I live on an acre in southern WI, we have two sheds so we are making one into a coop! This video is so helpful, thank you!

Hey we have the best nest too and love it, BUT we have trouble getting more then one chicken in at a time. We have 16 chickens and they get stressed because they have to wait

What size storage building do you suggest for 10 chickens?

You did such a fantastic job...not only on the coop but on the editing and making of this video ❤️
I know your editing software is difficult 😕
I was so happy to see this video pop up. Thank you 😊

Nice video. Thanks. I'm looking forward to the next one on winterizing the coop. I'm in Maine and really need it.

I like to paint my hardware cloth with rustolum black. It disappears. Looks great 👍

This is one of those tips that when you hear it you immediately just go "Yes. Yes, of course..." Ahaha. Thank you so much, great idea! 😊

One thing for the future. Never use drywall screws outside. They will rust and make your nice white surface look terrible. I know they are cheap, but just notice what they do.

When you remove those side shelves, replacd them with 2x4's, so you can still keep the chickens roosting in that spot but can poop behind the bars instead of on them! Just a thought! God Bless!

what do you do with the windows on the door with all that open when it rains? doesnt the rain get into the coop?

Great question! They are protected now that we’ve added on our covered run - I have a video on that too 💫

Thank you for doing what you might think _everyone_ would do, but that in practice almost _nobody_ does do. Namely, tp document, edit and post a sensibly thought-through project with a video that's information rich and entertaining, but not ego-driven or full of superfluous detail. In fact, this particular video hits so many of the important points, and does so with such effortless competency, that it's almost hard to imagine what could be done better!
I've just picked up a weatherboard cubby house from a friend, and am going to convert it into a coop for my two beautiful girls - my silkie hens, Kushi and Rose. And, while not seeming like it should need brain-surgery level intelligence to plan the layout for the conversion, well... lets just say that apparently I'm a bit dumber than I thought! Anyway, when in doubt head to YT, right?
*Wanted: someone, anyone really, anywhere in the world that has decided to turn a garden shed into a chicken coop, and then documented the process.*
I mean, there are a lot of people in the world. And a lot of people have gardens. And a lot of gardens have old sheds in them. And a lot of people that have gardens with old sheds alsp keep chickens. Soooo, putting two and two together... you get minus one! It's entirely inexplicable, but there it is. A sea of nothingness, roiling with vapidity and devoid of even the slightest spark of common sense. I mean, c'mon people! Sheds! Gardens! Chickens! There must be _someone!_
Thankfully my descent into madness ended here, thankfully a lone voice of sanity broke through the relentless inanity of the "hobby-farm-vlogger-like-and-subscribe" crowd.
Actually, and quite surprisingly, the journey concluded in just about the most satisfying way possible. And so with the long search finally over, this pointless rant can finally end. Thank you, thank you so very much for showing me the comfort to be found in the sanity of strangers who also care, despite all the crazy out there, for the simple life. And for hens.
Thank you. Thank you so very, very much. Really. 😊

Loved this video! I would love to see the chicken run video you will be making, and also the winterizing would be good, although I live in Oklahoma and probably wouldn't need extensive winterizing. But I learn so much from each of your videos!

Great video! Thank you! We will be transitioning to our homestead property very soon and this idea for a coop is amazing! My husband and I really like this idea 😊 I would appreciate seeing your suggested videos on moving the coop as well as the one about a run. We will definitely be needing a run!
