The Boeing F-15E dual-role fighter is an advanced long-range interdiction fighter and tactical aircraft. The F-15E is the latest version of the Eagle, a Mach 2.5-class twin-engine fighter. More than 1,500 F-15s are in service worldwide with the US Air Force, US Air National Guard and the air forces of Israel, Japan and Saudi Arabia, including over 220 F-15E fighters.

The US could easily dominate ALL airspace with their F-15's alone. The F-22's and the F-35's are gravy.
I worked on F-15s for over 15 years (avionics). I've had multiple rides (F-15C). It's a beast and I know crews working the F-22 know what it feels like to be the biggest and baddest mofo in the valley.

When I lived outside of Greenville NC, 4 f-15's a day flew directly over my house, again almost every day. Around 3-4PM. One day, I took a map of NC and drew a line thru the Seymour Johnson AFB strip, and low and behold, it went right over my house!!! It was I assume their "glide path" on returning to SJ AFB. Still an awesome aircraft...
I saw one of these at an airshow. As far as I'm concerned, it was more impressive than the demonstration team that was there. The ballistic climb was ridiculous. Extremely maneuverable for someting so big. These attack versions could still kick most other aircraft out of the sky unless they were the newer stealth types.

I was passing the airport in memphis an this jet flew over my car. It was the most terrifying experience ever it was unexpected and rocked my car as it passed. By the time I looked out the window to see what it was another flew over my car. Within seconds they were out of sight amazing 😮😮😊
This plane still makes my *bleep* move. Sleek, sexy, and a force to be reckoned with. The same way some men obsess over cars(God bless 'em) is the same way I obsess about fighters.. all of 'em, I'm not biased. I love the 16, 18, 22, 14, etc. Sue me.

F-15 fighter jets are amazing in the sky. These jets are very fast and are great in air to air combat, just like the F-22 Raptor and the F-35 Lightning. I think that the F-15 would be around a few more years. I like the F-15 X version.

For its generation fighter, lacks a long range air to air missile. Why no Phoenix missiles?
Bruh do you not consider an AIM-120D "long range"? Its longer range than the Pheonix. Pheonix was heavy and huge and the AMRAAM (despite what the first M stands for lol) has great range, active and passive guidance with datalink. Its an awesome missile.

If the USAF needed an interceptor capable of doing patrol sorties (air superiority) as well as strikes in an area of conflict then long range missiles are needed.
Maybe the F-15 has only been sortied out by the USAF to neutralize bogies it can detect on radar. What does it do if there was a BVR threat but in proximity of the enemy’s weapons system. Can it take out BVR missiles aimed at itself or what it was intended to protect.
Regardless if the F-15 has a RIO or a Signal Officer, what does it do to neutralize a cruise missile that it has seen in its radar?
The F-14 with its antiquated antiquated Phoenix missiles is programmed in its AWG-9 radar (the same type radar technology found on those F-15s) can intercept missiles and neutralize a target at long range BVR. Even if it were an F-15.
Both occupants of the airplane have both of their arms, therefore the plane is fully armed.

Never have. The F-16 though, had a GE based power plant on the XL prototype and a GE 79 stretched version that you may be referring to.
F-15E still use PW-220's and 229's.
I believe only the latest version of the F-15, purchased by Egypt use the new General Electric engines. All of the F-15s used by the U.S. have the older Pratt & Whitney engines.

Many of the later generation aircraft of both USNavy and USAF use the GE F110 engines. More than half of of the aircraft in the USAF (as well as many of the world’s air forces) use the Pratt&Whitney F100 because it was in the F16s for the LWF competition. The F100 was intended to be the replacement engine for the F-14.

The F-15 Eagle is designed as an interceptor and air superiority fighter. But the need for a multirole combat as seen in the F-16 Falcon that can also hold its own in air superiority role has threathened the future of the F-15 Eagle. So they built an F-15E with longer range with conformal fuel tanks that also find its way to F-16s as done by the Israelis with their F-16s. More payload and a new targeting LANTIRN pods just to prove whatever being thrown upon on the multirole combat aircraft, the F-15 Eagle can also execute it better
Other countries that have the F-16 and carry CFT'S (conformal fuel tanks) do so because they don't have the large tanker fleet that the USAF has. Block 50, 52 and 60 are CFT compatible, including the USAF's F-16's. You don't see them on U.S. jets because as I said above, they're not needed.
Secondly, the F-16 and F-15 were both designed to exploit their strengths under different conditions. The F-16 was designed to be a dogfighter and multi-role fighter. The F-15 was designed to be a air superiority fighter and interceptor.
The F-15E gave the F-15 platform the ability to retain all it's air superiority capability, but the ability to carry a lot of air to ground weapons over the battlefield and take out ground targets over longer range than anything else in service at the time it entered service.
My dad loaded weapons on these guys at Mt Home AFB. I actually got to sit is one of the simulators there, pretty dope. (edit) Just saw the guys from Seymour Johnson AFB, he loaded for them too XD

I wonder if All Classic F-15Cs will be scrapped and be replaced by Multirole E Variant due to its latest capabilities and upgrades.
When a radar is developed that can detect stealth jets these otherwise more capable planes will be back thick and fast.
F-15 and other fighter pilots who no longer fly, love to brag about flying, this aircraft is still in service and EVERYTHING about its capabilities is classified. The government have arrested a number of these ex-pilots after a lot of pressure from the ones who play by the rules. I love this aircraft. It was the 1st and only aircraft that I was assigned. I've heard comments about our newer fighter aircraft, the F-15C Streak Eagle, is the "King of the Mountain" until some other fighter can beat its combat record. FYI: DON'T BELIEVE THE RUSSIANS ABOUT THEIR AIRCRAFT. They copy our airframe, but they won't let you see their basic systems. Flying tricks for airshow doesn't prove you can destroy a target.

Mi Papá f-15C model is primarily air to air combat has shorter range and only has one seat. While f-15 E models have two seats and primary mission is air to ground.
