    Eric, I am so sorry you have to spend time, effort and energy doing what the company should have done from the get- go. I personally am sooooo tired of shoddy craftsmanship across most industries ~ you are a patient man and a great teacher. God bless you

    Suggestion: Do a water capture off of your roof for you chicken water. Roof gutter, black plastic semi flex french drain pipe, found a $20 plastic food grade 55 gal drum, some pvc pipe and fitting (including a clean out plug) and garden hose, bang, done. Water forever.

      Absolutely. I will add that on. I can't use it exclusively because we have some nasty droughts here in the summer. I will certainly use reclaimed water during our rainy months.

    Kits are wonderful to get ideas. In the end you have a better product to build yourself.

    I don't know if you get much of a snow load in the winter but a ridge board or 2" X 4" collar tie would give you better strength

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  Год назад +1

      No snow here really. It only snows once every 5 years. I may put in some collar ties just in case.

    Nice job with making the right modifications. I purchased the Over EZ chicken coop and should have went with my first instinct which was to retrofit a shed kit. Far more room to expand and make the necessary modifications.

    You have great patience so much more than I. Next time I bet you will design your own and learn from this. Awesome adjustments.

    Good help today is hard to find, Carpenters today are what I call wood butchers! I know you will be doing your own work and not buying kits in the future!God bless you and your family 🙏! Happy Saint Patrick's Day to all 🍀!

      Wood butcher, I resemble that term. I had quite a few miscuts with a similar from scratch project but I'm not a carpenter lol. I learned a lot and got better as it progressed

    I feel your pain, and I am so sorry you have to go through this.
    Let's hope the Company does the right thing to fix your problem.
    Then you have to start all over again with the trusses...but you are young, YOU CAN DO IT 😉

    Cool! Can't wait to see your solar chicken coup come together. Our girls don't like it when it gets 110-115F out so I built a 8x12' insulated and air conditioned chicken "shed" last summer. I have 2400w of panels I need to finish installing in the next few weekes to offset the air con and other house hold use.

    If you get a chance to view kenskarpenty on RUclips. He gives the how and why of building garages and housing projects the way he does it. His are mostly on concrete but going up is not so much different. Of late he has a injured wrist and has done a model garage but even there it’s still basically the same.

    Oh boy, I would never buy a kit in any format. As a 40+ tear carpenter I build everything myself. Would hVe been better to use a ridge board and stick Fram your rafters. Also give you something to nail decking into along the top. With trusses you have open area between them and decking can buckle up or down. Good luck on the build. In the future 8f need be I would be willing to help you....... Jeff

    What a pain, I feel for you. That was probably more work than if made all the cuts yourself. Whomever Al (Lumnah Acres)gets his kits from is on the ball. I like your channel, new sub.

      Welcome to the channel.
      No worries. I just had a few mods to make. Yes, I would like to know where Lumnah gets his kits as well.

    Wish any kits would be built correctly. I bought a small book shelf with the assumption that six identical baskets would fit on it.
    I had to take it apart and drill new holes in it and put back together. The baskets only fit on one shelf of three. The others hit no more than pencil graphite width

    Does this mean the metal chicken coop on your Chicken playlists didn't work out? Is it due to exposure to rain, wind, snow and sun on the sides of the metal coop? Thank you

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  Год назад

      No. They are fine. I added some wind breaks for that metal coop and some roof panels. I am just consolidating coops and adding more space. We are going to be hatching some chicks soon and I want all of them in the same coop.

      @@CountryLivingExperience Thank you. Any chance you can show what kind of roof panels and wind breaks?

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  Год назад

      @@faythkhoo719 You can see them in many of my latest chicken videos. I just used what I had...scrap metal siding, scrap pool liner, etc.
