by the time I went to sleep I was having nighmares about this game!! Woke up and uninstalled first thing in the morning.
See, when The Penitent One filled his helmet with the blood of the Warden i thought he was going to do it with every boss, sucks how he didn't because i thought it was interesting why PO did it in the first place
Maybe to pay his respects He took a live in order to get closer to his goal, and soaking in his victims blood will remind him forever of the live he has taken and the guilt that he put upon himself by doing so
I know I'm answering to an old comment, but Penitent one filling the helmet with blood is meant to represent baptism before undertaking pilgrimage full of penance.
Exposito was actually by far the hardest boss for me. I was never brave enough to try the strategy of standing inside of him, and it took me a couple deaths to realize the head isn't the only weak spot. The tail strikes come out of nowhere at high speed and are among the most damaging attacks in the game. On top of all of that, sometimes when he flies across the screen he takes a route that leaves you literally nowhere to dodge and no choice but to stand there taking contact damage. My biggest mistake was that I fought him slowly and carefully which is definitely the exact wrong strategy. On the flip side, Last Son of the Miracle only took me three tries but I got really lucky the third time. It helps that the "down" version of the melee combo (the one that ends with a whirlwind slash) does absolutely stupid damage and you can get it off twice in a row if the platform forms by his head. If you use the prayer that gives bonus attack speed, you can almost get it off three times with good timing and a lot of luck.
For me, his fireballs defied prediction. If he fires one, you get spiked. If he firest three, no spike but you have to dodge three fireball. Trouble was I could never figure out which he was doing so I got spiked all the time. The movements also felt kind of random to me, making it really hard to predict. By far my hardest boss. Though funnily I never died to the baby. Not once.
I actually thought the fire guy was pretty easy after I died twice. Just too much of a pattern for me. But the complaints about him I understand. Esdras was tough for me and the archbishop.
DeMod : Crisanta is the second easiest boss in Blasphemous Me and Mythymoo : W H A T I mean she wasn’t that hard but she still definetly makes you struggle a lot. And she’s my second favorite boss
I actually had a really tough time with her personally, she hardly leaves you any breathing room near the end of the fight and just keeps relentlessly attacking you without end
She was definitely not one of the easier bosses, especially to get hits in on, but she is really easy to avoid taking damage from. The only attacks she was damaging me with was her magic slam wave attack, if I jumped I'd get hit by her and if I didn't parry it then I'd get hit by the wave. That said, I think I beat her on my 3rd try.
I've just finished this game. You and I found the bosses completely different in difficulty! That charred lady one was so hard for me! But that was the second boss I found so maybe thats why
It's interesting how everyone sees it different! Fought against this boss today and did it first try. I thought piedad was much harder than the charred lady
Mazafesio El Madafaka, tengo una idea muy clara sobre el origen de ese nombre. And, come on. “Have Mercy” and “Be Merciful” are used for basically the exact same thing.
Two things: 1) On the Archbishop: There's a Mea Culpa move for the final hit in the 4-piece to be a massive upswing, using that due to the animation (probably a bug) he becomes a joke because every combo becomes a 7 hit (8 if you do the down smash at the top of the rising slash) Effectively shortening the time 2) On Charred Lady: It took me someone on twitter telling me this but YOU CAN CLIMB THE SIDES!!! The running room problem beat my ass (caused me to fail my no-flask run) but the more ya know right? 3) Cristana is bae That is all
Yo this is wild. Piedad above exposito? Exposito was one of the hardest bosses for me because of the totally erratic movement and short windows for damage. Piedad is basically tutorial part 2.
Exactly. And Melquiades was an extremely easy fight.. Like it's one of my favorites because of how fucking cool it was. But it was verrrry easy.. Way easier than Exposito.
I forgot about this game, shit was fantastic. I also forgot about this ranking which was less so. Yeah, melquiades was really easy, quirce was also pretty easy once I learned the moveset. He gives so much time and so many opportunities for damage. The 2 humanoids were some of the hardest ones for me, and hes got them super low.
@@mattmilliken1510 Esdras is an absolute madman. Varied attacks with small time to react (at least if you aim for melee fights as I do) demanding different approaches to avoid them, some of them being able to stunlock you for massive damage. And of course, the eternal danger of being beaten into a lightning, then hit by said lightning, then beaten up again. So far have beaten this game thrice, and this, together with Last Son, has become the hardest boss for me (also helps you are way less geared towards this fight than you can be towards Last Son). Meanwhile Quirce greatly rewards gitting gud at dodges, is vulnerable to those massive L charges, and can be greatly eased with the proper gear.
My personal ranking after a playtrough without using health flasks on bosses: 10: warden of the silent sorrow 9: ten piedad 8: archdeacon 7: quirce 6: our lady charred visage 5: tres augustis 4: esdras 3: crisanta 2: son of the miracle 1: exposito
Yeah Exposito's fight has such a bad combat design imo. The attacks are barely telegraphed and so fast, it's suddenly a RNG game of who can deal more damage faster after so many bosses with clear moves and the second body part in which the boss takes damage makes no sense. Comparing that with the big skeleton or Quirce who had clear moves and hit boxes, Exposito was so frustrating for me...
Am I the only one who suffered the most with Lady of the Charred Visage? At that stage of the game you have so few flasks, health, defences and attack, so every hit counts and sometimes just hitting her can be a living hell with the climbing while dodging stuff just to scratch a few hits hoping she doesnt fuck you while youre up with your reduced dodge options. Also 2nd phase can really melt your ass by comboing lasers so you cant dodge both, ot just making a double massive rain of balls. Exposito got it on first try bulked up as shit, never really understood it. And Esdras, Crisanta, Quirce and Son of the Miracle were hard but enjoyable fights with mechanics open to easy moveset improvements, like learning where to parry or jump, maxing rosary treats or getting the most of that sweet sword thrust.
The greatest thing about this game is how open it is. The first boss I faced was Tres Angustias with only 3 vials and no damage to speak of. Definitely the boss that gave me the most trouble. But on my 2nd playthrough I left them as the 3rd of the first few bosses and they were one of the easiest fights in the game.
The last son of the miracle was one of the easiest bosses for me took 2 attempts only to beat He kinda reminds me of the radiance from hollow knight , of course he is no where as difficult but both of the makes jump over platforms while dodging attacks and hitting the boss except half of lsotm attacks can't even hit you and the other half are easy to dodge unlike radiance and absolute radiance of course
Using fire resistance for both Quirce and the last boss makes things a lot more forgiving. Especially if you are having a hard time dodging the last boss's fire attack. It's quite nice that Quirce gives you the highest fire resistance item in the game after you beat him.
I like how all the statues leading up to Ten Piedad don't have heads, then when you get to him, you see why they don't. Very cool. Best game I've played in a long time. Can't wait for part 2 next year.
You should do some more hollow knight reviews because of you I was introduced to hollow knight and the souls series keep up the good work and the new amazing upload schedule
Crisanta was the hardest boss for me during my playthrough (I probably skipped some of the optional bosses), they have buffed her so much with the latest version of the game. She is no joke and a lot of people will have difficulty beating her.
The good thing about these bosses is that most of them require patience and learning how the mechanics work (and skill, of course), so there were very few times where I died and thought “wow that was bullshit”. Mostly due to recovery times, which in bosses like Quirce getting hit spelled almost certain death as you’d probably get wombo-comboed and there’s nothing you’d be able to do about it. Other than that, I was super hyped when I beat the last boss on my third attempt. Even in my first attempt I thought “ok, this is definitely winnable”. Other bosses like Tres Angustias took me longer than I care to admit, but all in all it was my fault for being greedy or not understanding how to fight the boss. All in all, I had a lot of fun beating Blasphemous and definitely got the “souls-like” vibe, especially after beating a boss and yelling FUCK YEAH. Would definitely recommend to any SoulsSekiroBorne fan out there 🙌
So, here's some of the pronunciation of the bosses names, and translations (i dont speak latin, its just that its so close to portuguese that I can understand some of it) Es-poh-see-toh, X is not pronnounced as ecks, its pronounced as ESS, no clue to translation Ten pee-eh-dad, translating to "Have mercy" Tres An-Goos-tee-ahs, the three anguishes/agonies Quirce is Keer-che, its just a name I think Es-Cree-bar is the name of that pope I rushed through the video to avoid spoilers, and get an idea to what I was about to face design wise, and I just felt I had to do this, so keep up the good shit DeMod, much love
I love Hollow Knight. But I personally enjoy the aesthetic and themes of blasphemous more. I also like the that there are more abilities for the sword, whereas hollow knight didn’t really have to much going on with the nail aside from charms changes/effects. Both fantastic, actually playing hollow knight right now. I hope they sold enough copies to roll out some dlc’s And expand the game more, cause hollow knight is huge and vast with all the DLC’s.
Absolute Chad Lad it’s your opinion but some ppl may like Blasphemous more, I honestly do. The combat feels more satisfying imo, I love the story and plot. I hate how HK fans will just say HK is better in a discussion. Just keep your opinion to yourself when it’s not about HK.
Since your covering this, I’d love to see you cover Castlevania and Metroid. Metroid Prime and Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow have some fantastic boss fights.
He expressed interest (and apparently love) in Metroid during his series review time ( IIRC he found that series very time consuming with relatively low return, both in terms of views and personal satisfaction). We're likely getting those rankings at some time, but more likely than not before some release of the series.
Doctor Whouse I hope we get to see some Metroid boss rankings, but of the two, I think Castlevania might end up being the game he covers in a boss ranking series (and, honestly, it’s the one I want to see more, especially the PS2 games).
@@theDeModcracy I struggled with Quirce much more... But the Last Son is just as hard, but I had all of the sword attack shrines, so I did a lot of damage to his face during the time it was open. The fireball attack tho... Pure bullshit.
Here's a tip for escribar or many other bosses as well: don't "upgrade" your flasks. One rosary bead (the pelican one) makes you immune while you chug flasks and another one gives you projectile attacks when you chug flasks. Equip the mea culpa heart that generates fervor, equip debla of the lights prayer. Equip the marble rosary bead that increases damage as your flasks empty Fight as you normally would but when things go south, go into your own "second boss phase" and start spamming prayers, flasks, ranged attacks and increasing damage....most bosses are done by then.
Wow totally different experience from me.. final boss was like 4th easiest boss IMO The bead that makes you immune during flask consumption is a complete game changer
My ranking from hardest to easiest after my first playthrough: 1. Esdras 2. Our Lady of the Charred Visage 3. Crisanta 4. Last Son of the Miracle 5. Quirce, Returned by the Flames 6. Melquiades 7. Ten Piadad 8. Tres Anguistias 9. Exposito 10. Warden ...But REALLY hard were only the top three bosses in my list. I didn't die once by Quirce, and managed to beat the Tres Angustias drunk in my second try, lol.
The fact that you rank Crisanta so high compared to some of the others ahead of her is just.... Well to put it bluntly, stupid. She has very hard hitting magic and little damage windows making for quite the grueling endurance fight. Currently I'm fighting her to get the "Requiem Æternam" achievement of using no bile flasks and she has put up more that ten times the fight Quirce did. Quirce has very meticulous and predictable moves as Crisanta can be a wildcard, especially with her speed and hit you for about 1/6-1/8 of your health bar (with max upgrades) in an instant with seemingly no warning. Not saying your opinions are wrong but my experience was far different each time I've fought her.
lol, I kinda love how different your ranking always is from my personal one. Crisanta was by far the hardest boss in the entire game for me. And Exposito was my second hardest. xD On the other hand I beat last son on my second try.
@@nath5825 That makes so much sense because I just played it and I can swear her attacks were much quicker in my play through and harder to parry than the video
@@arthurdurham nahhh the 3 enemies that fly that can make you fall down and die. I got every trophy and did every penance in new game plus but that boss fucks me up everytime lol
Out of all the metroidvanias I played, this game has the best bosses imo. From their varied moveset and style, to their progressive difficulty at where they are in the game, they’re all very fun to fight and satisfying to beat. If you’re a Souls fan and haven’t picked up this game yet, pick it up just for the excellent feeling of progression and the bosses. Also I didn’t see anyone else give this tip but GET AND USE THE COMBO WHERE YOU SPIN AT THE END OF YOUR COMBO. If you can make it to the top platform of the final boss and use that it’ll SHRED a good chunk of his health bar, and any other boss if you get it earlier.
I wish the bosses had better death animations tho (relative to how good enemy death animations look). So many of them are just getting scarred and vanishing or lowering off screen.
Mr. Hater shut the fuck up, he said in his opinion, just because you like the game doesn’t mean its better than every other related one, I really liked Hollow Knight, it’s my second favorite game aside from Minecraft. But you shouldn’t say it’s better than a lot of great works of art because different people like different art styles, and gameplay types.
easiest way to beat Melquiades is to unlock the spin attack combo, THAT DOES SO much damage and get's rid of the hands as well this boss was easy compared to lady of the charred visage
Melquiades harder than the Lady and Exposito? SERIOUSLY? Also, Escribar isn't nowhere as hard as Esdras or Quirce at all! Esdras is by far the hardest boss in the entire game!
Listen. Its always the same. Souls games are like that. Every player has his own difficulty based on his/her skill. I didn't have problem with most of the bosses, but my list would be a lot different than his. He also has a playstyle that he applies to all of the games, while I keep switching it as game demands from me.
While I agree that Crisandra is a bottom of the list boss, I would have flipped ten piedad with melquaidas, I found him incredibly easy. Also, I actually would have put Holiness Pablo Escribar down at the bottom. Totally smoked him so badly that I thought there might be a 3rd form when I went back to get the true ending. Both encounters I had with him took me 2 tries to fell him. Admittedly his RNG can make things harder. Get an encounters where he doesn't bust out the fireballs and he is 10 times easier. I would actually Put Esdras at the top. For me, he tooks the longest time to defeat and had the most punishing attacks outside of Quirce's stunlocks.
I don’t know whats going on with you but the baby is one of the hardest bosses and crisanta is also so much harder than the skeleton chair dude Also flying head and quirce are EXTREMELY easy.
@@cloudy772 I beat him on my third try but i still don't think its an easy boss! It's just that i was a bit more cautious on my third play because that flame tornado attack killed me by hitting me four times in a row without giving me a chance to escape the second, third and fourth hits! I never died to our lady of the charred visage(flying head) so i think its somewhat easy, and i think crisanta is very hard because you can only parry one attack and sometimes she is left too far away for the riposte to hit! Her second sword attack is annoying tbh! For a while i constantly got hit by that! Baby is tough but i killed him in 4 tries! The one i had problems with the most is those three assholes in the lava floor room! And that mostly because of that bullshit mechanic that if you get hit while you are on the wall, you fall and die! There's no escape! I died to them at least 20 times! Even the final boss took me 8 tries!
nicecoat5004 I beat tres augustines in 2-3 goes and I thought it was on the easier side of bosses. I would have beaten it earlier if I knew that you were supposed to hit the giant one and not wait for it to be over. What seemed interesting to me is the fact you mentioned the wall. As I only used the wall like twice in the entire boss fight. You know you can just jump up to the platforms right?
@@cloudy772 There is one time where you have to use the wall to get to the upper platform! That was what i'm talking about! When i get hit while i'm on the wall, i get disconnected from it and can never connect again no matter how much i spam K (attack button)
I find this kinda funny, because the Warden, Quirce, and Escribar+Last Son of the Miracle are the only bosses I beat on my first try. In fact, Last Son was my easiest boss, not including the Warden. The only thing that bothered me were the fireballs, but he only used them once. I can definitely see why some would find him hard, but in my experience, he was a cakewalk. Even Exposito was harder for me, and I was also dumb enough to get grabbed by the baby.
Esdras was by far the hardest boss for me. It took me like 8 or 10 tries. Our lady of the charred visage was also frustrating. But Quirce and the final boss both didn't take me that many tries. I don't know if that was your game play, but it looked like your weren't using all the air combat at your disposal. When in the air and holding down and attacking, you bounce for up to 2 strikes. Made the final boss a little bit easier.
Hearing your playthrough times and attempt numbers on the bosses just makes me realize that, despite being a complete no life playing games all the time I still suck at them big time
I'm surprised everyone had so much trouble with Exposito. If you use the prayer that creates spinning orbs around you with the mea kulpa that increases its recovery speed you can inflict so much damage he goes down quickly. I didn't even know that the body was a weak spot and I just slashed the head but I guess the prayer kept hitting it. I had most trouble with Visage bc it took me a bit to figure out how to dodge the bullet hell parts.
Other than the last boss, Quirce for me was the most difficult because of how quick he was. I was lucky to fight him last before going to the end or I would have needed to search more +HP swords. Overall the bosses aren't all that difficult, they're challenging yes, but once you understand the mechanics and the patterns they become more manageable
@@richardjared960 beating the last boss for me was pure luck because he didn't use the fireballs until the very end so I could ignore them and keep attacking. other than the fireballs I think every other attacks is not so bad
@theDeModcracy I just finished this last night so I'll give my two cents. 1. Crisanta, Quirce and Charred Lady were the hardest. I just couldn't figure out their patterns or timing so it took me about 7 tries. Once you get the momentum it's easier 2. Exposito and the final boss, His Holiness Escribar/Last son of the Miracle were the easiest to me. The giant baby you can easily beat first time around if you just keep dashing and the final boss if you can use the final prayer (it shoots a beam of light down forgot the name) and keep slashing at the face you'll beat him. All the other ones in between were just right I'd say All in all I actually give it a 10/10. Haven't been challenged like that since I was a kid. Hoping for a sequel
I'm spanish and I have to say it's funny how english speakers pronounce "Ten Piedad". Fun fact: it actually means "Have mercy" as in "God have mercy on us"
Hey, is there a possibility that you maybe do boss ranking of these games? -astral chain -unworthy -lucah: born of a dream One is a 2d souls like, another is pseudo souls like and the other is a game of platinum games
My experience was very different. I killed final boss in 1st try very easy -- although I did go around collecting stuff, got lvl 7 Mea Culpa and the invincibility spell before attempting. Hardest was Lady of The Charred Visage, because I made mistake of going there first after the tutorial. The only boss that killed me 8+ times to make me frustrated enough to use Viridiana NPC helper. Crisanta gave me the 2nd most trouble. For some reason, I had a tendency to parry too early when she winds up for a hit and I got clipped by her zoom attacks sometimes.
Our Lady was brutal for me, as well, especially since I was doing the trophy where you can't heal. Despite this, she was also easily my favorite fight; managing all that screen-filling chaos was an awesome challenge.
For me Quirce was probably the easiest boss. Once I knew what he was doing it was simple. Esdras I had to look up, but once I realized how vulnerable he is during his lighting attack he fell really fast. Exposito was my hardest one. I still feel like it was luck more than anything that got me past him.
Never let bro cook again, my opinion and clearly the correct ranking: 12. Warden of the Silent Sorrow 11. Melquiades 💀 10. Ten piedad 9. Expósito 8. Our lady of the Charred Visage 7. Quirce 6. His Holiness Escribar (both forms) 5. Esdras 4. Crisanta 3. Tres Angustias (Ok, every boss behind this point, I managed to kill between 1-3 tries, Tres Angustias was a whole adventure, I maybe did 12 tries before beating them) 2. Sierpes 1. Isidora (Absolute hell)
@@juanmacascadas doesn't matter, the game had many patches nerfing and buffing bosses Your the one who shouldn't cook, you really think phase 1 crisanta is the fourth hardest boss in the game? Nah And tres angustius is easy, you totally have not played Blasphemous on release 😂
Fromsoft has trained me too much, I didn't find any boss really difficult, just some took a few tries to learn their moveset. But like Soulsbornekiro the platforming killed me more than anything. The rose portal trials were by far the hardest parts of the game for me and I was really dissapointed how unspectacular the reward was for them.
Those trials almost made me quit the game for good. There's so much bullshit that happens for no good reason and those ladders, ah those ladders. Was it too difficult to make the climb hitbox centered?
@@1990EscortXR3i Yup exactly. I enjoyed the challenge when it felt skill based, but there was also a lot of B's like the ladders. Or even the lamp jump, it was never consistent. I actually remapped my controller to do it with one button since being slightly off on the joystick/d pad could mean death
currently playing it right now and i must have took a diff turn because i fought the floating head the 2nd fight. def loving this game and working on getting through it!! thanks for the upload
I took more attempts at Our Lady of the Charred Visage than Last Son of the Miracle, but maybe because she was my second boss (not Ten Piedad) and I was still feeling the game out. By the time I got to the final boss, I was patient enough and had strong grasp with the mechanics that he only took me maybe 4 tries. When I set myself up to get the good ending after getting the other, it only took a single try the following fight. That said, none of the bosses in this game stood out as frustratingly difficult unlike say Hollow Knight. But they definitely had their sting to them and took some trial and error to perfect them, so they're not like Symphony of the Night bosses either, where you can just tank the entire fights.
Coming from a major souls fan I’d highly recommend it. It’s cheap and it’s got the same depressing atmosphere of souls. It would definitely require some love of 2d platformers but I definitely got my money’s worth out of it and it’s got the same feel of searching for upgrades and special items while having to learn proper dodge and patience in when to attack. A+
If you like the style go for it however if you're not into 2d games and if you're not ready to struggle with some clunky platforming this might not be for you.
Mad Paladin thanks. I do sometime enjoy 2d platformers like bloodstained and dead cells. Does blasphemous have a story with lore to discover? I love that about dark souls ☺️
@@awildwoolooappears2487 Yes yes it does :D and you will have to get lore bits the same way you would in souls through items and stuff and to me it was 10/10 interesting i loved it personally.
That baby and snake thing gave me so much trouble. And the big hands and face guy was easy because you can deflect the ball attacks by attacking them into him.
Lucas Galloway yes, but that’d be a direct translation, in the tone of the game and stuff it probably wouldn’t be 1:1, but either way that’s just a matter of which one fits best, but yes, you’re 1:1
"have mercy" (as in "Lord, have mercy upon us") and "three anguishes" would be a bit more accurate translations. It's interesting to see people conjecturing about how certain spanish boss names would be translated to english since I've always wondered myself how to better translate some of my favorite games' boss names to my native language.
Weird, I found Tres Angustias harder than Our Lady of the Charred Visage. But I suppose everyone will have different experiences. And Crisanta is actually pretty hard i found 🤔
Its funny how much tactics can change the difficulty of these fights. I found Esdras and Quirce to be some of the easier bosses because i found their patterns quickly. bosses like Chrisanta were much more difficult for me.
Gotta say, I'm surprised to hear you had trouble with Escribar. I was doing the trophy where you can't heal during each boss fight, and I still spanked him on my first try. This is how my list would shake out keeping in mind I couldn't heal at all. 10. Warden of the Silent Sorrow 9. Tres Angustias 8. Melquiadas, the Exhumed Archbishop 7. His Holiness Escribar 6. Exposito, Son of Abjugation 5. Crisanta of the Wrapped Agony 4. Ten Piedad 3. Quirce, Returned by the Flames 2. Esdras of the Anointed Legion 1. Our Lady of the Charred Visage The top four are the only ones that killed me at all, even with no healing. Although Ten Piedad actually killed me more than Quirce, that was largely due to me still getting used to the controls/mechanics and having a limited moveset and health bar that early in the game. There's a case to be made for Esdras over Charred Visage, and I would imagine he would certainly be number 1 if I could heal in the Visage fight, but without healing all those randomized, screen-filling effects were absolutely BRUTAL, yet extremely satisfying to get down. What a great little game.
Crisanta was actually hard for me, timings are tight and she has a lot of different attacks
My next challenge lol
Crisanta was comparable to Bloodborne's Lady Maria fight for me: an equal PvP fight if not for her screen wide lunge attacks.
Same, the final boss took 3 tries while christana took 9 and a broken desk from frustration
Crisanta is easily in the top 3 bosses for me in terms of difficulty as she was actually pretty tough.
As in tough compared to most bosses in this game which can be beaten in one try or two.
I completely disagree with Crisanta. She was actually one of the hardest even with the parrying
The archbishop and our lady of the charred Visage are way easier than the three sisters and even tie piedad
And the final boss was freaking easy after I knew how he worked
I think this video was made before WOE was released. She becomes a tank and this video lacks the third form of Escribar
@gregorykengstrasser3268 yeah it was but either way I just disagree with a bunch of this list.
I agree. For me Crisanta was harder even than the last boss, whose only took me a few attempt to defeat him.
I don't know, Crisanta is very predictable and easy to parry. Second phase doesn't really change that
@clabajea I heavily disagree. I, and it seems like many others, had a tough time with her, and I never really found her predictable. Now it's been a long ass time since I played the game, though, so my memory of my troubles is blurry at best
Love how he pronnounces spanish words like Ten Piedad or Tres Angustias. If you speak spanish its pretty funny

I didn't even think of pronouncing Piedad like that. I guess for people who don't speak any latin languages, it might as well be hieroglyphs.

For real. Once I flipped it to Spanish it just felt so right. Never gone back to the English VO since.
This entire game felt like a massive fever dream I swear to god
if by god you mean our Blessed Miracle, then yes.

Yes, but that was while referring to it as "Andross", a he.
He also referred to her as Andross. So for that joke, he makes sense. ;)
Did you just asume his gender?
He even said himself that he only "invested" 11 hours into the game. In this time one cannot understand it's glory or recognize details like this

Not once.
To me it was hard as well, but also because it is my least favourite boss by far, so fighting him feels like a slog
Playstyle is definitely a big factor with these bosses, I found Crisanta to be the hardest overall simply because I was too aggressive
exposito was kind of a mess tbh. i never felt like i was in control of winning or losing, it just became a dps race.
@Unbreakable Patches how is playing defensively not cheesy
I actually thought the fire guy was pretty easy after I died twice. Just too much of a pattern for me. But the complaints about him I understand. Esdras was tough for me and the archbishop.
yeah i find it very easy after the 3rd attempt
DeMod : Crisanta is the second easiest boss in Blasphemous
Me and Mythymoo : W H A T
I mean she wasn’t that hard but she still definetly makes you struggle a lot.
And she’s my second favorite boss
I actually had a really tough time with her personally, she hardly leaves you any breathing room near the end of the fight and just keeps relentlessly attacking you without end
she's the gwyn of blasphemous lmao
Demod doesn't know what the heck he's talking about, the number one boss is obviously the spikes... DUH!
*THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!*
Fr any time I partied her it would push me back so I couldn’t hit her for some reason 💀💀

It's interesting how everyone sees it different! Fought against this boss today and did it first try. I thought piedad was much harder than the charred lady

And, come on. “Have Mercy” and “Be Merciful” are used for basically the exact same thing.
who cares, spanese is a worthless par@site bootlef of latin
Two things:
1) On the Archbishop: There's a Mea Culpa move for the final hit in the 4-piece to be a massive upswing, using that due to the animation (probably a bug) he becomes a joke because every combo becomes a 7 hit (8 if you do the down smash at the top of the rising slash) Effectively shortening the time
2) On Charred Lady: It took me someone on twitter telling me this but YOU CAN CLIMB THE SIDES!!! The running room problem beat my ass (caused me to fail my no-flask run) but the more ya know right?
3) Cristana is bae

Yo this is wild. Piedad above exposito? Exposito was one of the hardest bosses for me because of the totally erratic movement and short windows for damage. Piedad is basically tutorial part 2.
Exactly. And Melquiades was an extremely easy fight.. Like it's one of my favorites because of how fucking cool it was. But it was verrrry easy.. Way easier than Exposito.
Agree. And Lady visage war harder than Melquiades by far
Matt Milliken
Oh sorry, did you want to have a fair fight?
*Instantly does tail attack, wiping half your hp with no warning*
My personal ranking after a playtrough without using health flasks on bosses:
10: warden of the silent sorrow
9: ten piedad
8: archdeacon
7: quirce
6: our lady charred visage
5: tres augustis
4: esdras
3: crisanta
2: son of the miracle
1: exposito

man i hate that baby and his bullshit tape worm
Yeah Exposito's fight has such a bad combat design imo. The attacks are barely telegraphed and so fast, it's suddenly a RNG game of who can deal more damage faster after so many bosses with clear moves and the second body part in which the boss takes damage makes no sense. Comparing that with the big skeleton or Quirce who had clear moves and hit boxes, Exposito was so frustrating for me...
I agree on like 90% exposito and the son of the miracle were such a gigantic pain... But it was a very nice challenge

3angustias was my 3rd boss and i killed it in the first attemp was the easiest for me, instead charred visage was the second and was pretty hard
The last son of the miracle was one of the easiest bosses for me took 2 attempts only to beat
He kinda reminds me of the radiance from hollow knight , of course he is no where as difficult but both of the makes jump over platforms while dodging attacks and hitting the boss except half of lsotm attacks can't even hit you and the other half are easy to dodge unlike radiance and absolute radiance of course

Using fire resistance for both Quirce and the last boss makes things a lot more forgiving. Especially if you are having a hard time dodging the last boss's fire attack. It's quite nice that Quirce gives you the highest fire resistance item in the game after you beat him.

You mean his pronunciation? ;)
Would definitely recommend to any SoulsSekiroBorne fan out there 🙌
His pronunciation of names in Spanish made me wanna slap someone. 😂

Interesting, I found Crisanta one of the hardest and one of my biggest complaints with the game is that the last boss is too easy.

Equip the marble rosary bead that increases damage as your flasks empty
Fight as you normally would but when things go south, go into your own "second boss phase" and start spamming prayers, flasks, ranged attacks and increasing damage....most bosses are done by then.
Wow totally different experience from me.. final boss was like 4th easiest boss IMO
The bead that makes you immune during flask consumption is a complete game changer
You can also spam one of those power magic abilities that rain from the ceiling when his face opens, which absolutely wrecks him.
My ranking from hardest to easiest after my first playthrough:
1. Esdras
2. Our Lady of the Charred Visage
3. Crisanta
4. Last Son of the Miracle
5. Quirce, Returned by the Flames
6. Melquiades
7. Ten Piadad
8. Tres Anguistias
9. Exposito
10. Warden
...But REALLY hard were only the top three bosses in my list.
I just beat the game the other day, and I died the most fighting crisanta.
This is the order of someone reliant on numerous health flasks instead of strategy

Melquiades harder than the Lady and Exposito? SERIOUSLY?
Also, Escribar isn't nowhere as hard as Esdras or Quirce at all! Esdras is by far the hardest boss in the entire game!
Quirce is one of the easiest bosses too
I don’t know whats going on with you but the baby is one of the hardest bosses and crisanta is also so much harder than the skeleton chair dude
Also flying head and quirce are EXTREMELY easy.

I beat tres augustines in 2-3 goes and I thought it was on the easier side of bosses. I would have beaten it earlier if I knew that you were supposed to hit the giant one and not wait for it to be over. What seemed interesting to me is the fact you mentioned the wall. As I only used the wall like twice in the entire boss fight. You know you can just jump up to the platforms right?

I find this kinda funny, because the Warden, Quirce, and Escribar+Last Son of the Miracle are the only bosses I beat on my first try. In fact, Last Son was my easiest boss, not including the Warden. The only thing that bothered me were the fireballs, but he only used them once. I can definitely see why some would find him hard, but in my experience, he was a cakewalk.
Yea agreed Esdras was crazy.... hard
A little heads up:

Ten piedad is Spanish for “have mercy” and tres angustias is Spanish for “Three agonies”

That high level spanish 😂
LatinDiveman I feel like him and the last boss are unfair because all they do is stun lock you.

Once you get the momentum it's easier
2. All the other ones in between were just right I'd say
All in all I actually give it a 10/10. Haven't been challenged like that since I was a kid. Hoping for a sequel
Jaime Greene Crisanta is one of the hardest yes, but I managed to beat her second try.

It’s “thou have mercy” in Spanish.
I’m curious how your opinion on Crisanta might change if you played the True Ending version of her fight that was added in the DLC.
Yeah, it becomes a true test of experience and endurance. I really needed the 8th Mea Culpa Blood Disc to beat her even after parrying everything.

10. Ten piedad
9. Expósito
8. Our lady of the Charred Visage
7. Quirce
6. His Holiness Escribar (both forms)
5. Esdras
4. Crisanta
3. Tres Angustias (Ok, every boss behind this point, I managed to kill between 1-3 tries, Tres Angustias was a whole adventure, I maybe did 12 tries before beating them)

1. Isidora (Absolute hell)

@@N_Tertainment7 Doesn't matter, just don't count the top 2.
@@juanmacascadas doesn't matter, the game had many patches nerfing and buffing bosses
Your the one who shouldn't cook, you really think phase 1 crisanta is the fourth hardest boss in the game? Nah
And tres angustius is easy, you totally have not played Blasphemous on release 😂
@@N_Tertainment7 Yes, still, I told you I killed Crisanta in 3 tries.
I actually remapped my controller to do it with one button since being slightly off on the joystick/d pad could mean death
currently playing it right now and i must have took a diff turn because i fought the floating head the 2nd fight. def loving this game and working on getting through it!! thanks for the upload
number seven "ten paydad
limao that's funny for someone who speak spanish
Last boss is easy with a Prayer that shoots the beam into his red face taking a huge chunk of his health.
he actually wearing saitama's gloves and can one punch enemies but he uses sword instead.
first time i’ve come across a list where I disagree with every single placement. crazy
Wow this game looks great
I took more attempts at Our Lady of the Charred Visage than Last Son of the Miracle, but maybe because she was my second boss (not Ten Piedad) and I was still feeling the game out.
Hey demodcracy would you recommend this game to a souls fan? Thinking of grabbing for the switch
This is definitely more of a Metroidvania game than a Souls game. If you enjoy Hollow Knight, you'll probably like this.
The music playing in the background of the Edras boss was always my favorite
Dmod, speedrunning uploads better than he does the games he plays!
Love these sort videos cause they make you realize how everybody perceives games differently. Also... 11hr playthrough? Took me 20hrs or something.

That baby and snake thing gave me so much trouble. And the big hands and face guy was easy because you can deflect the ball attacks by attacking them into him.
pretty sure #7 name's just spanish for "Be merciful", #6 is "Three worries"
The #7 is properly translated to: have mercy, be merciful its: se misericordioso or se piadoso, three worries its tres preocupaciones
#6 is "Three Anguishes"
Weird, I found Tres Angustias harder than Our Lady of the Charred Visage. But I suppose everyone will have different experiences.
And Crisanta is actually pretty hard i found 🤔
Actually Ten piedad is spanish for have mercy, I mean it makes sense, I think the developers are spanish
It is, the developers are Spanish, from Sevilla.
Its funny how much tactics can change the difficulty of these fights. I found Esdras and Quirce to be some of the easier bosses because i found their patterns quickly. bosses like Chrisanta were much more difficult for me.
PIE DAD 😂😂😂😂
Gotta say, I'm surprised to hear you had trouble with Escribar. I was doing the trophy where you can't heal during each boss fight, and I still spanked him on my first try. This is how my list would shake out keeping in mind I couldn't heal at all.
10. Warden of the Silent Sorrow
9. Tres Angustias
8. Melquiadas, the Exhumed Archbishop
7. His Holiness Escribar
6. Exposito, Son of Abjugation
5. Crisanta of the Wrapped Agony
4. Ten Piedad
3. Quirce, Returned by the Flames
2. Esdras of the Anointed Legion
1. Our Lady of the Charred Visage
The top four are the only ones that killed me at all, even with no healing.
Ah, it's so cute to see English speakers trying their hand at pronouncing Spanish ♥️
Wait what those 3 sisters are in my 3rd hardest tho. How is it low for you, am I that bad. Damn you miracle and that fiery pits.
And melquiades is the second easiest boss for me
