  • Oregon's 142nd Wing will be the inaugural operational unit for the F-15EX, offering a fresh spectacle for plane enthusiasts in Oregon to behold.
The 142nd Wing of the Oregon Air National Guard is gearing up for a substantial enhancement as it gets ready to shift from the F-15C to the more advanced F-15EX, marking the pioneering transition for an operational unit.
US Air Force Pilots from the 142nd Wing conducted tests on the F-15EX at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. They observed significant enhancements in power, radar capabilities, and avionics, contrasting notably with the outdated features of the F-15C.

How many times did the narrator repear "the 142nd wing of the Oregon Air National Guard" but didn't talk about the speed upgrade that was in the leadin. This was just an ad for the 142nd.

It's the new engines fly by wire and the big deal is the new Radar. When the new air to air missiles cone on line this bad boy is going to be a handful to any adversary.

Every fighter aircraft to fight for ww3 should speeding of over 5,000 kilometers to be qualify for it, otherwise, it's not a safe for the pilots. Because enemy antiaircraft is faster than 5,000 kilometers per hour.

The US should have bought a thousand of these instead of any F-35 wonder planes. We need a Frontline fighter that has a better than 50% readiness capability. The F-35 is too expensive and not reliable.

Since its fly by wire, why would it not employ a right side stick vs the center stick?? Like the F22, F16 and F35 ??

I am a bit of an aficionado when it comes to military combat aircraft. Something I enjoy researching and learning about over many years. I was simply curious as to why the new upgraded fly by wire F15EX is not using a right side stick like the F22, F16 and F35.
Now why would you assume so many things about me from such a harmless question? How about actually ask a person in polite way instead. Something like "Hey, interesting question. Do you know much about the F15?" Who knows you might get an adult educational conversation. Anything is possible.

For the F-15 it is, the old models still used hydraulic flight controls. With the dew digital fly by wire controls and advanced computer controlled flight envelope logic. The F-15EX will be able to fly circles around the old F-15 and you will see it do a lot of high alpha post stall moves that you see in the F-35 and a lot of the Russian jets.
