I have been using these for 5 years. I ride a small bike to work. I bought these knee guard as my workplace doesn't provide locker for my riding pants and riding pants usage is not common in my country. I had a few slow speed falls using this knee guard and it protected my knees very well. Even when my motorcycle fell on my leg/knee, my knee didn't scrape the tarmac. Thanks to the hard shell of the protector. It is practical for commuting. However, this knee guard can't be worn bare skin as the velcro will press hard against my skin which I don't recommend. Secondly, this guard doesn't feel as comfortable after upgrading the D3o to Level 2 as it is too thick but usable. I wish there are more manufacturer produce commuter oriented knee protector as falling bare knee on hard tarmac is very painful and riding pants are not the most practical solution for commuting.
At a glance, the icon are more casual and sacrifices a bit of protection for practicality & comfort. Depends what you want. For simple commuting I'd go the icon.
CE Level 1 for these. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Gear Geeks at cs@revzilla.com or 877.792.9455. Ride safe, -Pat
My D3O knee level 2 is thicker than what they showed here. I bought the cloverleaf but mine were defective. I also upgraded the level 1 to level 2. I returned my cloverleaf and put the stock level 1 armor back in. Level 1 is half the thickness of my level 2. Both have replaceable armor. Upgrade it to level 2 regardless.
I got them but they are way too big 😞 I am 155cm/100lbs, do you have any recommendations? I struggle a lot to find protection that isn’t too big… thank you’
They can be worn over or under your knees based on preference and jean sizing. If you have any other questions or concerns, please reach out to our Gear Geeks at cs@revzilla.com or 877.792.9455. Ride safe, -Pat
I put these over my riding jeans because integrated armor isn't comfortable to walk around with and can look odd. Two seconds on and off for superior comfort and armor that's more likely to stay in place during a crash.
I purchased pants with knee pads. The pads didn't rest over my knees, more like my shins. And they were very washy(pants aren't tight). No way they would be over my knees in a crash.

Can I be worn under a pair of wranglers?
Does it come with a set or do you buy two?
They're sold as a set of two. -DrewZilla
ICON Field Armor Street Knee vs DAINESE KNEE V E1 - What would you recommend? I'm a little skeptical about ICON protective features...

I'm sure you could.
Does Icon make this type for elbows?

between this and Dainese Knee V E1 N Guards which one i should order?
The Dainese guards provide more coverage, so perhaps go with Dainese. -DrewZilla
I got the leatt dual axis, it's CE rated for abrasion and impact and only a few more bucks
Can i wear that under a loose jeans?
If they're loose enough, sure. -DrewZilla
I wonder if I could wear these with my MSR dual sport boots that come half way up my shin? Who knows.
Yes, they can be worn with those boots. -DrewZilla
RevZilla Thanks I ordered these knee guards yesterday
Do these have any CE rating?
The D3O armor used is CE Level 1. -DrewZilla
He sure does love to say the word Knee guard 👀😳
Is this purely for impact protection or does it do friction as well?
houseofcheung I'm wondering the same, il buy these right now if I can drag a knee with them.
They provide a decent amount of abrasion resistance in addition to their impact protection. -DrewZilla
@@RevZilla What can you recommend as a really good abrasive and impact knee pads without breaking the budget?
Does it cut off circulation
Not if sized properly, no.
tell them to bring back the fuggin cloverleaf.
i mean at this point why not just get riding jeans?
Some people just prefer these. -DrewZilla
because for a daily commuter you cant just count on one set of jeans to wear for the rest of your life..

Riding jeans like the Scorpion Covert Jeans the knee protection never for a right. These would be a great addition for hoakie stock knee inserts.
All noobs should buy !
looks great, but seems like you didn't even use the product. this is a very lazy review and is clearly sponsored
