I am one of those people that loves watching your videos because in them you take me to places that are inaccessible to me due to disability, and I thank you very much for that. There are so many wonderful locations in this country for photography and I applaud the fact that you stay in this country and share your passion with us, rather than jetting off to some foreign location all of the time. Stunning images once again.
Hey Henry, around 12:00 mark you mentioned "...what a hobby..." Actually, it's no hobby for you, it's your Calling! Your compassion for others and incredible enthusiasm, that never ceases, is what separates you from everyone else. Great Advent videos and you've opened a Pandora's Box with your dailies. None of us want you to go back!🎉😂❤
You do a lot of good for a lot of people, many of whom you may never hear from. That you take the time to create these videos, sharing your passion for these wonderful places, bringing folks along with you, is a blessing for many you may never be aware of. There is value in your efforts. I for one appreciate what you do with this channel. Cheers, Henry.
As an older chap (71) in Australia I watch your RUclips’s religiously hoping one day to walk up a small Wainwright or a trip to Scotland in the next year or so. My 24-200mm is also glued to my Z6. Although I broke it on my 1st day in Iceland this year, leaving me with only my 14-30 mm. Stay well and keep pumping out your adventures. Cheers!
Yes, I'm one of those old-timers at 71, I can't do the hills these days but I never miss one of your videos Henry. They take me back to when I walked all around those fells and the memories come flooding back. Eskdale remains my favourite base for exploring. My favourite lens is the Olympus 40-150mm F2,8, it's hardly ever off my OM1 Mk2, so versatile and awesome quality.
Henry we live in the Cotswolds but I still hanker for the fells. Our two golden retrievers took us up and down many fells in the past but sadly are no longer with us so travelling up to Hartsop just isn't the same anymore. So grateful that you've found a small pocket in your rucksack for us to hitch a ride in.👍👍👍
Henry it's very true what you say...those of us who can't get up into the mountains you are our eyes...I haven't given.up just yet and your passion makes me want to get into.the mountains photographing...many thanks and best wishes
As an older gent and Yankee from the PNW (Seattle) I was delighted to hear of your Advent video series. Your attitude and quality photography and teaching are an inspiration. Always a highlight in my day. Thank you...and a blessed Advent to you.
I am another one who can't climb a mountain or fell but thoroughly enjoys your mix of fun, learning, and expertise. Your enthusiasm brings it all to life and I feel, if just in my imagination, that I am there. Keep up he good work...you are a one off
That rainbow looks like what I've always heard called a "sun dog". It's a chromatic rainbow-like display that shows up 22.5 (or more rarely, 45) degrees from the sun, usually from either water vapor or ice crystals in the atmosphere. Beautiful conditions!
Henry, I am one of those people who live vicariously through your exploits due to disability. It makes me so happy when I see one of your videos has been released. I know I am going to be able to hike and enjoy nature again due to you. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us! 🫶😊
Hey Henry! There's just one problem with your advent series: the withdrawl we'll suffer when we go back to just 1 video per week!!!!! All kidding aside, your videos have healing powers. Thank you so much! Ever grateful for you.
Hello Henry, well I'm approaching 71, still getting into the hills when I can, I might be a bit slower these days, but I have no intention to stop. I had a 24-200 Z lens and I loved it, I sold it with my Z5, and instantly regretted it, and I have missed it ever since. I think that I will probably sell my 24-70, and get another 24-200. sometimes we just do stupid things don't we?! Great video, thanks. I've never done Holme Fell, but now it has been added to my list for my next trip.
Easily my favourite most inspiring and enthusiastic photographer on the tube. U do get a little envious, that I can't walk or climb to the best view points due to my disability and health but you get there. So all is not lost. I still enjoy my road side photography. Keep up with your awesome chanel, I love it. 👏👏👏👍
Hi Henry. As I live in NZ I also love your adventures into the UK hills as we are generally unable to do that here due to the land being privately owned and therefore we don't usually have any right of way unfortunately. One day I will get back to the UK and visit some of your favourite spots. Keep up the sterling work.
I have this lens because of watching your videos. I had a similar all purpose lens for my sony and loved versatility. As someone that walks long distances and only carries a single lens it’s fabulous
Your videos just keep getting better and better Henry, as you are an absolute natural behind the lens. Love your work, your photos are so inspiring and I love having a giggle with you along the way. My 'go to' lens is my kit, as my distances are not as far away, but I am still playing around with my 70-200 and its coming out of my bag more and more.
What a fabulous video - such a stunning location and great images. I'm looking forward to seeing the Lake District in all the snow we've had recently and how you work the light in those conditions. Wonderful, Henry.
Thank you very much from France. Your videos are beautiful, all your videos refresh brain and refresh eyes... and make me forget all the ugly things of this world nowdays ! Thanks a lot ! and take care of you.
Henry, you are such a lovely guy. Energy full on!! My favourite lens is 24-120 f4 S Nikon, brilliant lens. Cheers from the Pyrenees and hope to come here some day. Let me know! Have fun out there ...
Henry your excitement is infectious love seeing these every night and the way you describe the rocks well Wordsworth couldn't have put it any better im useing my 70-300 more and more on a dx
Thanks for another great start to my day! My favorite all around lens is my Tamron 18-400 for Nikon! Keep the great videos coming…and thanks for taking me along!
Thanks for giving this lens some love. It’s almost permanently on my Z5 wherever I go. I’ve taken some of the best shots I’ve ever taken with it and they’re certainly sharp enough. Landscape, seascape, sport, street, weddings… does it all.
Loved todays vidja! My favorite lens is probably the old Minolta 50mm lens because I love the feeling of it, not the sharpest not the best at all but it makes me realize why I love photography :D
Currently my most used zoom lens is my canon 24 - 105 rf but I also love my 24mm tilt shift. I wish Canon would do a weather sealed version of their 24-240mm rf as that would definitely change my set up for sure. Great selection of images Henry, the light was stunning
I couldn’t agree more! Nikon did a proper job with their 24-200. Canon could have charged $150 more and gave us a proper 24-200 with weather sealing. Kinda stupid.
Henry I am absolutely loving your advent project. I have just purchased the canon 24 to 105mm for my start journey in landscape. if i had seen this video first i may of gone for the 24 to 200mm. thanks again for all the advice and enthusiasm you share with us. Danny
Henry, thank you so much for recognizing and understanding, that, for some of us, for whatever reason, are not able to get out to experience what you are experiencing and providing for us in your videos. I have more than once stated to write a comment and thank you “for being our legs and feet” on your treks. Your passion and compassion is contagious, to say the least. At 71, and still a “newbie rookie” with a D3500 and a Tamron 18-270mm which I tend to favor over the 2 kit lenses. Continue doing what you do best and keep taking us places that I won’t be able to see for myself. Bless you.
Thank you for sharing another great adventure and your stunning photographs. I love exploring places I will probably never see through your videos and your enthusiasm and beautiful photography always inspires me to get out with my camera. I have long since been a Pentax shooter (started in film days and just stuck with it because I can still use my beautiful prime lenses). My favourite lens has become my 18-270mm lens because of the flexibility and versatility it gives me without carrying lots of gear. It’s my travel lens and hiking lens and gives me really sharp results as I have printed many of my photos on canvas, one being 22”x44” with excellent results. Thanks again - loving your advent series!
Bravo & Cheers Henry! Your enthusiasm makes it such a pleasure to watch you. That there are numerous comments referring to the pleasure many take in being able to go with you when they are unable to themselves is testament to your generosity. I've recently upgraded my equipment and as much as I appreciate my two 24-70 lenses the Z and F mounts, I'm also LOVING my 24-200 and my 14-30 Zeds! Presently I'm using my converted D800E for infrared and putting up an exhibition of IR in the coming months, as well as my D850 because I have so much F mount glass or I'd be only using mirrorless Z series stuff. Sorry about your little accident with your Olympus, but she'll be up and running again soon! I'm a Nikon man since the mid 70's so that wasn't easy for me to say about Olympus, I hope you know. Seriously, it's not about the equipment it's what you do with it.
I haven't checked your page, but if you haven't yet, what about a day, sunrise and sunset around Tarn Hows! Being a "Yank" who's yet to visit the Lake District, I'm only visiting with you and a few others and google earth, but it looks like a nice spot for some woodland photography.
Really enjoying this Advent series Henry. Living in Wisconsin, USA, I've never been to the Lake District and probably never will. I can see why your videos are a great gift to those who have been there but are unable to return. What an amazingly beautiful spot! Also, don't worry about struggling between the pragmatic and the emotional sides! Like all artistic endeavors, they both contribute greatly to your awesome photography and are equally important!
Hi Henry, that Vertical Rainbow I know as a parahelia. It’s form by ice crystals in cirrus clouds, they act as prisms bending the light rays through them, but as they fall they become vertically aligned hence the rainbow pillar. All the best, keep up the good work 👍
As a Nikon shooter I agree with you Henry. Currently my main lens is the z 24-200 which I love as its sharp enough for me as an amateur. The only other lens in the bag at the minute is the z 16-30. I am however considering the 100-400 to try and punch into the landscape a little more but weight is a consideration for me though since having spinal fusion. Cracking advent series Henry, never miss one of your videos. You’re an inspiration and a joy to watch. Keep up the good work 👍🏼
I'm coming down to the Lakes in early January, I've added Beacon and now Holme Fell to my ToDo list for the week! I follow your outings on the OS map but it took me a while to locate this one. 🙂
Good video, you are absolutely spot on. I was a little skeptical when I bought this lens, but it didn't take long to fall in love with it for outdoor photography. I also have the 14-30 which is just as impressive. Both are great for well-lit landscapes. With my Z7 I'm able to travel light. At my age that's really important. Can't wait to get back out west to the Grand Canyon and the Rockies.
Again a very nice vlog full of beatifull views and your energy is stunning. Too answer the question about lenses is 50 mm. and the versatile 28-200 Tamron on my Sony….. and if I need wider, than i make a Panic Pano ;-) Keep Wobbling and next time better be in time, so you don’t need to rush!! Have a nice one! Cheers from the Netherlands //Dave
Another great video Henry. The light shining on those trees with the dark background were amazing. I use the Tamron 17-35mm and the Nikon 28-300mm lenses and they are brilliant. They give me all the ranges i need. Great image's as usual mate. Look forward to the next one.
Another amazing video. Wind, like any other natural thing, can add or take away from our experience but also open up some really neat aspects. Doing IR shots, in the wind with the clouds, is perfect with wind blowing, and a little less dramatic when it is still. As someone who is "to old" physically, I thoroughly enjoy your adventures, and look forward to every shot and video. Thanks again for all you do,
A little afterthought, like you, I enjoy Nikon cameras and lenses. I use the 24-200mm lens for just about everything I shoot. I just bought the OM-5 because of how you talked about it and I am looking forward to using the similar lens on that camera as well.
Nice shots, thank you for sharing. I’m in the Canon APS-C camp, so the 18-150 won me over and that’s what I carry most of the time. Weight, versatility and for my use case more than good quality makes me enjoy going out. I think, these small „superzooms“ got so much better than my 10yr old 18-200 and I even enjoyed that one back in the days.
My favourite lense is my Sigma 18-300, which I have had for about 3yrs now, it is the lense like your 24-200 that gives almost all I want when out shooting
Hi Henry Just a thought, think we be interested in how you sort through your photos, what program you use to view them, and how or where you store them, even a little photo editing ? Keep your video coming, love your passion
Loving this Advent series Henry, look forward to viewing each one every evening. Only have kit lenses (nothing special) but they range from 18mm - 300mm and cover most of my needs at the moment, saving up for a 600mm to do more wildlife in the future. I’m fortunate enough to be able to access places that others are not and sharing images gives me as much pleasure as taking them, as you say it transports people to places they would love to go but can’t due to personal issues. Beautiful images Henry, the light was stunning and I get just as excited when I witness such conditions 🤪
I think my favourite lens is a 100-400mm. I love picking out slices of the landscape and isolating things. 200mm just isn’t enough 🙃 btw, I’m really loving this advent series Henry!
Great video - Thx a lot ! My favorite lenses are the Sigma 85 1.4 DGDN on Leica SL(for portraits) , and the 16-55 2.8 Fuji on X-H1 for winter-outdoor - adventures on an north-sea-island 😀
Hi Henry, thanks for your wonderful videos. Sorry that it cuts you up because for whatever reason we can no longer climb the fells etc. I know what you mean though, I’m very limited at the moment because of some bad heart problems. ( I go in hospital tomorrow for surgery so I will miss the next few videos until I come out and I’m able to catch up. I love my 24-200 lens on my. Nikon Z7II. Just so versatile and less weight to carry around. Take care and thanks again. Graham
Hey Henry, loving the Advent series but I’ve noticed that you’ve forgotten an earlier tip from your Olympus adventures, one that I try to keep to, get your camera out onto your Capture Clip - be ready lad! Love it!
my most used lens? my RF 100 to 500mm by far, but then thats for wildlife, the lens i love the most right now is my OM systems 40 to 150mm with my unbroken OM-5! love your videos Henry, and one a day is a real top draw treat!
I really thought you were going to step on the Z7 + 24-200 .... scary moment in the great video :-) ... My favourite : Z 24-120 F4 S ... Kind regards, Guy.
Thanks Henry for this advent adventure, yesterday’s one in Scotland was especially good, my wife isn’t into photography as much as me, but your videos are certainly inspiring us to visit your home county and Scotland. ( I hope the Tourist boards notice you and your channel, and pay you what you deserve🤣🤣👍👍) The tec bit, what focus points and exposure area do you use, I have the D7500 and mostly use my 18-300, it’s probably not the sharpest, but I don’t specialise in any one thing, I just carry the camera around and take anything that looks good, it’s good as an all round lens, for me. Thanks again for your fantastic channel. Happy Christmas to you, and all your followers. 🎄🎄
Thanks for another exciting video Henry, your advent series is a real treat! I love my 18 to 140mm on my Nikon D7500 for the same reasons you love your 24 to 200 I guess!
Your having too much fun, Henry! Haha. For me, on ff, I have a Sigma 17-70 and Tamron 70-300. These give me all the options with Sony A99II. Cheers, man
Thanks for another great video Henry, you continually inspire me to get out and improve my photography. My favourite lens is the Pentax 16-85mm wr on the Pentax K3. Versatile and sharp, I use it for about 80% of my landscape photography.
Hey Henry another great video thanks for sharing your adventures with us your picture and videos inspire alot of us and is always a pure joy to join you cheers Henry all the best 👍🏻
I use the same lens and is certainly the one I use most for the same reasons you gave - it is also very good for my flower photography. I also have a NISI closeup filter which fits on the front and when at 200mm i do get excellent macro
Again another interesting video Henry....my favourite lens is Tamron 18-270mm which I use on my Nikon D500 and also my Tokina 12-24mm lens I keep on my D7100 camera...my Nikon lenses are used from time to time eg. 50mm prime... cheers from Australia 🦘🦘😊
HI Henry, thanks for another grand day out and thanks again for sharing. I try to make a point of thanking you for each grand day out as we can't due to illness and are very grateful for your efforts. So you can be sure that what you do is appreciated so very much. Don't ever change Henry, you're a breath of fresh air! As for my favourite lens, mine is an AFP 70-300 FX (my wife treated me) on my D3500 closely followed by my AFS DX 35 F1.8 prime. We might not have the deepest pockets or get far off the property ( or at all ) in recent years, but on a DX camera, the 70-300 lens has plenty of reach and the 35 is very versatile too. Your work is a real shot in the arm, keep up the good work.
Great videos. I wish I could join you on your adventures as you produce great photos on them. I also enjoy my 24-200 lens on my Z8. It is so easy to carry and makes a great travel lens as it is so versitile and light. Keep up the good work.
My most used lens is my Sony 200-600 as I shoot birds and other wildlife. Landscapes are second for me. I most often use my Sigma 24-70 for those. Occasionally the Sony 70-200 though for landscapes. Quite a heavy pack when all are on my trips😂
I fall into the bracket of not being able to get out that far at present Henry but fingers crossed once I’ve had my hip sorted I can attempt to do so again, not that I could do the amount you do, your a machine 👍🏻 another great video 👌🏻, my go too lens is 24-70 although I am partial to the 70-200.
I am one of those people that loves watching your videos because in them you take me to places that are inaccessible to me due to disability, and I thank you very much for that. I appreciate that
As an older chap (71) in Australia I watch your RUclips’s religiously hoping one day to walk up a small Wainwright or a trip to Scotland in the next year or so. My 24-200mm is also glued to my Z6. Thanks for watching!
Hi Henry my favourite lense Olympus 12-100 f4 so sharp and like your Nikon is full frame equivalent 24-200 loving the vids
I've grown really attracted to these near abstract landscape images even more than the vast vistas...thanks for encouraging us to experiment!
I am another one who can't climb a mountain or fell but thoroughly enjoys your mix of fun, learning, and expertise. Your enthusiasm brings it all to life and I feel, if just in my imagination, that I am there. Keep up he good work...you are a one off

Henry what are you doing to me your enthusiasm is rubbing off on me I'm wetting myself to get out taking photos 😊😊
Thanks again Henry, that was a quick fell for this evening.
And some great moments. That’s how it is with landscape’s.
Stay safe 🇦🇺 59/215

Glad you enjoy it!
Love that lens too. Wow what great shots you got today 👌
Henry's Lookout sounds a good name for the unnamed hill.
Thank you very much from France. Your videos are beautiful, all your videos refresh brain and refresh eyes... and make me forget all the ugly things of this world nowdays ! Thanks a lot ! and take care of you.

Wow, just got to the end of this video, the title doesn’t do it justice, some of the best photos so far Henry.
Another quality day out as always Henry.
Love the hand held multi exposure shot, just shows what you can do without a tripod.
Cheers from the Netherlands

Stunning work as always... No other words needed. ❤ I am that guy both Ill and disabled and would love to be able to do what you do. Thank you
I loved that lens till l realised the image quality did not live up to the S line lenses so l sold it, nevertheless so versatile.
Fantastic video, Henry. It’s such a joy to follow your adventures. Keep up the great work.
My favourite lense is my Sigma 18-300, which I have had for about 3yrs now, it is the lense like your 24-200 that gives almost all I want when out shooting
Hi Henry
Just a thought, think we be interested in how you sort through your photos, what program you use to view them, and how or where you store them, even a little photo editing ?
Keep your video coming, love your passion
Great video Henry, love Holme Fell area. I use the Z24-200 & Z24-120, not sure which I prefer as both good and both have own merits.
Good choice!
Favourite lens has to be my 24-105mm f4 lens…first lens I got and just one that I find so versatile for the photography i do
When I was shooting f mount lenses, the f2.8 24-70mm was my favorite lens. I am now shooting z mount lenses and the f4 24-120mm is my best lens.
You ar the best!
Already received your 2024 calender , great pictures! Love it👍
Hi Henry, thanks for your wonderful videos. Graham
Hope your surgery goes well
@@jocooper725 many thanks!
Favourite lens has to be my Nikon 50mm f/1.8G. Fantstic optical quality, lightweight, and didn't cost much when I bought it.
Mate absolutely love your videos been wanting to get into photography as a hobby
Great content every time keep it up pal
Cranking them out lately. Must be the enjoyable season.
( I hope the Tourist boards notice you and your channel, and pay you what you deserve🤣🤣👍👍)
The tec bit, what focus points and exposure area do you use, I have the D7500 and mostly use my 18-300, it’s probably not the sharpest, but I don’t specialise in any one thing, I just carry the camera around and take anything that looks good, it’s good as an all round lens, for me.
Thanks again for your fantastic channel. Happy Christmas to you, and all your followers. 🎄🎄
Henry, you are a good human!! 🙂
I have the Nikon 24 - 200 z lens. I love that lens paired with my Nikon Z6. Nice photographs as ever.
Cheers, man
Every time I think my 24-200 is not good enough, you show me how good it really is! Well done!
Tamron 24-70mm is my most used but my favorite would have to be the Tamron 70-200mm G2. Thanks for another top vid ❤🙏
I still get excited every time you open your camera bag, Henry - sad really, as I'm normally about four hours drive away from your location.
My favorite if not the most used lens is the Nikkor f2.8 24-70mm S .
My 12-100mm Olympus lens covers the same equivalent range and is my ‘go to’ lens….❤
Thank you very much mate as always!
Birlliant Henry!!
My favourite lens is the 40-150mm M.Zuiko pro (80-300mm FF equivalent), i double this with the 12-40mm pro to cover most scenaios 😊
Thanks for sharing!
Excellent video as always 👍 Have that lens for my Z6 I. Looking at the wide angle lens you have also 🤔
Hi Henry just loving this what a brilliant treat it is. My favourite lens is the canon 24-105.
Nice one mate and thanks a lot!!
Good video Henry my lens tamron 18-300 with Sony a 6600 i like the versatility of it 😊
I fall into the bracket of not being able to get out that far at present Henry but fingers crossed once I’ve had my hip sorted I can attempt to do so again, not that I could do the amount you do, your a machine 👍🏻 another great video 👌🏻, my go too lens is 24-70 although I am partial to the 70-200.
