I should clarify to anyone here that the movie pitch Ken Penders made to SEGA was not the movie that Ben Hurst wanted to make. Hurst’s was basically a proper continuation/conclusion to the Saturday morning series, whereas Penders’ was something else entirely - with the premise involving characters from the Archie comics and Mobius being blown up. Hurst had no idea that Penders did this and felt justifiably betrayed. Meanwhile, Penders responded to Hurst, saying that the guy had no experience working in the movie industry (which is just a blatant lie).
Rest in Peace Ben Hurst. I hope Ken Penders never gets to experience the joy of a comfortable dump again in his life. I hope it always burns coming out and feels like soft-serve ice cream.
The fact that the sonic movies haven't done anything with Sonic the restaurant bugs the F out of me. Olive garden was the biggest slap in the face. Seriously!? An ITALIAN restaurant?

Well I'm back and i saw a studio that was awesome it name is angle studio,s and angle studio decide not to become a another Disney by Allowing people who watch their show and movie to VOTE ON What PROJECTS get made imagine if a GAME studio did that or other movie studios did that

Well technically the stolen idea, was an act of copyright infringement.. Mcdonald had no ties with sega so him using Sonic in the first place would have been copyright infringement.. Luckily Sega doesn't care to much about copyright as long as you don't try to make money from it.. but I think that aspect of Sega makes people forget that Sonic still is copyrighted and technically using Sonic without Sega's approval is Infringement

I like the Tony Hawk games, but just doing that with Sonic slapped on is not a "billion dollar idea". 3 years prior, Disney already made a game like that and even got to use the pro skater engine. Konami tried their hand at one too. How would another game like that stand out? Even if Naka had taken the idea of Sonic on a board, what Sonic Team created was unique & actually felt like a Sonic game.
I don't really think you can be upset at a company taking your idea when you show them your idea.. while you're Idea is infringing on that companies copyright...
Start with a generic character, get a contract for the pitch meeting, suggest an IP to use it with but don't make it a necessity. That's how you avoid these things.

Why is hiring a french studio for animation that shocking? France has some of the best animation studios in the world and some of the most prestigious school in that domain like Gobelins Paris. Hell, Arcane was made by Fortiche, it's also a french studio! Wakfu is french, Miraculous is French! It wasn't risky in the slightest to hire a french studio to make the Sonc Boom Series. Maybe WiDo! wasn't the best choice, but for a comedy, they did a nice job!

Sonic Team was not the one working on the game, that was SEGA of America & the SEGA Technical Institute, one of SEGA's US branches, and Naka gave that threat of him quitting to the STI. Now, uh, regarding the stuff with SatAM and the Sonic Armageddon movie. MGM did not attempt to do anything SatAM-related only for SEGA to say no, they tried to make a Sonic movie (which didn't involve SatAM), but the deal didn't work out. Also, regarding your coverage of Sonic Boom, you left out the fact SEGA/Sonic Team brought on the writers of the TV show to write the story for Rise of Lyric. The origin story was initially approved (I think), but later rejected after the game became part of Sonic Boom. Before I go further, when you showed images of Boom Sonic's initial designs, you used a post that Channel SonAmy, a popular but also controversial Sonic fan who regurgitates information a lot, did a few years back. Sonic Team (with Iizuka) heavily supervised Rise of Lyric, and so did SEGA of Japan, and to my knowledge, regarding the whole "only Tails and Eggman could be inventors" bit, it was Iizuka who told BRB that. He did not oppose the origin story, but SOJ and all ST did. And one of the reasons SEGA refused to let BRB cover Sonic's origins in RISE OF LYRIC was b/c they wanted Sonic Team to do that in the future. If you want my opinion, BRB should have flipped off the SEGA reps hard, rejected the heck outta their rules, and probably should've scrapped the game when SEGA started coming down with unreasonable rules. IMO, I liked the original Boom design for Sonic better. This is supposed to be a spinoff set in another universe. So what? Knuckles can be jacked as heck, but Sonic has to stay perfectly on model? sonic armageddon was an in-joke amongst my college friends for a while, even though i was the only sonic fan amongst us. since it was semi related to the class subject, i showed essentially just as a funny video, but we ended up latching onto how it just kept zooming in for most of it, and before we knew it "zoom in, on a zoom in, on a zoom in" had become a recurring joke for us.

why do they pour millions in to boom just to cram it on a wii u and give the developers no time to actually make the game? and the idea of that guy almost killing himself over sonic heros is so funny, the worst sonic game by far
IMO, I liked the original Boom design for Sonic better. This is supposed to be a spinoff set in another universe. So what? Knuckles can be jacked as heck, but Sonic has to stay perfectly on model? Why? When the only thing separating Boom Sonic from normal Sonic is a bandana and some stray quills, wouldn't that just create brand confusion, with people thinking it's in the same canon as the main games?

My take from this video is that all of sega sonic team titles are just rushed / re-package / reconfigured and that explains why sonic teams titles are never polished / quality and their titles do not hold value.

I never was into sonic and honestly the series always seemed cursed
sonic armageddon was an in-joke amongst my college friends for a while, even though i was the only sonic fan amongst us.
since it was semi related to the class subject, i showed essentially just as a funny video, but we ended up latching onto how it just kept zooming in for most of it, and before we knew it "zoom in, on a zoom in, on a zoom in" had become a recurring joke for us.
